Smithyends Apartments

Check-in door code was not pushed to us or in chat we had to ask and wait so it took almost an hour to find and park, then text to ask and then finally receive code. Other than that it was clean and more space than I thought and a good one night stop. I do agree that there is a smell but it's because the restaurant next door vents near bathroom, so I wouldn't hold that as a detriment.

Communicated a number of issues with my one night stay to Hotels.com and the property did not respond to these issues. Issues mainly around the following: numerous large dirty carpet stains throughout apartment; toiletries of previous guests in bathroom (including toothpaste, shower gel, deodorant and hair spray); cardboard and sticky tape used to secure pipes in bathroom; various damage to furnishing including hole in blind and faulty blinds which could not be pulled up; dirty stains on mirrors and TV screen; dirty stains on bedding and divan; upturned paint tin on lower landing; smell of damp throughout; door in one bedroom unable to close because of carpet; damage to walls throughout including electrical socket;; various exposed wires lying in different rooms; no bedside lamps or tables in bedrooms; unclear check-in instructions. A very unsatisfactory experience followed up by no communication when Hotels.com contacted the property on my behalf
