Checkin experience was bad. I made a booking throught hotels.com and on the email confirmation it says clearly my name for two rooms. When I tried to checking the gentleman told me that I’ve only booked one room and asked me to call hotels.com. Only after multiple pushes he managed to find two bookings under Expedia for my name and my mother’s. I don’t know how it worked hotels.com and Expedia but I just think that if he could find it after me asking a few more times it must mean that he wasn’t checking carefully enough…

Facility is old, air conditioner can’t cool room enough, no water cup is provided, towel is not changed and room not cleaned each day.

We chose the Greatt Hotel for its location - 1 block from the Shilin Night Market (one of the best in Asia) and close to the Shilin train station - straight shot to CKS Memorial and convenient 15-minute bus to National Palace Museum. It is a bit spartan, but the rooms are clean and the bathroom was great. Reception was very nice and useful but did not speak English - the use of Google Translate solved all problems. I definitely recommend this hotel.
