What an amazing place. Stayed in the Bonnie Prince Charlie room with the hot tub. Fantastic room and the hot tub was great. Nice continental breakfast in the morning. Bed was great. You will need a car here and you will need to travel for evening food. But don’t let that put you off. Will absolutely be returning.

Lovely B&B type stay. The house and room was beautiful. They left a nice selection of continental style breakfast items along with coffee and tea for the morning. If you forced me to say something negative, I would say that the water pressure was low and the driveway is steep and bumpy. So, just go slow and it won't be a problem.

this is a beautiful property within reasonable distance from Loch Ness and Inverness the start of the NC500 the continental breakfast provided exceeded expectations as it also included smoked salmon, ham and fresh orange juice. I would have perhaps included some crackers for the salmon/ham (or bread) instead of just croissants. This hotel ticked all boxes however the drive up to the hotel was horrendous on a motorbike, both getting up and down. I would seriously consider getting it tarmac'd if only a line down the center as right now I would have to discourage bikers from staying there. which is a shame as it's a beautiful property

We loved our stay at the lodge. We had the Bonnie Prince room which had some use of the outdoor spa! This was amazing to sit with a drink and relax whilst looking over the Loch Ness and highlands I. The distance. Room was very large and spacious with a very comfortable bed!! Loved our stay! Highly recommend.

Amazing stay! Check in instructions were very clear and no issues finding the property. Room was stunning, bathroom bigger than my flat! Hospitality tray and in room breakfast was very generous. Hot tub was amazing and the robes were very much appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay in room King Charles. Mark was very accommodating and provided oatmilk and fresh fruit when we informed him we didn’t eat meat. We used to outdoor jacuzzi, which is private for the room. An amazing experience with incredible views in the evening. It’s good to know that they charge you for using the jacuzzi though, 20 quid per day. Breakfast was decent enough, but not very versatile. We got (not newly baked) croissants every day, marmelad, butter, cheese, yogurt, cereal and OJ. You eat in your room, which is a bit different but we found it cozy. Also worth mentioning is that the hotel doesn’t have any restaurant and the closest by are about a 15 min drive away. Nothing within walking distance really. Bed was very comfortable and room beautiful. We would happy to come back!

It was a fine stay. Nothing spectacular. The host should definitely add to their Expedia listing that you will be required to leave 20 pounds in cash PER NIGHT if you would like to use the hot tub in the Bonnie Prince Charlie sweet what you pay extra money for already in the listing price. I double checked when I got there to be sure that I didn't miss it. I did not travel with cash so this was kind of annoying. The host could have definitely made note of this in emails as well. We booked this room well in advance specifically for the hot tub. Other than that breakfast was nice. An idea might be to add a microwave to the room. Also this is quite far from Inverness if you are hoping to be close by.

We stayed in the Bonnie Prince Charlie room, this was both charming, comfortable and spacious. We didn’t see the hosts but were given information to contact them if a need . Continental breakfast was left in the room. The driveway was very steep, would recommend arriving in daylight. Would highly recommend this lodge.

Fantastic stay in the Bonnie Prince Charlie room! So spacious and beautifully furnished. We also really enjoyed using the hot tub just right outside the door. Mark was super friendly and made us feel at home. We will definitely come back soon to this amazing property.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. Was not crazy about how impersonal the interaction was with owner/staff. Never saw anyone and keys were left in the door. The bed was worn out and both my husband and I had back pain. Zero water pressure in the showers. Originally wanted something close to Inverness which was suggested by Travelocity but this is nowhere near Inverness. Even our GPS got lost finding this. It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend this, it just wasn’t the right fit for our needs.

Liked that it was fairly secluded and quiet in the bear hut. Though if the guests in the next hut were outside you would have heard everything. The spider in the bed was definitely not ideal. Daughter stayed in the room inside the house and could hear the folks above her.

What an amazing place!! We stayed in a hut and it was very clean and cozy. We were even given some items for breakfast and felt very well taken care of. Highly recommend!!!

We loved our stay, just wish we could have stayed longer. We got in later than check in and Mark the owner still came to greet us and help us with our bags. He was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in the black bear hut and it was everything we needed! Definitely small, but we were expecting it to be, and if anything it added to the coziness! The owners thought of everything from snacks, tea, coffee, fresh towels, you name it. The space was so clean, I have nothing bad to say about our stay.

We had a very nice stay. The lodge is very nice and clean. The only issue we had was with the water pressure in the shower. There basically was none and it made it very difficult to wash and rinse. The temperature was also hard to control with the water either being very cold, or very very hot. Otherwise, it was a nice place.

Nice quiet out of the way place with beautiful grounds. The room was spacious, bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was XL, the only ding would be the shower pressure was very low. It took awhile to get the conditioner out of my hair. Never saw any staff. Overall still would recommend.

Fantastic setting near to Loch Ness. The hut itself was cosy, comfortable and had a good shower, TV, and a WiFi signal strong enough for working. The host recommended a local pub for dinner, which was handy - again a 10-minute drive away. There was a 10-minute walk in the welcome pack that took in stunning views. Would recommend and would return.

I think it was perfect for us. We were on a sabbatical and it was so quiet. The view from the outside balcony was enjoyable in the evening. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a bathtub which was the perfect ending to a fun packed day of hiking. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I would definitely recommend this place.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Highland Bear Lodge. The property is absolutely stunning, and our room (The Bonnie Prince Charlie Suite) was amazing. We felt like we had gone back in history and were surrounded by luxury. The room and bathroom were beautifully appointed. The continental breakfast was fabulous and very thoughtful. We couldn’t have asked for anymore from our hosts. Thank you.

A unique little hut thats very effective as a base of operations. Its too small to be permanent setting. Very clean with snacks laid on in the kitchen bin. Definitely for car users as driveway is steep and twisty. Very little contact with owners as we only required an additional towel which was bought to us in a few minutes. Views are of the local woodland and Loch Ness is a few minutes drive away. Overall we enjoyed our two nights there. Recommended stay.

Absolute BEST accommodations I’ve experienced in 40 years! Gorgeous property, spacious and well appointed room. The attention to detail in the decor and accouterments was thoughtful and creative. Mark the host was genuine and accommodating. Started off my first trip to Scotland here and would happily stay again! Fabulous stay!

Our stay at the lodge was very comfortable and private. The room was spacious, with a well appointed bathroom and comfortable bed. The grounds of the hotel were very well kept and beautiful. The only part of our stay we didn’t love was that there was no one to greet you on arrival, so we felt a little confused about entering the property. You’re also pretty far from town so be sure to prepare accordingly!

Beautiful room, huge bathroom, peaceful and quiet, yet a short drive to Loch Ness and Inverness! Took a tour with Mark Dann the owner! Very knowledgeable of the history of the area, hidden unknown spots.. excellent

We loved our stay, just wish we could have stayed longer. We got in later than check in and Mark the owner still came to greet us and help us with our bags. He was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in the black bear hut and it was everything we needed! Definitely small, but we were expecting it to be, and if anything it added to the coziness! The owners thought of everything from snacks, tea, coffee, fresh towels, you name it. The space was so clean, I have nothing bad to say about our stay.

Fantastic setting near to Loch Ness. The hut itself was cosy, comfortable and had a good shower, TV, and a WiFi signal strong enough for working. The host recommended a local pub for dinner, which was handy - again a 10-minute drive away. There was a 10-minute walk in the welcome pack that took in stunning views. Would recommend and would return.

Nice quiet out of the way place with beautiful grounds. The room was spacious, bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was XL, the only ding would be the shower pressure was very low. It took awhile to get the conditioner out of my hair. Never saw any staff. Overall still would recommend.

A unique little hut thats very effective as a base of operations. Its too small to be permanent setting. Very clean with snacks laid on in the kitchen bin. Definitely for car users as driveway is steep and twisty. Very little contact with owners as we only required an additional towel which was bought to us in a few minutes. Views are of the local woodland and Loch Ness is a few minutes drive away. Overall we enjoyed our two nights there. Recommended stay.

Lovely B&B type stay. The house and room was beautiful. They left a nice selection of continental style breakfast items along with coffee and tea for the morning. If you forced me to say something negative, I would say that the water pressure was low and the driveway is steep and bumpy. So, just go slow and it won't be a problem.

Great little hut. Very comfortable and warm and really peaceful. Bed was seriously comfy. Had enough sunny spells for some breakfast outside too which was lovely. Really close to Drumnadrochit for food and shops. Also really close to Glen Affric which meant I could beat the car park crowds when visiting without having to get up seriously early.

this is a beautiful property within reasonable distance from Loch Ness and Inverness the start of the NC500 the continental breakfast provided exceeded expectations as it also included smoked salmon, ham and fresh orange juice. I would have perhaps included some crackers for the salmon/ham (or bread) instead of just croissants. This hotel ticked all boxes however the drive up to the hotel was horrendous on a motorbike, both getting up and down. I would seriously consider getting it tarmac'd if only a line down the center as right now I would have to discourage bikers from staying there. which is a shame as it's a beautiful property

We had a wonderful stay in room King Charles. Mark was very accommodating and provided oatmilk and fresh fruit when we informed him we didn’t eat meat. We used to outdoor jacuzzi, which is private for the room. An amazing experience with incredible views in the evening. It’s good to know that they charge you for using the jacuzzi though, 20 quid per day. Breakfast was decent enough, but not very versatile. We got (not newly baked) croissants every day, marmelad, butter, cheese, yogurt, cereal and OJ. You eat in your room, which is a bit different but we found it cozy. Also worth mentioning is that the hotel doesn’t have any restaurant and the closest by are about a 15 min drive away. Nothing within walking distance really. Bed was very comfortable and room beautiful. We would happy to come back!

It was a fine stay. Nothing spectacular. The host should definitely add to their Expedia listing that you will be required to leave 20 pounds in cash PER NIGHT if you would like to use the hot tub in the Bonnie Prince Charlie sweet what you pay extra money for already in the listing price. I double checked when I got there to be sure that I didn't miss it. I did not travel with cash so this was kind of annoying. The host could have definitely made note of this in emails as well. We booked this room well in advance specifically for the hot tub. Other than that breakfast was nice. An idea might be to add a microwave to the room. Also this is quite far from Inverness if you are hoping to be close by.

Beautiful luxurious mansion with thoughtful styling throughout! The lodge was on the top of the hill creating privacy and with gorgeous views of the loch and hills. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Would highly recommend this stay when visiting loch ness!

A lovely place to stay. Easy checking in and out. A very clean, well appointed shepherds hut. If booking please be aware that breakfast is cornflakes/instant porridge and a breakfast bar plus tea or coffee. This was enough for us but wanted to point it out as it might be helpful for others booking.

The place was nice,cozy and clean. Excellent ambience for a short getaway. The food provided was something which I found was not as expected. Breakfast was frozen items and most of them were things that we dont eat. Other than that it was an excellent place.

What an amazing place. Stayed in the Bonnie Prince Charlie room with the hot tub. Fantastic room and the hot tub was great. Nice continental breakfast in the morning. Bed was great. You will need a car here and you will need to travel for evening food. But don’t let that put you off. Will absolutely be returning.

Amazing stay! Check in instructions were very clear and no issues finding the property. Room was stunning, bathroom bigger than my flat! Hospitality tray and in room breakfast was very generous. Hot tub was amazing and the robes were very much appreciated.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Highland Bear Lodge. The property is absolutely stunning, and our room (The Bonnie Prince Charlie Suite) was amazing. We felt like we had gone back in history and were surrounded by luxury. The room and bathroom were beautifully appointed. The continental breakfast was fabulous and very thoughtful. We couldn’t have asked for anymore from our hosts. Thank you.

Sehr ruhiges im Wald gelegenes BnB. Sehr grosses Zimmer (Bonnie Prince Charly). Frühstück auf dem Zimmer mit bereitgestellten Croissants, Joghurt, Lachs, Schinken, O-Saft etc. - reichlich! Für das Abendessen muss man allerdings mit dem Auto bis nach Drumnadrochit (10 Min.) fahren, da die Unterkunft etwas ausserhalb gelegen ist. Trotzdem absolut zu empfehlen!

We stayed in one of the Bear Huts. Although I'd seen the photo, I did not think it was going to be as cramped inside as it was. It's certainly not big enough for two people. The large and very comfy bed was fitted over storage space and was so high up my husband had to help me up onto it in a very ungainly manner. Definitely needs a step up of some sort. All the storage units had noisy bolt lock fastenings. Getting the boiler working for hot water in the shower was a work of art. The hut door was very squeaky and in need of some WD 40. Breakfast was cereals. There was a hob, but they asked you not to cook anything that may leave a smell. There was a small table and two foldup chairs to sit on, but it was difficult to move around with them in situ. There was a lovely private outside area with seating and table. Parking was available The property was situated a fair way out of Drumnadroch and not worth the extra journey. It was not suitable for an overnight stop and overpriced considering there was no proper breakfast.

Wonderful hotel! Five stars not enough. The hosts were gracious and helpful(via phone and text), as this is a self serve stay. Immaculate, easy check in with generous breakfast in room. Location is remote , but beautiful. Must have car to get around. We had a car issue and a very late check in was no problem. Staff on site was also very informative about derives in the area. Great stay.

Beautiful lodge house with fantastic countryside views. Stayed in the Bonnie Prince Charlie suite which was amazing. The window overlooking the side of the lodge affords a great view of a variety of wild birds including Woodpeckers as they feed on the bird feeding station. To great surprise a rare red squirrel also visited! Nice large continental breakfast that couldn't be finished. Nice change from the standard cooked breakfast often served by B and Bs. Large communal lounge sitting room with large traditional stone fireplace and TV. The owner Mark is a friendly guy who ensures everything is all good during your stay. The location is a little of the main roads but still within easy car access to the two restaurants available in loch Ness area. Outside table dining area couldn't be used due to rain spoiling play. Great area if weather is fine. Free onsite car parking. Not sure what more can be said. The photos on the booking site do not do the lodge justice. If back in the area I will try and return.
