Convenient spot at Picnic Bay 200 metre walk to cafes, pub , beach and playground . Much less busy than Horseshoe bay which we loved . Great walk up the mountain for sunset. Not too hard we did it with pre schooler . Classic beach house high ceilings tiled floor well equiped kitchen with some extras like salt pepper glad wrap and some spices well appreciated . Fans and air con not needed as June was lovely days 27 and cooler nights . However no fly screens so we couldn’t leave windows open . No mozzies but geckos and other night creatures ( wallabies in the lawn !) very exciting . Beds were not super comfortable fairly firm so a few toppers would be great . Otherwise really enjoyable and big enough for our family with 5 bedrooms .

By the end of our stay, we embraced the house and its location - we had the best time. That said the property is unusual as it is more like 2 complete houses stacked on top of each other.Initially we found the architecture a challenge as we are a group of retirees, and definitely not the demographic the multi-level house is designed for. Specifically for us, there are no internal stairs and on the top floor there is a step up from the verandas to inside the house, with 2 steps in the main bedroom up into the ensuite. We did get used to it (and used torches if we got up during the night) but it's something for other mature groups to consider. Equipment was good - including a coffee machine and good knives (rare in our experience) - the chefs in our group had a ball. The location is great. frequently we wandered down to the beachfront a couple of hundred metres away and had coffees, lunches, dinners and drinks at the brewery. Picnic Bay is lovely and the property provides great access.

This is the third time we have stayed at this property. I think that speaks for itself.

Mark and Megan were excellent hosts and looked after us very well. Their house was large and spacious and perfect for a family gathering of 10 adults
