Staff and check in were ok. Carpet in room was stained. Couch had burn holes and was stained. Shower controls were challenging. Fitness facility was small and had a treadmill and electronic bike…both broken. Unhappy and won’t go back.

I would give it 5 stars except for A) One elevator was out of order and the other was very slow and B) because it's right by the QEW, there is a lot of traffic noise. Aside from that, it's a great hotel. Bright and clean and modern. The rainfall shower was awesome, bed was comfortable, room was nicely furnished and seemed very clean. There is both a breakfast restaurant and a dinner restaurant attached to the hotel which is convenient, and you can walk to Walmart and a dollar store as well as a few other assorted shops if you need to. I've stayed here in the past with my children as well and we had a two queen bed room with a pullout couch and it was great, too. They loved the pool and hot tub as well on that visit.

The hotel looks fairly new but the furniture was pretty beaten up. The elevators are extremely slow. We gave up and took the stairs.

Overall the hotel was fine, but the beds were not the most comfortable, the areas could have been a bit cleaner, the gym was a bit limited, and the pool was small.

Nice and clean. Only complaint would be the lethal amount of chlorine used in the pool. Our eyes were burning the whole time just being in the pool area. Even stronger while sotting in the hot tub. Could smell chlorine through the whole hotel. Other than that the stay was beautiful.

Our only issued was getting a housekeeping. I called their number but always go straight to voicemail. I called the guest service telling them I need housekeeping and didn’t wait for me to finish my sentence. He just transferred me to the line but ended up to voicemail. I called back again the guest service telling them I can’t get hold to the housekeeping only voicemail. He told me they are busy maybe try again later. I left a voicemail I need a housekeeping in my room. Expecting that they will be cleaning once I’m back. After 2 hours went back to my room still not clean. Tried to call again the housekeeping but voicemail. Since then, I didn’t bother anymore house keeping to clean the room. Never Change the garbage. I have 2 kids with me so more water bottles and snacks in the garbage bin. We stayed two nights so all the towels that was used since Friday till Sunday we checked out was never change.

Very dirty room, we found used forks inside the coffee table. Found hair in the bathtub. The water in the shower had 2 options ; steaming hot or boiling hot. Carpets weren’t clean…very disappointing room. We were supposed to be there for 2 nights. They gave us a 50% refund for this situation for the first night. The problem is this : the hotel being fully booked there was no possibility to change rooms. With the help of hotels.com we decided to checkout earlier and only stay there 1 night. Unfortunately, we just found out that Sandman Hotel is refusing to refund the second night even if we checked out. Never going back, there are better options.

Literally got put into the worst room in the whole place, right beside their restaurant. You can hear the door to the restaurant opening and closing through the walls all night because it’s a 24/7 Denny’s. It wouldn’t be so bad, except our friends who literally booked the same night, hours after us, got upgraded to a suite, meanwhile told us there were no other rooms left. It was a very unpleasant experience.

The room was relatively clean though the AC had some issues during the 2nd night. The location is good as its attached to a Dennys and Moxies, and its walkable to a walmart and other shops. This was my third or fourth time staying here but will likely be my last. My main issue with this stay was the walls are paper thin, and there was a lot of families with young children. It was impossible to get a good rest/sleep in because of how poor the sound dampening was - it sounded like the kids were in the room with me. I checked out more exhausted then when I arrived.

I’ve stayed at many Sandman branches, but this experience has been unacceptable. I booked for 2 nights and had to change rooms twice because of cleanliness issues. When I asked for another change or proper cleaning, staff argued instead of helping. This is not acceptable service.

The gentleman at the front desk did an amazing job on this busy night, working (what appeared to be) by himself!!! He was courteous, calm, and efficient despite being subjected to needy, entitled, unobservant guests. Hats off to that guy. He was amazing and deserves a raise. If no one else said it today, THANK YOU again for your hard work.

Dirty outside many cigarette butts everywhere, watched staff is a leaf blower to push them into the parking lot and flower beds. Upon check in, machine wouldn’t work for my chip on credit card, was asked for another card, was unable to do so, had to use someone else’s. Was told it was an ongoing issue, maybe fix it? Or take cash in these cases. Under staffed, one person upon check in, dealing with 3 cashes and phone complaints. Pool is udderly tiny , cold , and the hot tub had way too much chemicals burning everyone eyes they advised they couldn’t open doors or windows as a health hazard yet, fumes burning us was fine.

Sandman Hotel in Hamilton was clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the large rainfall type shower. It was conveniently located near the Beach Strip Park Run which was our reason for staying in Hamilton for the night on the way to Toronto. Our only issue was that our room (404) was right next to the ice machine which was quite loud and woke us up a couple times when people used it late in the night.

Sandman Hotel in Hamilton was clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the large rainfall type shower. It’s very convenient being right off the highway. I like that you have a 24 hour Denny’s and Moxies restaurant attached to the hotel. It’s also in a super centre so you have the convenience of a Walmart, Shoeless Joes, Cobbs Bread and much more right in the parking lot. The Hamilton Beach is right across the highway which is nice. I would highly recommend this hotel

Absolutely loved this hotel only wish there were more in my area. Drove for a wedding and was so pleased with this hotel beautiful room amazing staff. So many food options and right in a shopping plaza with a Walmart which is perfect if you forget something.

Proximity to speciality shopping (health food store and bakery) and ethnic restaurants was very good. Facility was average hotel room. Noise from freeway and delivery truck running all night long below our room was unbearable. We couldn’t sleep much.

We had breakfast at the attached Denny's. It was a nice option at this hotel to have lots of options an especially a Denny's at one end and a Moxie's at the other end- without going outside. Plus other close options. Our Target event was in the downtown core and it was an easy UBER transaction coming and going for the same price as event parking.

Beautiful room. Awesome staff, especially Peter. Moxie’s was exceptional. Denny’s service was very bad. Waited an hour for a serving of toast only and called room service for an Omelette which was terrible.

We purposely booked an accessible room as my wife is suffering a temporary leg condition. The pictures of the room on both hotels.com and their own website show walk in shower with a bench, as she currently requires that. Our room did not have one and we were told that none of the accessible rooms have them. So their photos are giving false information. However a note in the bathroom said that we can request a chair. We called the front desk next to do so and none was delivered. We called back and were told they didn’t have any. However the manager the next morning said they do have them always available and that the night clerk “was new and didn’t know”. That’s the laziest excuse possible. Obviously they don’t train new staff or care enough about these little details. My wife called Sandnam’s direct number, spoke to someone who would let the hotels manager know. We spoke to that manager upon check out and he knew nothing and was only offering 50% off. We insisted that we were told a full refund. I’ve been a loyal customer of them for 3 years but that’s about to change as I easily stay somewhere else.

Outside of the morning people (the woman and the manager ) everyone is was horrible . We were overcharged and the night person was condescending and arrogant and thought he was right trying to charge me 2 deposits . The AC is terrible it barely stays on , will be going to four seasons next trip instead .
