There are only positive things we cd think of to say about the little gem of a hotel. Location is only a short walk from train and right in the centre of gorgeous Bacharach. Literally over the road from the scenic Rhine 100 metres away to sit on the benches and watch the barges go by. A train track in between but noise didn’t bother us at all. We were on the first floor with no lift but helpful man at reception took our cases upstairs without being asked. Lovely well planned out spotless room with quaint views of buildings in UNESCO Heritage town. Breakfast was included and one of the best we have had travelling around Europe. Huge choice. Hotel manager seemed to also be the chef and came around to each table to check we were satisfied. He was very helpful and friendly with perfect English which was helpful for us Aussies. The walk up to the castle is worth the effort if you are able bodied. The views are spectacular. Lots of eating places for evening meal.

We really love this hotel and this experience we had a view that wants to die for. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The only problem was the minimal extremely tight parking.

The hotel has all new facilities, renovated rooms and ice cold air conditioning for those hot days. The restraunt is among the best and it appears the locals agree and eat there as well.

Helt enastående! Mycket pittoreskt på ringmuren i den lilla men mysiga staden Bacharach. Vi hade turen att få ett stort dubbelrum med separat toalett och badrum. Dessutom egen bastu! Dock för varmt ute för att vilja använda - men gav en lyxig prägel till rummet.

The staff was friendly and professional, the location was perfect--right in the heart of a beautiful town along the Rhine River, and the room was very comfortable and air conditioning was great. The best part, however, was the food! Breakfast options were delicious and there was so much to choose from. Coffee was excellent and juices, breads, meats, cheese, yogurts, etc were so fresh and delicious. Dinner was outstanding, with local ingredients. We enjoyed meat that was slow-cooked with wine sauce. Service was great. It was the perfect stay!

Best hotel of the 7 during our trip. Parking was easy, the best restaurant in Bacharach is in their lobby, and they have air conditioning! Overall a very nice property and value.

If you are looking for charm, this is the hotel for you. Conveniently located in the town center near the train station and near pick up points for 2 different Rhine River boat lines. The rooms have been updated but kept some of the half-timber construction. We reserved the Queen bedroom with a queen sofa bed for just the two of us to give us some extra room and we needed it. The bathroom was a little tight but doable. We also got a 3rd floor room with a LOVELY view of the river. Pluses: there are double windows to keep out the train noise, a WONDERFUL gourmet restaurant downstairs where the owner Andreas works his magic, a nice breakfast, and parking available by entrance with no extra charge. We noticed there was an air-conditioner in the room, but we didn't need it during our stay. Negatives: No elevator, but Andreas carried our luggage up to our rooms, and there were also steep stairs from parking to entrance.

Charming hotel in a very charming village. Much quieter and beautiful than Rüdesheim, Bingen, st Goar etc. friendly owners of the hotel. Nice breakfast. And highly recommend dinner at hotel. Free bikes to borrow. Best place to walk and see old town and vinyards

Only excellent things to say. The property was alive with energy during the day which made for a great experience as we would begin and end our days here. The breakfast was amazing and the restaurant in the hotel is fantastic. The chef is a real gentleman and take pride and pleasure in his menu. The details show in the food, and the hospitality and service of the hotel. Located in a beautiful town, it is not hard to enjoy the surroundings. However the hotel provides you with public transport schedules upon arrive as apart of their information booklet. The sauna in room 18 where we stayed was an excellent addition, especially after long days hiking and walking around the many castles in this area. You will not go wrong with this stay.

We loved our stay with Andreas. It was a great first stop for us. The dining is amazing. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The walk around Bacharach was delightful. Great access by train up and down the Rhine. We would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

Staff were good and responsive to any needs. Well located hotel next to a gate tower dating from the 1300’s. The restaurant likely deserves its high ratings. The dinner I had there was exceptional led off by superb potato soup. I appreciated the owner/chef stopping by my table. The only negative was the small size of my room.

Cute little hotel in a good location. The staff in the hotel were wonderful. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The restaurant in the Rhein hotel was fantastic! I highly recommend it for dinner, absolutely delicious! There breakfast was lovely as well.

The staff was friendly and professional, the location was perfect--right in the heart of a beautiful town along the Rhine River, and the room was very comfortable and air conditioning was great. The best part, however, was the food! Breakfast options were delicious and there was so much to choose from. Coffee was excellent and juices, breads, meats, cheese, yogurts, etc were so fresh and delicious. Dinner was outstanding, with local ingredients. We enjoyed meat that was slow-cooked with wine sauce. Service was great. It was the perfect stay!

The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and coffee was waiting for us at the table in the morning. So glad we booked this place. We truly felt welcomed.

There are only positive things we cd think of to say about the little gem of a hotel. Location is only a short walk from train and right in the centre of gorgeous Bacharach. Literally over the road from the scenic Rhine 100 metres away to sit on the benches and watch the barges go by. A train track in between but noise didn’t bother us at all. We were on the first floor with no lift but helpful man at reception took our cases upstairs without being asked. Lovely well planned out spotless room with quaint views of buildings in UNESCO Heritage town. Breakfast was included and one of the best we have had travelling around Europe. Huge choice. Hotel manager seemed to also be the chef and came around to each table to check we were satisfied. He was very helpful and friendly with perfect English which was helpful for us Aussies. The walk up to the castle is worth the effort if you are able bodied. The views are spectacular. Lots of eating places for evening meal.

If you are looking for charm, this is the hotel for you. Conveniently located in the town center near the train station and near pick up points for 2 different Rhine River boat lines. The rooms have been updated but kept some of the half-timber construction. We reserved the Queen bedroom with a queen sofa bed for just the two of us to give us some extra room and we needed it. The bathroom was a little tight but doable. We also got a 3rd floor room with a LOVELY view of the river. Pluses: there are double windows to keep out the train noise, a WONDERFUL gourmet restaurant downstairs where the owner Andreas works his magic, a nice breakfast, and parking available by entrance with no extra charge. We noticed there was an air-conditioner in the room, but we didn't need it during our stay. Negatives: No elevator, but Andreas carried our luggage up to our rooms, and there were also steep stairs from parking to entrance.

This is a perfectly lovely place in Bacharach. We stayed two nights and slept well thanks to the good soundproofing and comfy bed. The restaurant serves outstanding slow food which captures the taste of the region. Wonderful service, too. Breakfast was delicious and included many options. There's fairly little in the way of packaging - even the muesli came apportioned in glass bowls. So nice to see. The owners are always onsite and have a deep connection to the business and to the region. We'll be back the next time we're in the area.

The hotel has all new facilities, renovated rooms and ice cold air conditioning for those hot days. The restraunt is among the best and it appears the locals agree and eat there as well.

Staff were good and responsive to any needs. Well located hotel next to a gate tower dating from the 1300’s. The restaurant likely deserves its high ratings. The dinner I had there was exceptional led off by superb potato soup. I appreciated the owner/chef stopping by my table. The only negative was the small size of my room.

Cute little hotel in a good location. The staff in the hotel were wonderful. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The restaurant in the Rhein hotel was fantastic! I highly recommend it for dinner, absolutely delicious! There breakfast was lovely as well.

Only excellent things to say. The property was alive with energy during the day which made for a great experience as we would begin and end our days here. The breakfast was amazing and the restaurant in the hotel is fantastic. The chef is a real gentleman and take pride and pleasure in his menu. The details show in the food, and the hospitality and service of the hotel. Located in a beautiful town, it is not hard to enjoy the surroundings. However the hotel provides you with public transport schedules upon arrive as apart of their information booklet. The sauna in room 18 where we stayed was an excellent addition, especially after long days hiking and walking around the many castles in this area. You will not go wrong with this stay.

The self check in and out was unnecessary and duplicated info the hotel already had. The room had shag pile carpet in the room which is not the cleanest or most hygienic floor covering. The breakfast was disappointing and not what we expected for a property with a restaurant. Hotel is at the side of a main railway line with trains running all night. In summary, OK for a night but I wouldn't go back.
