Loved our stay here, only cons about this hotel is that literally NOTHING is included. Its a nice, clean oceanfront hotel with a small pool and its own restaurant. No daily house keeping or room service. We only stayed for 3 days so no cleaning options are available at all which isn’t great because you will be stuck with sand in your hotel room for the remaining days. PARKING is not included they only offer valet which is $15 a day, UMBRELLAS AND BEACH CHAIRS are also not included you have to rent them from the restaurant For the day which costs around $15 for the umbrella and I believe $18 for each chair. They bring them to the beach for you and someone comes to take them before sun down. If you plan on exploring the area you will need a car.

Our room was very nice and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The Valet service was excellent. Things to keep in mind: 1. The kitchenette area does not have any dishes or utensils other than the paper coffee cups. 2. You are restricted from taking any coolers, personal drinks or food on the beach. 3. There is no self parking, Valet only. It’s only $25 a day, though so it’s not unreasonable and they get your vehicle quickly. 4. The pool area is small and there is no hot tub. None of this was a deal breaker for us, but it is good information to have before booking.

Was a nice place to stay, valet parking was can get costly but the staff were friendly and easy to work with. Front desk was great, very polite, knowledgeable, room was nice but I wish there was a map of the room numbers to see which had balconies and which did not. Chairs in room need deep cleaning or replacement...lots of stains. Pool was great, beach was the best, the beach chairs and umbrellas were clean and in good condition. Restaurant is not run by facility but staff were nice, food was so so. All in all we had a great time and this is a nice place to stay and we will be back.

The hotel itself is super cute. Clean and in a great area. But their valet system….if you check in before 2:00 pm (as in you come early to enjoy the amenities), they will charge you an extra day of valet. Meaning instead of $25 for a one night stay, we were charged $50 because we arrived at 12:30 pm to enjoy the pool and beach. There is no where else around to park for free so you’re stuck. Really really disappointing. But other than that, the stay was really great.

Nice on-beach location. However, the beach was closed the entire time we were there. They do not clean their rooms, expect to do that yourself or incur a fee. Not enough space around pool to accommodate guests. People were going down and standing in line in the morning to secure a sun bed, and would then hold it all day so that others could not use them.

The property was under construction. There was constant jack hammering from 9Am-4Pm. The rooms vert very small. Hotel staff were very helpful and attentive. The hotel restaurant was overpriced and all beach and bike rentals went through them. The hotel was very clean and as I said the staff was very professional.

The room was clean and spacious, with a great ocean view, bed was comfortable . Staff at front desk was friendly as well as the phone concierge. The service at the restaurant needs to be faster though. The food was good but we had to wait almos an hour for two gyro sandwiches. Their menu is very basic, and you are not allowed to bring ouside food or drinks. Something we didn't expect either was that we had to pay extra for each beach chair.

To be honest it was terrible. The room was super small and it was dirty. The bathtub was dirty with old gunk stuck to it. We cleaned it. The cold water didnt work. The bedding was stained. The walls were super thin and we could hear the carts and cleaners going by as well as every conversation that took place outside our room. I asked to switched or upgrade rooms the first day we arrived but was told they were booked up and the place was near empty. It was just an overall bad experience.

Poor signage to identify hotel location, no option for self park whatsoever, our specific room would not darken for sleeping due to hallway light coming thru entryway door, bathroom door swung into very small bathroom making use difficult for two persons and large tv placed to right side of bed…very awkward.

Good location and right on the beach. However , I did not like the hotel and it's amenities. The room was very basic, the comforter was not properly cleaned and the room was very noisy, from the air conditioning unit to the guests in the other room who kept shouting loudly and also the door non-stop at all hours of the night. Worst place I've ever stayed at.

Very nice and accommodating staff and renovated rooms. Stayed for a week in two different rooms. Two double bed room nice size. The studio very very small. Zero closet space in either room. Had long gowns for a wedding with no place to hang them. Needs a place to get snacks, sodas as there is nothing in the immediate vicinity and you have to valet park so in/out is not that easy (although valets were very quick and nice). Restaurant on property slow as molasses. Also, the beach was closed without warning for some sort of renovation mid week, which was huge disappointment and the pool area not big enough to accommodate all guest if you can’t also use beach.

They advertise that you will get a good rate on a beachside hotel. However, they also charge about $40 a day for parking, plus in order to request a late check out, they charge you for that as well. And, I asked for a King bed due to our situation, and guess what…for a fee they could do that for us. So your great rate ends up being the same or higher than you would have gotten at other hotels. Also our room was TINY. Could barely walk around the queen size bed. If you don’t mind spending a lot more money than anticipated, it’s clean, easy access to the beach, and good free bfast.

The room was nice - the bathroom outlet didn’t work so I had to use the outlet that was behind the night stand to blow dry my hair. Breakfast service the first day was great, today I waited for my server for 20 minutes before I decided to leave. There were only 5 tables with guests. The elevator takes forever! Also, they wanted me to pay an extra $40 to check in 90 min early. If the price was right, I might consider staying there again, but probably not.

Jeannie at the front desk was an amazing delight. Was very attentive to all our needs and is a Superstar at her position. The property is very quiet and secluded from all the other hotels close by. Stayed here before and will continue to keep staying here.

Parking is a big issue! They charge $25 a day and it’s a separate company. I was able to check in at 1:00 but valet only recognizes a 2:00 check in so $50 was my fee. I only stayed overnight so when I went to check out the next day, I decided to pay cash but the attendant decided to pocket my cash , told me he would text the receipt waiting on his manager,and charge my credit card. So I paid $100 went back to the hotel fighting for my $50 back. The parking is the reason I would never stay at this hotel again as check out is recognized only at 2 o’clock so if you decide to enjoy the beach for the day after 2 o’clock, you’re paying another $25. Completely ridiculous when you check into a hotel that should be when your time starts so if I would’ve enjoyed the beach, I was paying $75 for an overnight fee. Definitely not OK.

Really enjoyed our stay here the hotel was nice, pool closes at 8pm for anyone questioning. Jeanie was very sweet with holding our bags before our check in time. Enjoyed the location with being beach side however would recommend getting a rental car if flying down. Also they charge for valet but the employees were quick to grab your car when you requested it. Overall highly recommend.

The experience would’ve been much better if the staff was more hospitable. The gentleman working at the bar and grill for majority of our stay was rude and the least bit helpful. He wouldn’t even enter the pool gate to deliver us our food and drinks. We would have to meet him at the gate. He also made us bring the hotel beach chairs down to the beach from the hotel ourselves. The other gentleman named Raul who unfortunately was only there for one of our days, was amazing. He was attentive, he was on the beach and at the pool taking orders. He was great. The other guy kind of ruined our experience.

To Whom It May Concern, I recently stayed at your property, and unfortunately, my experience was far below acceptable standards. I’m writing to formally request a full refund due to the following issues: • The location was extremely inconvenient far from anything as described. • I spent $150 on dinner and $120 on breakfast, both of which were significantly overpriced. • The room had no phone, old soap, and a shower that wouldn’t close properly. • The TV lost antenna service for hours, and there was no laundry room available. • The pool and balcony were both very small, and the balcony did not provide a beach view as advertised. • I found pieces of hair in my bed, and the bed was uncomfortably low to the floor. • I was placed directly in front of the elevator, which caused constant noise throughout the night. • The staff was unhelpful and dismissive, making me feel unwelcome as if I didn’t belong there. The only positive experience I had was with the restaurant server, who was kind and professional. Due to all of these issues, I checked out the very next day. I genuinely feel I was misled by the description and treated unfairly, and I am requesting a full refund for the stay

Where to start… I have stays at other Sonder hotels and have loved it. This one… the valet parking was aweful, tight , staff was difficulr, asking the hotel for help with valet and was informed “they don’t work for us can’t do anything for you. They were having construction on site and did not inform the guest of the constant drilling sound all day long - the elevators were broken, not great having to talk down 3 flight of stairs with bad knees. Talk about noise… all day and and all night… if you are going to have a hotel for god sake insulate the floor properly so condones every single noise on the floor about me / it’s so bad - I wonder if the people above me were moving furniture around. Room doors are designed to slam shut. And finally - Sunday at 10:45am because of construction they triggered the fire alarm and yup “everyone evacuate” and then let the mayhem begine. The employee that worked the front desk was clueless and bless his heart had no idea what to do. Do not recommend stays here and was highly disappointed.

This place was comfortable and quiet. There is a $25 mandatory valet fee each night, which was annoying to find out about in the moment. However, the valet service was very nice and professional. Food and stores are not really in convenient walking distance, but that’s part of what made the stay nice and quiet. We would come back.

The Hillsboro Hotel is a beautiful space. The lobby and communal space is gorgeous! I loved spending some time on the private beach and the lounge. The restaurant onsite is a bit expensive but the food is really good. The hotel is a long walk away from any other restaurants. The room is really nice and spacious.

Property was a bitt hard to find in the dark since there is no sign that says "The Hillsboro"- you have to look for a very tiny orange sign that has the address number on it and the driveway is almost hidden. Once there, though, the staff was great, the hotel was clean and looked freshly renovated, and the room was clean. My one suggestion would be too better weather-seal the rooms since the tile floors were slick with condensation from the humidity of the day.

Property was beautiful. Right on the water with a private beach. Pool and gym are great. The whole building is updated and in great condition. It’s a bit far from dining and shopping centers and the traffic can be difficult at times. Also you do pay for valet/parking so be aware. Staff was helpful. Room is minimalist but great.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. The matrress could be a bit firmer but thats a personal preference. The food must be eaten in your room unless you order from the restaurant which opens at 8.30 for breakfast which is too late if you have young kids. The location is amazing in front of the beacb and the pool is suffiwntly large. The valet is $25 per day with in and out priviledges which was nice. Would recommend and stay again.

I had a quick two day getaway with my sister. It was perfect. Nice, peaceful and beautiful. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing I didn't think was great was the restaurant. It always seemed like only one person was working, and very limited overpriced menu. The drinks were just ok, and thought it was weird they didn't make them out in front of you. They made them in the back. Other than that, everything was great. I also enjoyed the option of renting the onsite bikes, since there really isn't anything super close in walking distance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and have another stay planned.

Overall the stay was fine. We stayed there for one night. the location and the view was perfect. Parking was also good. It was valet parking with in/out privileges. Check-in was a breeze. The room itself was good, but there were some issues. The A/C in the living room was non-functional and did not respond to changing thermostat. The coffeemaker was also not working correctly. However we got by. The main issue was with the restaurant. The food was good but the service was slow. Furthermore, the restaurant charged 20% service charge to the bill, which is fine. However the hostess lied and mentioned that the tip is not covered and asked us to tip her. She made sure that the credit card was wrapped with the check so we do not see the amount on it. I thought this was very deceptive. Practices like this are make or break and I would now think twice before staying at this facility or sonder managed facility. Traveler s beware and double check the restaurant bill and push back if they say tip is not covered.

The hotel itself was very nice. However, the restaurant, Ya Mas, at the hotel is very overpriced. You cannot bring outside food into the beach or pool area and therefore, must buy food from the restaurant, which again is very overpriced. Everything is an additional cost - beach chairs (and you can’t bring your own), bikes, water etc. You have to pay to park at the hotel which is $25 a night. However, we got there early (1 pm, as opposed to the 4pm check in time) which caused them to charge us an additional $25, even though we still were only parked at the hotel for 24 hours. I would not stay here again due to the extra amount of money I had to spend just to be able to use the facilities of the hotel.

I was disappointed by the food at the YaMas Grill on premises. The fact that it was the only food allowed on the beach, breezeway or pool is a huge drawback and would definitely prevent me from returning. But, it also was overpriced and not very tasty.

The service at the restaurant needs to be faster though. The food was good but we had to wait almos an hour for two gyro sandwiches. Their menu is very basic, and you are not allowed to bring ouside food or drinks. Something we didn't expect either was that we had to pay extra for each beach chair.

Great little hotel, modern, nice pool, nice private beach with umbrellas and chairs. The ocean is very nice and warm. I got a corner room with a balcony and a view of the ocean. Note valet parking only $29 per day and if you want to check in early or checkout late there are fees associated
