Sunset Inn

Clerks were friendly enough. We arrived just after 11 pm. I forgot to ask for a ground floor room. We parked just below our 2nd floor room. Noticed there WAS parking available there. Returned to the check-in, asked if we could have a ground floor room. (My wife has issues with stairs since surgery to remove a kidney - currently cancer free 🙏) Discovered tiny flies around the hand sink and a spider in the tub. Back to the office. Manager gets a can of bug spray and some Fabreeze. Not a great way to start. Only 1 trash can. Only 1 Facial tissue in the box. TP "loose" - no holder. Room was dirty. Towels & linens didn't look clean. Freezer had a 1/2" 'plate' of ice. I left it turned off and open with a towel to collect what thaws. In the morning noticed a good amount of light around the door. (Not sealed well) The top door lock was not a matched set and - therefore - non-functional. Slight smell of lingering smoke (in a non-smoking room) The manager was willing to let us keep the Fabreeze until morning - as long as we returned it! Rm #105 Sunset Inn going on our "Never return here" list BUT - we are heading to see our new grandson and our kids!

If I could give 0 stars I would! This place is absolutely DISGUSTING & should not be in operation!! There were holes in the wall, stains on the bedding, floors, EVERYWHERE!! Exposed lighting in the ceiling (no light fixture). The lightning in the back parking area was dim, w/trash & other large items discarded. There were also several sketchy looking individuals hanging around. You'd do better off sleeping in your car! I didn't feel comfortable & ended up leaving.

Room smelled like mildew and smoke, in a “nonsmoking room” as soon as I walked in and my clothes still smell like the room. After turning the AC down from 80 to 65 the mildew feel went away but the smoke smell remained. The sheets had weird stains possibly skid marks and Im pretty sure there was mold on the pillow cases. Besides all the trim and paint coming off the walls the mattresses was comfortable and the AC did work at least. If you don't mind the smell of smoke in your nonsmoking room this is the place for you.

The staff was excellent, I will say they could use a little updating on linens, but it was clean and cheap. The beds were comfortable, a/c is cold, and the showers hot. Definitely recommend for a 2-star place, you get more than more expensive options in the area.

I can't stay in this filthy, roach infested place. It's now 3am and I have to go find another room some place else.

There were bugs crawling in the bed.

Nothing to like, nor unique at all. Floors so dirty me feet were BLACK!

This place should be closed to the public, I have never been in a place as dirty as this before, it's disgusting, starting at the reception it's a mess, the stairs are broken, the corridors are wet from broken air conditioning but the worse part is the bedrooms omg it smells like weed the sheets have blood and fluid stains many holes in the sheets and some badly darned, glasses marks all over the furniture the bathroom was horrible but even dirtier because I guess it wasn't beard hair in the bathtub The floor was sticky and believe it or not, that was the third room they gave me. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I recommend that it be checked by the health department to be closed Don't waste your money, even when it's cheap, don't risk your health or life by going there.

The lady that checked.e in was very friendly and helpful. Floor could have been cleaner. Bed sheets and towels were clean. I will stay here again.

Towels were old, threadbare and stained. Bathmat had big black stains on it. Only one trash can by the door, not by the bathroom. Toilet paper holders had no cylinder thing in them on which you put the roll. There were 2 half used rolls of toilet paper on the toilet tank. Furniture was old and rickety. Toilet backed up after the first flush. When I checked in it took a long time because the clerk didn’t know how to use the computer system. They charged $3.75 if you used a credit card! Everyone uses credit cards now! Who pays in cash anymore?? They wouldn’t give me a receipt until I checked out the next day. When I went to check out, nobody was there. I had to use their call button to get someone to the front desk. I asked for my receipt and the clerk told me that I wouldn’t get a receipt because I paid online. I had to tell her that I paid in person last night with my credit card. She then looked it up in the system and then finally gave me a receipt. There was no channel guide on the remote or any printout with the channels on the TV. I would NEVER go there again and WOULD NOT recommend it to anyone else!

You get what you pay for, overall not bad. I asked for a non smoking room and they gave me a room that smelled strongly of marijuana and cigarettes so I have to chatrooms once, but the new room smelled alright

Room was good for the price. Fridge was frozen solid, but still cool enough for what I needed. Location is very close to the speedway... Good if you're visiting for the races, but you can hear them, so not good for light sleepers or those with sensitivity to noises.

Extremely dirty floor. Broken curtains for people to see inside. Faucet that drips non stop. Numerous stains on bed. Purchased a non smoking room, gave me a smoking room instead with smaller beds than original purchased. If something was possibly of going wrong, it went wrong. Avoid for your own good. When you pay for cheap, you get an absolute trash of a hotel like this

The door would not shut properly.

We've stayed at this motel on several occasions. This stay seemed less than excellent. Our room was not quite as clean and had no toilet paper. We had booked a non-smoking room, but our room smelled of stale cigarettes. We were disappointed but not to the point of discontinuing our stay. The room rates are budget-friendly and we've never experienced these issues before.

It's a value proposition. For this price, it's fine. You don't get things like shampoo or a coffee maker (and yet there is a giant TV). I don't have any regrets about staying there but wouldn't pay much for this either. Inside it was a little worn-out and there was hole in the bedsheet from smoking, but felt clean enough.

The safety lock on the door was broken off, like the door had been kicked in. They said their credit card machine was broken so you could use the convient ATM in the lobby to get cash. And on the secomd floor above us the family had a violent fight with children screaming in terror and someone saying 'they would take care of things" at 2 am in the morning.

The property itself was good but the beds were hard to me needed more towels there was 4 people in one room and only 2 towels

my stay was horrible, the room was dirty. couldnt get another room. the remote wasnt there. people outside smokimg weed and drinking all night hanging out. no hot water. front desk wouldnt help us. holes in wall. filrty filty floors. i would never ever stay or referral ever.

Friendly staff

Great stay, clean, comfortable!! I did ask for an earlier Check in, they didn’t check the note and did not accommodate, and there was not an ashtray in our smoking room. Other than that we had a good experience here!!!

Check in scheduled for 1pm but they informed me it as still not ready and to come back at 2.

The clerk was very friendly. She saw I had a guest with a foot injury and asked if I would prefer downstairs..she was wonderful and great attitude.

I have stayed here before and I always enjoy my stay. The place is clean, safe and the staff is attentive. The hotel is also reasonably priced and the service is great. Thank you for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable.

It had exactly what I needed. Bed, toilet,shower, fridge and microwave. Great price and I felt safe.

What I love about the Sunset Inn Hotel was super phenomenal, & awesome! because the room was cheaper and it was easier for me to have a ride to go to the national civil rights Museum, and downtown Memphis, and all over the city of Memphis Tennessee!!

was a good enough place to stay. was a nice location. close to highway

probably better options but overall worked for what needed to do - was close to highway so that was good
