Cornerstone Inn & Suites Oelwein

There isnt a big selection in that area but it was not bad at all. Only hindering aspect is no elevator. The front desk was very friendly!

I didn't like that there was no elevator. It's hard to carry luggage up stairs. There was dirt/mud clumps on the carpets in the hallways. The side door is hard to open. My sink was slow to drain. But the room was comfortable. I got a good night sleep.

Stayed the night of Ragbrai. Property is well maintained clean and close/walking distance to the downtown area. Very good option. They also have washer/dryer available which came in very handy. Breakfast is served

This hotel was perfect for our stay. It is centrally located to Oelwein downtown so we were able to walk to our event and the downtown area. They served a nice hot breakfast. They aslo have a washer and dryer that we did not discover until we left but that was a nice added bonus.

Hotel was clean. There was no elevator and we were on 2nd floor. I have limited mobility, so steps were difficult and beds were comfy, but a bit too high.

Everything was good, breakfast could be better. Wish they had an elevator.

We were more than satisfied with our 1 night stay here. The place was friendly, clean and quiet. The one thing we didn’t like was there was no elevator. If you don’t want do stairs, get an accessible room. Put you on the 1st floor. Otherwise our stay was great!

Stairs and hallways could use a vacuum...crumbs, dirt on the hallway/stairs carpet when I arrived...crumbs an dirt still on the hallway/stairs carpet. Rooms appear clean but the 'carpet fresh' powder smell is overwhelming. Bed shirts are torn, other items average to below standard, but it is a small town with not many options.

Very depressing ambiance... room was brown and boring. One overhead light and one lamp. Bathroom had many repairs in the works. Needed painting! Towels and linens were very very thin. Coffee pot did not work - I had to manually use a stirrer to dispense the weak coffee. Doubt I would stay there again...

We traveled to Galena spur of the moment and wound up landing in the middle of a fall festival. While an amazing time, accommodations were very sparing. We found this place, 100 dollars less than any hotel within an hours drive in any direction. A nice king size bed, COMFORTABLE! none of that spring-in-your-side stuff either. The hotel has a waffle breakfast and other hot choices, on the smaller side but appropriate for the guest traffic, we were alone in the facility. Let’s talk bathroom! If you dig water pressure and.. maybe.. oh, I don’t know.. A DOUBLE SHOWER HEAD!! look no further. The heater/ac worked well and kept the room tempered. It was quiet. I didn’t hear a door or foot step all night and I’m telling you if I would have been able to roll off the bed through the wall I would have been *in* the stairwell. Oh! This was cool. We checked in and they had a list of personal care items available incase you forgot them and it was a pretty nice spread, I don’t think I’ve seen something like that since maybe 2002? Very sweet sentiment. The key worked every time and the mechanism didn’t seem faulty or like it was bought off WISH (iykyk). I didn’t need to interact with the staff but they seemed attentive and cleaning the lobby/kitchen. I like to collect brochures from the hotel lobbies of new places we travel and right at the check in they had some for a whole Amish community with all kinds of businesses listed to patron. Very happy with this one!

The room was very comfortable. The bathroom looked new, which is a plus. The offered breakfast could improve.

The people working were excellent. The rooms nice & clean, enjoyed our stay. Though the people above us were quite noisy in the middle of the night otherwise excellent!

Bed was very worn. I was stuck in a hole all night. The sink was clogged and filled every time the water ran. Besides that the room was great

I have nothing but good things to say. I asked if I could check out a little later and they were able to accommodate my request. I then found out I was on the 2nd floor which worried me because I had a lot of luggage and have a very bad back. The guy immediately transferred me down to a room on the 1st floor. And the beds, OMG the beds were absolutely AMAZING!!! That was the most comfortable night of sleep I’ve had in years. I would actually pay to take that mattress home.

We enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Cornerstone Inn. It was a perfect home-base for us while we were in the area for a family wedding. We appreciated the friendly staff, cleanliness, and the simple and convenient breakfast buffet each morning.

Rather noisy (not the fault of the motel) late at night. Check in was a little slow. ( had to wait for desk clerk several minutes.) no big deal it was about 6 PM and she was working alone. All in all very good stay. Will go back.

When I got there the lady at the desk only asked me for my name, had me sign a paper and gave us our key, never asked for an id for proof or anything and she wasn’t very nice. I didn’t know how to connect to the WiFi and the lady at the desk wasn’t very friendly about it and said they don’t got a paceword so I couldn’t get connected to anything so I was very frustrated

This hotel is a great value. It has an upscale feel. The beds are comfortable, it is a quiet location near dining options. We will make it a point to use this hotel again when traveling to Iowa to visit friends and family.

Small property. Room was average. Breakfast was extremely minimal and the hotel was at capacity. Check in staff weren't friendly.
