Sandman Signature Edmonton South Hotel

We stayed in the family suite for 4 nights. Staff were very friendly. Faculties were very clean. Convenient having two restaurants attached to the hotel. Kids loved the pool/hot tub.

It was wonderful! The pool and the fitness center were great!

We have stayed at the Sandman once a year for the last four years, and have always enjoyed our stay. This year, we noticed that the pool was dirty and the chlorine was so strong that it made our eyes burn. The rooms need a bit of upgrading. The staff continues to be wonderful and the restaurants onsite are fantastic.

Anna and Feli were very welcoming upon arrival, and check-in was quick and hassle-free. The room was clean, comfortable, and overall a pleasant stay. The only downside was that the hot tub wasn’t working during our visit. I notice a dirty side table by the couch full of finger prints.

Lovely property, great pool, and two very different restaurants in the hotel for any taste or budget. Anna was excellent checking us in, friendly and very helpful. The room was tastefully appointed, clean, and comfortable. Would stay again!

Fitness center needs some TLC.

Very nice hotel, we had a suite room even with in room washer and dryer. Comfy and nice. The hot tub was not working but they said they had a part on order. The reception staff very helpful and kind. The cleaning was sporadic and the menu system for room cleaning was confusing . Over all a very nice place to say just 20 mins from the airport

There were some complications during our stay (power outage while in the pool, noisy equipment outside our window, hot tub jets failed). However the parking was easy, the Denny's in the hotel was clean and staff were great, AND the hotel manager made good when we left and was very apologetic about the concerns. Would return based on manager experience.

Parking lot was incredibly busy and hard to navigate. Too many Denny’s and Chop customers parking directly in front of the hotel. Consider restaurant parking and hotel parking differentiation?

We had a wonderful stay the room was great. The staff were wonderful and friendly. We use the exercise room, which was nice. We would’ve loved to use the hot tub but it was out of order. That was the only bad part. Other than that which is minor. It was great. We would definitely stay there again.

COCKROACH! We stayed here July 12-13, 2025. We woke up and had showers, all of a sudden a cockroach was found on the bathroom counter running around. We killed it and took photos and videos. Front desk said they were inspected last Friday. Also, the shower was dirty with other peoples hair, took photos also. Last thing, we didn’t appreciate the front desk announcing our room number out loud in front of everyone.

The front desk staff Anna was an absolute pleasure along with the other girl working with her(didn’t get her name) The room was okay, the bed wasn’t that comfortable ( you can tell it was well used) the dishes in the cupboard were dirty and some utensils. The shower curtain had something questionable on the one side, there was mold and pink bacteria on the tile between the tub to tile and the room overall needs a deep clean. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink and tub stopper wouldn’t stay open. The fridge froze all my food despite being on low.The pool in the hotel needs cleaning as there is a dirty ring around the tile and the bathroom in there was mouldy and dirty with no towels for when you get out of the pool. Overall we will never go back to this hotel.

Clean room

Found blood in our sheets. We were transferred to a clean room but had to wake up our sleeping son at 11pm. We did get our pet fee given back. Still waiting to see if we get reimbursed from this stay.

I checked in Friday afternoon for 3 nights. There were some dirty dishes on the floor in my hallway. They were still there when I came home from dinner Sunday evening. Monday morning they were gone but there were food remnants from the dishes still on the carpet where the dishes had been sitting.

Room was dirty, bedsheets was dirty. Really bad experience.

Got bit by bed bugs in room 226

Room smelled musty and obvious moisture problems at A/C. Got put right next to the ice machine which was enjoyable as you heard it through the evening. Overall not very impressed with the hotel.

We enjoyed our room but the air conditioning kept cutting in when the thermostat was set for heat, making our room very cool.

Small room, comfortable bed.

Room had a really weird layout. Hotel was outdated.

Small 30” TV in a “suite” room. Didn’t even have satellite TV. Really small room for the price point paid. Pictures of the room were in correctly advertised and did not match what was sold. Thermostat worked but heater would kick on for 60 seconds or so every couple minute to keep room warm, it was loud and effected sleep when it inconsistently ran.

I forgot this was the hotel that I abruptly left the last time I stayed at a sandman when I was visiting Edmonton. Ended up booking here and realized my mistake but endured anyway. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a modern hotel and the staff are friendly but that’s about it. The furniture in the rooms needs to be replaced. The mattresses are sagging from use, same with the couches in the suites. You can tell they were cheap pieces of furniture and even look indented when the beds are made. They are okay for 1 night to sleep on but be prepared for a sore back on continued use. The ice machines on each floor need replacement as well. Either they didn’t install a vibration pad or the bearings are shot in them. Every time they cycle on, the rooms shake. Doesn’t matter if it’s the machine on the floor below you or the floor above you, it vibrates directly into the room. It either feels like an earthquake or sounds like an airplane is taking off in the room. The heaters are basically toast as well. The bedroom heater couldn't put out any heat, just pushed out cold air. Pretty awesome when temps are -15C. When I had called for it to be looked at, a cleaner had come and told me what I already knew - it’s not putting out heat. She said that maintenance would be there in the morning when they came on shift. No one showed up. The hotel needs some money to be put in and revamp it. Everything in the room was worn out. This isn't a budget hotel either, so you'd expect more for the cost.

Beds, pillows were really comfortable. Room was very clean. Loved the magnified lit mirror in the bathroom. The tea and coffee were really good. Not the typical red rose! Staff efficient and really friendly

I didn’t like how small the was. Also, the air conditioner in the room was so loud, it kept waking me up when kicking in and out.

We had an awesome layout for two young kids with their own beds in one room and myself and wife in the other. Bathroom was a nice layout and having all the space it provided worked out well.

Suite Rooms could do with a decor refresh / update, the seating area dark and dingy a few things need some maintenance, also better lighting, very bright white lights not very relaxing. Bathroom not great layout, limited space and no working fan. Please at least update your coffee machines! Overall would not book a suite there again not worth the money !

Beautiful bedroom with Jacuzzi and walk in shower. Super comfy bed and bedding. Sharp staples sticking out where the carpet meets jacuzzi tile, be careful ouch! Busy and noisy outside if you’re a light sleeper. Nice kitchenette and couch area smallish and dark.

Friendly staff upon checkin, received a room upgrade complimentary, room was clean, spacious, shower was hot, fluffy towels!

Staff was very friendly. They offered me an upgraded room for waiting a little longer at check in. My room was very clean and the bed and pillows were really comfy.

It all started with the first steps in the door. Welcoming and friendly staff, carried a pleasant conversation rather than the routine “hi, how are you” that quickly turns into silence. A tremendous change of pace. Hotel room was wonderful, clean and comfortable.

We were upsold to the jacuzzi suite which we didn’t use (our fault I guess). The jacuzzi wasn’t really that inviting or big compared to other hotels we have stayed at and were underwhelmed. Chop was ok, but just ok. Servings were small and blah. Denny’s breakfast is what you would expect. We asked for and were given a late checkout of 1:30 the evening before. No one mentioned the cards would shut off at 12 - minor inconvenience to reset. The maid came to clean just after 12 and we had to advise her of the late check out. About 25 min later a man entered our room and asked if we were checking out. Felt very rushed to leave despite being told good until 130. I didn’t find this sandman as nice or inviting as other Sandman’s I’ve stayed at. This is our second time at this hotel in the past few years and both experiences were basically the same.

Fast and efficient check in. Room upgrade upon arrival and a gift card for the excellent on site restaurants. Room was clean and well organized, very nice

They overbooked and the room was not existing and i was left sleeping in my vheicle as there was no room available in the whole city. The lady at the fron desk was extremely rude and said was not hotels fault for overbooking. She treated me like she is superior to me and i am just a miserable not even human being. People like that should learn some manners and rispect others.

Second stay at this hotel and we would sure stay again . From Navi and the reception team to the cleaning staff . Notthing is to much trouble for these guys. Rooms cleaned on request supplies replenished daily . Bus stops outside to Century Park and the for just 5.00 CAD you can get the 747 bus direct to the airport . Will stay again . Thank to all the team

Staff were amazing, Naveen and Scott at the front desk were amazing and helped us with our baggage twice! Keep up the great work

The hotel was conveniently located, quiet, safe and provided two different dining options.

The front desk clerks were amazing and the hotel is well run with great dining at Chop. The only issue was road noise in the night so we had to use ear plugs!

Great location to Edmontons’ restaurants and activities.

We had a great stay at the Sandman Signature Edmonton South. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was quiet and the location was close to shops, restaurants and the highway. I would stay again if the opportunity arise.

Being close to south Edmonton Common area and walking distance from amazing food options.

Great location as a central spot for getting around. Lots of dining options immediately within a block. Room was spacious, well kept, and the bed and pillows were perfect for a great night sleep. Staff was very courteous, you can tell the entire property takes pride. Excellent for those who are planning on flying or arriving.

Great hotel but does not feel safe. Very sketchy people standing around the lobby and outside speaking jibberish. Clearly on something. Staff will not have them removed.

Nice place about 15 minutes from the airport. 10-15 minute walk to the nearest market. Plenty of places to eat around the area. Uber and Lyft are cheap as well. Room was great with a washer and dryer but the soap wasn’t provided.

Many homeless people moving around property. Gang members with gang clothing hanging out at the hotel. The floor we were on had slopping and uneven floors which threw me off balance when walking to our room and the room itself had bad floors with a cabinet that was totally off balance and looked like it could tip over.

Easy to get to, Chop and Denny’s restaurants attached to the building. Clean and very inviting upon entering the lobby. The room was awesome and also very clean and well organized. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

This is a tired old hotel that keeps the signature name in the title but there is not much signature about it. The only good thing is it is attached to two restaurants which means you do not need to take your car. The beds were spring soft and they did not change the bed or clean the room while I was there. No breakfast included.

My stay was very nice as always. The music in the halls is a bit loud in the evenings. And dennys was horrible. I know its not the hotels responsibility but the evening staff and cooks were not great, unfortunately it reflects towards the hotel to most people.

Beautiful hotel. Large room, everything clean and looking brand new. The restaurants weee excellent. Denny’s was great for breakfast. Chops was one of the best steakhouses I have enjoyed. Both were tied into the hotel, a very short walk from our room. Silent at night. Overall a great hotel.

Ordered fish and chips from restaurant…looked and tasted like a frozen TV dinner…not impressed
