The spacious hotel and grounds were stunningly presented with magical Christmas lights among the trees and paths and Vesuvius looming above...a view from our balcony which took our breath away! This was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a little luxury. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were so helpful and welcoming and breakfast, which included typical delicacies of Napoli and variety to suit all tastes, was beautifully presented, and delicious. In late November, understandably, the pool and evening restaurant were closed but staff helpfully suggested nearby restaurants after our day visits to spectacular Pompeii and Ercolano, both just a short drive away. It seems to us this beautiful hotel and excellent staff offer the same luxury, attention to detail and welcome to everyone, whether individuals, couples, families or large wedding parties! This was the perfect place to end our holiday around southern Italy.

De accomodatie was prachtig, met een grote tuin en een mooi zwembad. Het personeel was erg aardig en behulpzaam. Er worden verschillende extra diensten geboden, zoals bijvoorbeeld een gratis shuttle naar het dichtstbijzijnde station. Nadeel is wel dat er geen restaurants op loopafstand zijn, en je dus voor het avondeten beperkt bent tot het restaurant van het hotel of restaurants op 5-10 minuten rijden. Lopen is in sommige gevallen mogelijk maar dan moet je langs een drukke weg, in een voornamelijk industrieel gebied, en het is duidelijk dat de situatie niet ingericht is op voetgangers. In andere reviews zagen we dat mensen overlast ondervonden van bruiloften - er was elke dag een bruiloft tijdens ons verblijf en wij hebben hier geen enkele last van ondervonden. Top verblijf!

A great hotel with views of Vesuvius. Staff were first class. Good sized room. All spotlessly clean. Huge grounds in which to walk or relax. Pool with loungers & towels supplied plus the poolside bar. On site parking with buggies available to bring luggage to or from your car. Also courtesy bus from the nearest station (free) or the airport (chargeable). Good breakfast buffet. We didn't try the restaurant. Good location for visiting Pompeii or Herculaneum.

Beautiful hotel, grounds and staff. Made for the perfect base to discover Amalfi coast, Pompeii and an easy train to Rome. The pool is fantatsic and open until late, great for a quick refresh after a hot day exploring this part of Italy. Our junior suite room in the main building with views of the mountain, the grounds, the pool, Naples and even a bit of the sea was beyond our expectations.

What a beautiful place and so well taken care of - we enjoyed our stay immensely! There was a wide variety of breakfast options in the morning, the pool was clean and inviting, the staff was very helpful, the shuttle service to Ercolano train station was helpful to catch the sites! the beds were soft and the rooms were sound proof so well that we felt like we were the only ones there (even though there were multiple wedding parties going, but you would never know!)

This hotel is a wedding venue! We were assured by the management that the wedding would not disrupt our stay, they did. A wedding every day, music blaring from midday near the pool area. Then again in the hotel until 10.30pm. The hotel is a min €20 cab ride to any restaurant. So you definitely need a car. The grounds are beautiful with a waterfall and fountains. The food was good. Wedding season is most months apart from August. Naples is not the best area to appreciate the Italy I know and love.

Lovely hotel, some things could be improved in the bedroom, the shower flooded the floor as did not drain correctly and the towel rails in the shower and the bathroom were both loose. The grounds are very pretty, the pool is very nice, breakfast could be much better.

This is a good 4* hotel that with a few minor tweaks could be a fantastic 5*. It's a beautiful building set in lovely gardens and the pool has a great view of Vesuvius. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the on site restaurant is very good. However minor touches such as no tissues, body lotion, or dressing gowns in the room, shower gel wasn't topped up during our stay, and the decor in the bedroom being a bit tired, let it down. Service at the bar was also very slow with only one server looking after multiple guests. We booked a room with a terrace but it just had a couple of old and damaged bean bags for sitting in the sunshine, a couple of proper loungers would have been much more suitable. The hotel has a free shuttle to Herculaneum at fixed times during the day which are good but you must pre book. The nearby roads are not very pedestrian friendly but we stuck to main roads and walked 20-25 mins to some nearby restaurants, there wasn't much else closer and taxis are expensive. There were weddings at the hotel every day but we didn't find them too intrusive, they usually finished early. Breakfast was very good but didn't open until 7.30am so we had to eat very quickly in order to be out by 8am for our trips. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a good base for exploring the area but with a few improvements this could be a really excellent hotel.

Francesco, Giuseppe, and Roberta provided outstanding service at the front desk! Transportation available on request to Ercolano train station (to Naples or Pompeii). We loved our stay at Il San Cristoforo. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern, and the resort property was beautiful and quiet. The staff were always helpful. The hotel offers free shuttle services multiple times a day to the nearby main train station (Ercolano Scavi) which made it easier for one of our day trips. They were also very helpful with getting a shuttle to Napoli Centrale for when we checked out. One thing to keep in mind is that local restaurants are a bit of a walk (~20 minutes) which we personally didn't mind. Also, the closest train station (S. Giorgio a Cremano) is about a 30 minute walk. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Il San Cristoforo.

Tout simplement parfait ! Personnel, design, propreté, restaurant… parfait ! La seule chose qui surprend est le quartier, n’a lieu de Naples. En passant le portail vous rentrez dans un autre univers !

het landgoed / omgeving van het verblijf is prachtig. we hadden echter een krakend bed, dat niet door het personeel opgelost kon worden. daarnaast was het bijzonder licht op de kamer omdat er geen verduisterende gordijnen aanwezig zijn en er ook licht langs de gordijnen kwam.

We loved our stay at Il San Cristoforo. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern, and the resort property was beautiful and quiet. The staff were always helpful. The hotel offers free shuttle services multiple times a day to the nearby main train station (Ercolano Scavi) which made it easier for one of our day trips. They were also very helpful with getting a shuttle to Napoli Centrale for when we checked out. One thing to keep in mind is that local restaurants are a bit of a walk (~20 minutes) which we personally didn't mind. Also, the closest train station (S. Giorgio a Cremano) is about a 30 minute walk. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Il San Cristoforo.

Beautiful hotel, grounds and staff. Made for the perfect base to discover Amalfi coast, Pompeii and an easy train to Rome. The pool is fantatsic and open until late, great for a quick refresh after a hot day exploring this part of Italy. Our junior suite room in the main building with views of the mountain, the grounds, the pool, Naples and even a bit of the sea was beyond our expectations.

What a beautiful place and so well taken care of - we enjoyed our stay immensely! There was a wide variety of breakfast options in the morning, the pool was clean and inviting, the staff was very helpful, the shuttle service to Ercolano train station was helpful to catch the sites! the beds were soft and the rooms were sound proof so well that we felt like we were the only ones there (even though there were multiple wedding parties going, but you would never know!)

This is a good 4* hotel that with a few minor tweaks could be a fantastic 5*. It's a beautiful building set in lovely gardens and the pool has a great view of Vesuvius. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the on site restaurant is very good. However minor touches such as no tissues, body lotion, or dressing gowns in the room, shower gel wasn't topped up during our stay, and the decor in the bedroom being a bit tired, let it down. Service at the bar was also very slow with only one server looking after multiple guests. We booked a room with a terrace but it just had a couple of old and damaged bean bags for sitting in the sunshine, a couple of proper loungers would have been much more suitable. The hotel has a free shuttle to Herculaneum at fixed times during the day which are good but you must pre book. The nearby roads are not very pedestrian friendly but we stuck to main roads and walked 20-25 mins to some nearby restaurants, there wasn't much else closer and taxis are expensive. There were weddings at the hotel every day but we didn't find them too intrusive, they usually finished early. Absolutely excellent stay! This hotel is gorgeous, a beautiful grand building set in beautiful grounds, with the added benefit of having Mount Vesuvius as the backdrop. The location of hotel is brilliant for Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius, Naples, Sorrento, Salerno etc, and the regular shuttle to and from Ercolano train station was very welcome. We were made welcome from our first step into and last step out of the hotel. The reception staff, Giuseppe (shuttle driver) and restaurant staff were absolutely awesome, very helpful, friendly, professional, happy and accommodating. One of our best holidays ever! Highly recommended !

Difficult to be scathing in these challenging times but goodness! This was our first ‘Agri-hotel’, completely let down by inefficiency and incompetence, exemplified by being charged twice for our short trip. On the plus side, the setting is beautiful just under the mountain and v handy for Ercolano experience. Staff such as the shuttle driver into town and the friendly pool attendant were super but the service at breakfast was beyond parody and became almost comical - how surly and unhelpful can one waiter be? On the first floor bar which wasn’t ready at 19:30 even through open at 7pm (& we were sent up by reception) provided a small plate of snacks even though we didn’t order any but then proceeded to provide us with five more (sandwiches etc) which were completely surplus to requirements and obviously charged to our room. This is a wedding venue, make no mistake about it, and paying hotel guests are an after thought, not a priority. Examples being mini-bar empty on arrival “only available on request”; no ice in mini-bar for 3 days despite asking for it; broken dehumidifier not fixed despite asking for it; paper cups in room taken away on day 2 & not replaced. The much praised breakfast consists of porridge, scrambled eggs, bacon &/or grilled vegetables. Not exactly top notch eating for a B&B at £150 per night. Underwhelming is putting it mildly. Disastrous, more honestly

We picked Il San Cristoforo at the last minute to stay one night in order to see the Pompei sites and then fly from Naples the following morning. I am very happy we chose to stay here. They had a courtesy shuttle to/from the train station where we were able to get to Pompei. The staff was very accommodating. Francesco was very helpful arranging transportation to a restaurant and the airport the next day. He even offered to mail our postcards for us on his way home. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. We hope to return.

This is an oasis in the middle of a busy suburb in Naples. Seemed like crazy crowded all around this place. Great staff, beautiful property, really nice/clean rooms. If you happen to meet Marco the bartender on a slow night ask him to make you one of his specialty drinks. We had him all to ourselves outside on the one night we stayed and we had a ball! Thank you Marco!!!

Lopen is in sommige gevallen mogelijk maar dan moet je langs een drukke weg, in een voornamelijk industrieel gebied, en het is duidelijk dat de situatie niet ingericht is op voetgangers. In andere reviews zagen we dat mensen overlast ondervonden van bruiloften - er was elke dag een bruiloft tijdens ons verblijf en wij hebben hier geen enkele last van ondervonden. Top verblijf!

The three key things for us on this holiday were to have a small boutique hotel where staff were attentive, the pool was big and quiet and we breakfast was delicious. In this respect, Il San Cristoforo was a complete success. All the staff (especially Ezio on Reception!) were incredibly professional and helpful and the pool/grounds in general are just stunning. It's really beautiful. The breakfast selection was vast with quality ingredients and the woman who ran it was really charming. The downside was a simple one - location. The surrounding area is just not nice at all. There's hardly any pedestrian space by the roads, there's loads of broken glass everywhere and randomly seems to be a hot-spot for barking dogs. It's a real contrast to the calmness of the hotel. The hotel are very open about this, which is appreciated, but you really are limited with where you can go unless you have a car as taxis are rare and so expensive. The hotel does offer a shuttle to Herculaneum station, which can get you to Pompeii/Naples/other areas, but these shuttles are not frequent. Also, be mindful that the hotel host a LOT of weddings...lovely to see, but they dominate the hotel in the evening.
The three key things for us on this holiday were to have a small boutique hotel where staff were attentive, the pool was big and quiet and we breakfast was delicious. In this respect, Il San Cristoforo was a complete success. All the staff (especially Ezio on Reception!) were incredibly professional and helpful and the pool/grounds in general are just stunning. It's really beautiful. The breakfast selection was vast with quality ingredients and the woman who ran it was really charming. The downside was a simple one - location. The surrounding area is just not nice at all. There's hardly any pedestrian space by the roads, there's loads of broken glass everywhere and randomly seems to be a hot-spot for barking dogs. It's a real contrast to the calmness of the hotel. The hotel are very open about this, which is appreciated, but you really are limited with where you can go unless you have a car as taxis are rare and so expensive. The hotel does offer a shuttle to Herculaneum station, which can get you to Pompeii/Naples/other areas, but these shuttles are not frequent. This property was like an oasis in the middle of an urban desert. great location for visiting the roman ruins and Naples. local transport (trains) are very cheap and clean. Downside is the area outside the resort especially whilst walking to Herculaneum is dirty, run down with litter all over the place.

Once you enter this resort it's a little piece of heaven and a great place to relax and enjoy some pool time for a few days. The staff and service are very nice and professional. The hotel and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. However, there are a lot of issues with staying in this area: For getting in and out of the resort you are dependent on a taxi service. There are 2 issues with that: 1-availability and 2-prices. For the first few days I was able to use my Uber app and was able to get around. During the weekend Uber was not available at all. Then you need to work with the hotel for a taxi option. Getting a taxi to a 15 min walking distance place is 15 Euros. Getting to Napoli is around 40Euros or so. To the airport it's 60Euros. So make sure you account for that. Food options: the food at the resort is excellent. But if you wanted to go out and explore options you may need a cab or if you are adventurous you can walk but it's not a very walking friendly area. Surrounding area: The surrounding area of the hotel is hard to walk and full off trash every where. I'm not sure what the trash situation is in south Italy but it is EVERYWHERE. So the moment you get out of the resort be prepared to experience a severe contrast. In summary -while the resort is dreamy I wouldn't spend more than a few days just to relax here.

As a whole the hotel was fancier than we were expecting (not a bad thing!) The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English well. We used the free shuttle to Herculanium (Ercolarno) most days and caught the train to our final detination, very useful. We did more walking around the area than I think most clients, the area was sparse but there was a useful supermarket a 15 minute walk away and a good selection of restaurants and other shops approximately 30 mins walk in San Giorgio a Cremano. A number of weddings were hosted there during our 8 day stay but there was little interference other than the fireworks that went of before bed time (was actually quite romantic to watch from our window). I would strongly reccommend paying the little extra for a view of vesuvius as you also get a view of the gardens.

This hotel is a wedding venue! We were assured by the management that the wedding would not disrupt our stay, they did. A wedding every day, music blaring from midday near the pool area. Then again in the hotel until 10.30pm. The hotel is a min €20 cab ride to any restaurant. So you definitely need a car. The grounds are beautiful with a waterfall and fountains. The food was good. Wedding season is most months apart from August. Naples is not the best area to appreciate the Italy I know and love.

The spacious hotel and grounds were stunningly presented with magical Christmas lights among the trees and paths and Vesuvius looming above...a view from our balcony which took our breath away! This was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a little luxury. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were so helpful and welcoming and breakfast, which included typical delicacies of Napoli and variety to suit all tastes, was beautifully presented, and delicious. In late November, understandably, the pool and evening restaurant were closed but staff helpfully suggested nearby restaurants after our day visits to spectacular Pompeii and Ercolano, both just a short drive away. It seems to us this beautiful hotel and excellent staff offer the same luxury, attention to detail and welcome to everyone, whether individuals, couples, families or large wedding parties! This was the perfect place to end our holiday around southern Italy.

Details on Expedia for this hotel were incorrect. Details said that this hotel had a restaurant and bar. This was the main reason we booked this hotel. On arrival when we realized that most of the hotel was shut down, we decided to leave and book another hotel elsewhere. Although they updated the Expedia profile within an hour of us complaining they refused to acknowledge their mistake and never apologized. When we asked for a refund for the 3 nights we booked (which we never stayed) they refused and said they weren’t responsible for the details that are on Expedia. Lots of construction going on at the hotel, most of the hotel is shut down. The area around the hotel is full of traffic and there is no easy way to access any other restaurants or facilities. Don’t know why they can’t just admit they made a mistake and give us a refund. We didn’t stay a single night and they charged us for 3 full nights.

Our short one-night stay had us wishing we could have stayed longer! Beautiful and clean property, amazing service, convenient location to the airport - with a wonderful pool and exceptional dining too. Be sure to treat yourself to the pool and the high end on-site restaurant. It was spectacular.

Lovely hotel, some things could be improved in the bedroom, the shower flooded the floor as did not drain correctly and the towel rails in the shower and the bathroom were both loose. The grounds are very pretty, the pool is very nice, breakfast could be much better.

This is a good 4* hotel that with a few minor tweaks could be a fantastic 5*. It's a beautiful building set in lovely gardens and the pool has a great view of Vesuvius. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the on site restaurant is very good. However minor touches such as no tissues, body lotion, or dressing gowns in the room, shower gel wasn't topped up during our stay, and the decor in the bedroom being a bit tired, let it down. Service at the bar was also very slow with only one server looking after multiple guests. We booked a room with a terrace but it just had a couple of old and damaged bean bags for sitting in the sunshine, a couple of proper loungers would have been much more suitable. The hotel has a free shuttle to Herculaneum at fixed times during the day which are good but you must pre book. The nearby roads are not very pedestrian friendly but we stuck to main roads and walked 20-25 mins to some nearby restaurants, there wasn't much else closer and taxis are expensive. There were weddings at the hotel every day but we didn't find them too intrusive, they usually finished early. Breakfast was very good but didn't open until 7.30am so we had to eat very quickly in order to be out by 8am for our trips. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a good base for exploring the area but with a few improvements this could be a really excellent hotel.
