The staff at the front desk were friendly and the property well appointed. The gym is located in a funky location and required someone from the front desk to help locate. Recommend perhaps adding a QR code to room to help guests understand how to navigate in room dining, car return, etc. I did not initially receive the concierge text so had to inquire about these things - a QR code would aid both guests and staff. When checking in I was asked if I needed a luggage cart - I did - but no offer to help get it up to my room so ended up taking up and returning myself. Some minor tweaks to the guest experience would help.

Once again The Park James delivers. Very happy. If I had one wish it would be for the kitchen to be open later (last call 8:45). If appetizers were available from the bar till midnight or so, that would be great

It’s a very nice hotel with friendly staff. I didn’t like the mandatory valet parking for $30 per day. But it was necessary since there was not any other long term parking nearby. However the valet staff was friendly and accommodating. Valet parking did make it convenient, just expensive when you tack on taxes and tips.

Came on Sunday evening and restaurant and bar where closed - not open on Sundays - make this more clear on the web site. As nice as shower was, you need to have grab bars in the shower……we are elderly and not quite as agile as we were in our 30’s and 40’s.

PRO: Great location, decent rooms, staff are attentive, and reasonably priced by a hotel in Silicon Valley. CON: Very Spartan exercise room, annoying and loud music in the courtyard every evening, and both times I have stayed there the restaurant has been amazingly bad (understaffed, mediocre fare, extremely slow).

The property is very inviting, for me it is just the right size. I am able to enjoy a cocktail and a bite to eat on the open air patio. They do have indoor seating also. The valet makes it extra easy.

Great place to stay in Menlo Park. Room was very clean and surprisingly quiet given that it is located on a busy street.staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee was put out very early (4:30am) in the lobby which was great for those of us on EST Coast Time! Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean and the staff courteous. The only problem was the street noise. There is train track just behind the Hotel, Hotel is on a busy street and at 6 am a fuel tanker truck stopped on the side of our room and for one whole hour he was making a very loud noise pumping fuel. When I told the front desk at the checkout, he said oh this was the first time I saw the truck!!!

Customer service is stellar here. The hotel is beautiful, the room was spacious and relaxing. The restaurant and bar servers are five star. My only complaint is that the Wifi and cell service from the room was extremely poor. Had to go down to the lobby to do work.

Truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel while on business in Menlo Park. Love the high ceilings and the absence of carpet in the room. And the on-site restaurant is a very good spot to grab dinner in the evening (the whole breakfast operation, however, could be professionalized...)

The wi-fi went out during my stay which was a real issue given I was on a business trip and the hotel has very poor cell reception. Bathrooms did not have several basic toiletry items (cotton pads and swabs, shower cap, slippers) although did have sewing kits. My room faced the street so there was a fair amount of road noise. The front desk is also staffed by only one person and there is no bell or other way to reach them if they step away (as they seem to do, quite often).

The hotel had a front desk person in the early hours that had very poor customer service skills and lacking of interpersonal grace. It pretty much ruined the vibe of my trip and those of my friends. Only takes one event. And more often than not, it defines the outlook of the hotel itself.

My daughter and I came for a trip to tour Stanford and this hotel was fantastic! It was super clean and new. The service was outstanding (especially Tony at the front desk), Rene in the restaurant and everyone else we encountered. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the atmosphere was lovely and the food delicious. We loved the outdoor patio but were unable to enjoy it due to the rain and cold. This would be a perfect spot to enjoy cocktails in the spring.

The staff was very unfriendly. There is something a miss with how they treat patrons. We checked in and they told us all the food options. Then the same staff member, josh, said there would be no food options for the entire day. Sundays they don't do food.

My wife and I love Park James. Whenever we stay in the Bay Area, we stay at Park James. Conveniently located in the middle of the peninsula so you can drive anywhere. The rooms are really nice and they are clean. The bed is really comfortable (I'm really picky). The bar is awesome. Haven't eaten dinner at the restaurant yet but numerous people we know rave about it. Stanford shopping mall is right down the street. The staff is always friendly and helpful every time we stay there. Would highly recommend stay there.
