Went to this motel from the positive reviews I saw online and man was I happy I did! Absolutely fabulous staff, a huge shout out to Jackie! The room I had was a queen size room, easy to park in front of, small but works well with two people. Yes the building is old, and you'll notice it has some wear and tear, but if you can overlook that, it is a cute, cozy place to call temporarily home. They also have a cute outdoor setup that you can sit and relax if you wish, I utilized it to cook my meals outside which they allowed happily! Check in and out was absolutely fabulous, let alone any and all questions I had were eagerly answered. Seriously, the staff really outdid themselves! I highly recommend you considering this place for your stay, it's small, it's quaint, the road noise is not that bad, it's not near any major busy highways, And you can get conveniently into hoquiam as well as under 30 minute drive to the ocean.

The motel is small and quiet. We meet the new owners, Jackie and Martin. They were very nice and welcoming. They are in the process of fixing it up so it will be all Shiny again. Things we loved most: -pet friendly -gas grill and sitting area -close to Aberdeen to get prepped for journey across the US When we make it back to the area, we will definitely stay there again!

Shiny is a family run operation. The property is older and the owners are making improvements. The room was super clean and the foam beds are new and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pavilion where a fire pit exists. The towels were the best we have used in some time. They shared some of their plants with the wife for her garden. We would recommend Shiny and would stay there again. No breakfast, but that is within 5 miles (Denny's, etc.) Very quiet. It is nice to patronize people who care about their property and your experience.

This is my go-to place when I am in Ocean Shores for business. The rooms are always clean. My supply of coffee always gets replenished. Parking is very easy and it is convenient to activities on the coast. I cannot tell you how many times I have stayed here. At least six or eight.

This was a nice, quiet and convenient little motel with the nicest owners. They made us feel welcome and made our stay with our dog easy and convenient. Would definitely stay again next time we pass through.

The room was huge..two separate bedrooms, a kitchen and dining and living room. HOWEVER the rooms smelled SO moldy that we actually had to leave and check into another motel. I think this place is a he as lth hazard.

What a wonderful large accommodation. A bit outdated but very clean and neat. We were happy to have a separate bedroom and kitchen living room. Was a smart TV…big plus as we don’t care for “regular “ TV. The bed was very comfortable with soft heavy sheets (I appreciate good sheets!). The woman in the office was very friendly I’d give the place 5 stars if: it didn’t have a weird funky damp smell (I do have a super sensitive nose!). I noticed it but my husband didn’t. Also in the bathroom there was a door to adjoin it with the room next door that even while shut and locked there was a peekaboo gap. There was no one in the room next door but it felt pretty weird. Despite of the cons I would definitely go back there.

For the price I paid I would expect the property to be in a bit better shape. There was a ridiculous amount of exposed and "Jerry rigged" wiring in the unit. The floors were uneven, the paint was in very bad shape and some of the wall coverings were install using a staple gun and the staples were sticking out fairly far. The sink was filthy, there was a used wash cloth left in the shower and a couple of napkins left behind by the previous guest. Pretty sad. On the positive side the front desk staff was very friendly.

The tv and wi-fi were good. The carpet was very dirty. The entrance door had a very loose door handle and the door was dirty on the inside and it was difficult to open and close. There was a lot of traffic noise.

Im not usually the type to bother with leaving reviews... But From the moment i arrived, and the owner greeted me with a smile in the parking lot and walked me into the office, i was instantly knew i made the right choice! Checking in was quick and simple. She was very helpful and informative. She answered any questions without me needing to ask them. I could tell that its important to her that her guests enjoy their stay. She was very sweet and kind. When i entered the room, i immediately noticed how clean and tidy it was. Although it was probably the hottest day of the summer so far, the room was surprisingly comfortable temperature. There was instructions for the tv remotes, and wifi passwords clearly posted. The tv was a roku tv so i was able to connect to my streaming accounts. The shower was great with hot water that never ran out. The bed was amazing. Very comfortable, soft sheets and pillows. Dont let the cheap rates fool you, they could easily charge as much if not more than all the other motels in the area. I highly recommend and I look forward to coming back!! :)

Great little motel. A little highway noise but not bad. The couple that own it are charming and very welcoming. Retro vibe to the room, but has up to date TV with Direct TV. Wifi available as well. Decent water pressure with multi-function shower head. Beds were good. Stay here...you will enjoy.

Checkin was easy and staff was super nice. Room was pretty nice. Beds were quite comfortable. TV and Direct TV worked well. Nice medium-sized refrigerator/freezer. Just a couple negatives: road noise was significant as we were in a room closest to the road. Also ran out of hot water after one shower. We got up late so I may have been the last one in the complex to take a shower.

Older mom & pop motel but well maintained. Comfy king bed, fridge, micro, coffee maker in clean room. Wide door to bathroom. The portable A/C barely kept room cool. The manager is very nice and very helpful. Good value for the area.

The room we got was basically a two-bedroom apartment. It had a full kitchen the shower was great, the living room setup was so relaxing to spend time in and play some board games in. Loved the owners they were very sweet and welcoming when we arrived. 10 out of 10 would stay here again

The reviews for this place were all really good, so we thought we would give it a try. So glad we did!! A cute and humble lil family owned type of motel. Super comfy bed…..I like my bed on the firm side and this was perfect. The room was clean, and bright and the colors were inviting. In the room, besides the bed and a small table….there was also two nightstands, a small fridge, a microwave, a small 5 cup coffee pot and a portable AC unit, which we didn’t need. There was a wall mounted flat screen TV over the table. The bathroom wasn’t huge, it’s modest but it was bright and clean, with a powerful fan and the shower was perfect. Even tho it’s an older place,’I really liked the intimate feel of the place and how welcoming and accommodating the owners are. I plan on staying there again in the not too distant future.

Location is at convenient place for the National Park inlet, owners are very friendly and check-in is very fast. A good comfortable place for people to escape the summer heat. Wifi signal is weak and very slow though, forget about bringing the work. Or use your own cell for internet access.

Stay here! While it is ṅot a cookie cutter hotel with lots of amenities, it is a lovely motel run by amazing people who genuinely care about your experience. The beds were so comfortable, bedding was soft, it's spotlessly clean and quiet. Our unit even had a kitchenette. The rooms do not have air conditioning, but with the cool evenings, we found it very pleasant just having the windows open. It is a bit of a haul to the interior of Olympic Park, but the price and quality more than make up for that.

It was amazing. It’s a small place and the owners live on-site. You can really tell the difference in customer service compared to a large chain. I came in late riding a motorcycle in the rain and they were able to get me into a nice room and even provided a dehumidifier to help with drying the gear.

Shiny Motel truly “shines” as a bastion of comfort and hospitality! During our stay, we were approached by Jackie, the owner, who happily welcomed us to her humble abode(s) and offered to assist us in any way and at any time. The morning of checkout, all of the tenant’s vehicles were covered in ice. Not on Jackie’s watch! After returning our key and checking out, she proceeded to scrape and clean all of the ice from our vehicle’s windows and mirrors! The room was cozy, very clean and held so much personality with its multicolored walls and wall art. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and a must-stay for anyone visiting the Grays Harbor area. We will happily be returning and staying with Shiny Motel again in the future! Thank you, Jackie and family for your kindness!

How many motels know you by name? The couple who own and operate the motel are amazingly warm and hospitable. By the second day, they greeted us by name. My wife got a hug when we left. They were so eager to assist us we almost felt guilty to ask anything. They were excellent guides to things to see, places to eat, etc. The motel is older, maybe 50's? The rooms are smallish, The owners are clearly putting money into rehabbing it bit by bit. But the place was spotless, the mattress top quality, and all the amenities were there - fridge, microwave, soaps/shampoo, table and chairs, wifi. It's not a large place, so I'm guessing if you want to stay there, make your reservation early. For us, this was such a pleasant stay that it is hard to imagine staying anywhere else.

First note that the new owners are in the process of renovation such as painting and repairs so I cannot give them 5 stars right now for the exterior, but definitely 5+ stars for the room cleanliness and comfort. The room had everything we needed and in great working condition. Another 5+ for service and friendliness! I would stay again!

Im not usually the type to bother with leaving reviews... But From the moment i arrived, and the owner greeted me with a smile in the parking lot and walked me into the office, i was instantly knew i made the right choice! Checking in was quick and simple. She was very helpful and informative. She answered any questions without me needing to ask them. I could tell that its important to her that her guests enjoy their stay. She was very sweet and kind. When i entered the room, i immediately noticed how clean and tidy it was. Although it was probably the hottest day of the summer so far, the room was surprisingly comfortable temperature. There was instructions for the tv remotes, and wifi passwords clearly posted. The tv was a roku tv so i was able to connect to my streaming accounts. The shower was great with hot water that never ran out. The bed was amazing. Very comfortable, soft sheets and pillows. Dont let the cheap rates fool you, they could easily charge as much if not more than all the other motels in the area. I highly recommend and I look forward to coming back!! :)

I used this as my base to go visit Olympic National Park. The access was very convenient. The motel reminded me of old-style motels I stayed in when I was young. The owners are very nice & helpful in recommendations for food & places to visit. The room was clean & the bed was comfy. It had a table, nice size fridge & usb charging plugs. The property is older & the paint job/tile work isn’t great, but for the price, this place was great. If you want a spa-type resort, this probably isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay I highly recommend. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

This is a small family-run motel on the edge of a forested area. It is not uncommon to see deer on the property. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They are in the midst of refurbishing, so it will probably soon be in better condition. We enjoyed our stay here and would return if in the area again.

We had a fantastic stay! The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was spotless and super comfortable. The location is beautiful surrounded by lush forestry and just a two-hour drive from the Hoh Rainforest. We mentioned we were leaving at 7am to get to the rainforest by 9, and they advised us to leave earlier. So glad we did we got there at 8am with only five people in line. Two hours later, over 250 cars had shown up! Their advice saved the day. Can’t recommend this place enough .. clean, peaceful, and run by genuinely lovely people.

Went to this motel from the positive reviews I saw online and man was I happy I did! Absolutely fabulous staff, a huge shout out to Jackie! The room I had was a queen size room, easy to park in front of, small but works well with two people. Yes the building is old, and you'll notice it has some wear and tear, but if you can overlook that, it is a cute, cozy place to call temporarily home. They also have a cute outdoor setup that you can sit and relax if you wish, I utilized it to cook my meals outside which they allowed happily! Check in and out was absolutely fabulous, let alone any and all questions I had were eagerly answered. Seriously, the staff really outdid themselves! I highly recommend you considering this place for your stay, it's small, it's quaint, the road noise is not that bad, it's not near any major busy highways, And you can get conveniently into hoquiam as well as under 30 minute drive to the ocean.

Shiny is a family run operation. The property is older and the owners are making improvements. The room was super clean and the foam beds are new and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pavilion where a fire pit exists. The towels were the best we have used in some time. They shared some of their plants with the wife for her garden. We would recommend Shiny and would stay there again. No breakfast, but that is within 5 miles (Denny's, etc.) Very quiet. It is nice to patronize people who care about their property and your experience.

The owners of the place greeted us at the lobby with such friendly and welcoming attitudes. They made us feel at ease right away. They were super accommodating and genuinely cared about our comfort. The rooms were so tidy and clean both in appearance and smell. The rooms was so cozy and comfortable. Microwave, mini fridge, AC and direct tv. Eating options were a quick 15 minute drive. Surrounded by trees and nature provided such a quiet and peaceful feeling. This place had everything for a relaxing vacation to reset and recuperate. If I’m ever in that area again this hidden gem will definitely be my go to. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at the Shiny Motel. Too bad it was only for one night. The owner is an incredibly kind lady and she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The room itself was very clean, adequately sized, had a microwave, a fridge, a cooler, and a microwave. The price that we had was very reasonable. All in all, I highly recommend Shiny Motel for all travelers passing through the area. You will not be disappointed. I hope to return some day.
