There isn’t enough parking for guests. When booked it read secure parking but upon arrival the staff just said first in best dressed. There may have been 15 parking spots and for the motel and restaurant that isn’t enough by far. Otherwise the stay was excellent.

A really lovely property. Wonderful location straight across from the beach, and within walking distance of Redcliffe. Staff were always polite and happy to help. Only downside was the lift - it was super slow and even with only 3 floors and a basement you could wait a long time for it to arrive. We did make good use of the stairs though. We will definitely be back.

I recently stayed at The Sebel Margate Beach and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable — right across from the water, with beautiful ocean views and plenty of cafes, shops, and walking tracks nearby. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could need for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out quick and easy. The rooftop area and pool are definite highlights — perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the coast. I’d definitely stay here again!

Let me jump straight to the negatives, because that is what you are all here to read. This hotel was advertised as having free onsite parking. This is somewhat true. However, what you don't know until you arrive is that they have more rooms than parks, so the parking is on a 'good luck, hope you get in before we run out' basis. And if you get a park, then you have to decide if you will stay trapped in walking distance of the hotel, or risk losing your park to drive elsewhere. The other issue is there is a bar on the roof and also on the ground floor, and the hotel rooms are trapped between. So it's noisy; don't expect to get to sleep early.

The roof top was not available to access for drinks and was booked for a private function, no mention of this when I booked. This was a huge reason why I booked the hotel, I wouldn't have booked if I had known this. When I voiced my concern regarding this I got the cold shoulder from admin staff for the rest of my stay.

The property was nice and the staff at the hotel were great. But the attached restaurant lets the whole thing down badly. The wobbly table, the barmaid who offered to top up my $25 glass of pinot with a different brand because the bottle was finished, or the coffee that took so long, I had finished my breakfast, so ended up asking for it in a take away cup (which still took a few more minutes). The other problem was, my bathroom stunk really strongly of mould.

The room smelled like smoke and I had an asthma attack all night I could not breathe. There were thick layers (about a year’s worth) of dust in the bathroom on top of the appliances I went to use. The air quality in the room just felt bad. It was sooooo noisy! Lots of road noise and lots of noise in the hallway. I thought it was strange that they advertised “noise proof rooms” —who has to advertise that, unless the rooms are actually noisy and people have complained and they are trying to counter the truth. These rooms are so noisy and I could not sleep well.

We had a wonderful 6-night stay there with 2 kids. The reception and cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was very modern & clean and the beach view from the balcony was awesome. The rooftop pool is amazing and the food at Sunny's was great. We highly recommend this hotel.

We paid good money for a beach view. The beach view was obscured and only accessible if you leaned over the balcony and turned your head 270 degrees! Also the direct view from our balcony was of two dilapidated houses, derelict and smashed windows, pretty disappointing compared to what we were expecting. The rest of the hotel was lovely and the staff were lovely also

Room was great. The Air conditioning turning off every time you walked out on the balcony was annoying. Maybe a time delay would be more appropriate. So if you left the door open it would turn off, but going out and closing the door immediately behind you turning it off, is ridiculous

On arrival we were greeted with friendly professionalism, given our room a few hours earlier. We had the Deluxe King Room with a balcony and view direct to the ocean (perfect!!). The decor was great, comfy outdoor and indoor chairs, comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom was a good size with a very nice shower area. Water pressure could have been better, but okay for our 3 night stay. Good size wardrobes, shelves etc, good blackout curtains. The kitchenette was limited - microwave but no bowl to put things in (for small dinners). Even though we were only 2 of us - having exactly 2 of everything (glass, bowl, plate, cutlery etc) was a bit dumb. Change of drink or different use for item meant we had to clean between uses - really? Rooftop pool was okay (just a lap pool) and the bar was good when it was open (Friday and weekends). Nice view from the top when having a drink - lovely bar staff! DOWNSIDE - we used the balcony to sit outside on balmy nights - every time we went back inside to top up a drink, go to the loo etc, the air con turned off - always had to go back, reset to right temp and air control. Really stupid and a pain in the neck every night. Twice we used the restaurant - once for hot drinks (took 30 minutes to arrive) and once for breakfast (took about the same time). Scrambled eggs were cold on the outside, warm on the inside, ciabatta bread was toasted but soft. We didn't complain - didn't have time to wait another 30 or more minutes!

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were excellent, but for the price we paid per night we could not enjoy a cocktail or drink in the pool area.. I understand not to bring glasses where the pool is but where there are tables and chairs would have been nice . Also I don’t understand why the Television is high up on the wall , so uncomfortable . Other than that I would recommend Sebel to all.

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely view. Friendly staff. Handy to everything in Redcliffe. Only issue - and this not the hotel's fault - is the road can be a bit noisy at times. Its not terrible, but if you're a light sleeper, you might have issues. I wore earplugs and slept very well!

Convenient for what we needed, parking within the hotel was limited but a lot of off street parking. Air conditioning was a little noisey in the room, but the room itself was very comfortable. Staff at check-in and check-out were great with wonderful customer service.

I booked through Wotif only to be told my room was double I tried to show them my confirmation and she shooed me. They tried to bill my card before I transferred the money and when it declined she flicked it at me. They looked at me like I’d crawled out of the sewer. I would have been happy to get a different room but she talked over me and I was so humiliated I had to walk away. The receptionist later called me to have an argument about my booking. I told her to cancel it and had to hang up on her because she was so aggressive. When I tried to call and complain I was put through to the two women responsible for all this Tahlia and I think it was Sophia or something. I can’t even lodge a complaint I keep getting an AI virtual assistant

It was a comfortable clean room. I feel it was very overpriced especially seeing as it does not offer parking for all guests. I had to drive around the block, then two blocks to still find no parking so I called the hotel, and they said they could do nothing for me, so I had to drive around and find a park. I was absolutely disgusted that my husband could not check in for us….. he has the same surname, and even had my bank card that I used to book. I have never heard of such stupidity before. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Functions staff very rude, most staff unhappy and did not leave a good vibe. Beds uncomfortable but the rooms were nice. Restaurant staff were great.

The roof top was not available to access for drinks and was booked for a private function, no mention of this when I booked. This was a huge reason why I booked the hotel, I wouldn't have booked if I had known this. When I voiced my concern regarding this I got the cold shoulder from admin staff for the rest of my stay.

The property was directly across the street from the beach . We enjoyed the wonderful sunrises in the morning and went for long walks along the beach. The location is great but not near any restaurants or night life . The inhouse restaurant, Sunny's, was good so it was not an issue.

I recently stayed at The Sebel Margate Beach and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable — right across from the water, with beautiful ocean views and plenty of cafes, shops, and walking tracks nearby. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could need for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out quick and easy. The rooftop area and pool are definite highlights — perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the coast. I’d definitely stay here again!

The property was nice and the staff at the hotel were great. But the attached restaurant lets the whole thing down badly. The wobbly table, the barmaid who offered to top up my $25 glass of pinot with a different brand because the bottle was finished, or the coffee that took so long, I had finished my breakfast, so ended up asking for it in a take away cup (which still took a few more minutes). The other problem was, my bathroom stunk really strongly of mould.

Our room was perfect and we liked the swimming pool especially being on top of the roof of the hotel. The only thing I didn't like was the small car park. Other than that we loved that having breakfast every morning of our stay.

The Sebel was in a perfect location, close to the beach and a good flat walk to Redcliffe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to escape the rat race. The only fault with our stay was the restaurant attached to the hotel Sunny’s where the staff were far from friendly and helpful- I would stay again but would not have breakfast at Sunny’s.

On arrival we were greeted with friendly professionalism, given our room a few hours earlier. We had the Deluxe King Room with a balcony and view direct to the ocean (perfect!!). The decor was great, comfy outdoor and indoor chairs, comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom was a good size with a very nice shower area. Water pressure could have been better, but okay for our 3 night stay. Good size wardrobes, shelves etc, good blackout curtains. The kitchenette was limited - microwave but no bowl to put things in (for small dinners). Even though we were only 2 of us - having exactly 2 of everything (glass, bowl, plate, cutlery etc) was a bit dumb. Change of drink or different use for item meant we had to clean between uses - really? Rooftop pool was okay (just a lap pool) and the bar was good when it was open (Friday and weekends). Nice view from the top when having a drink - lovely bar staff! DOWNSIDE - we used the balcony to sit outside on balmy nights - every time we went back inside to top up a drink, go to the loo etc, the air con turned off - always had to go back, reset to right temp and air control. Really stupid and a pain in the neck every night. Twice we used the restaurant - once for hot drinks (took 30 minutes to arrive) and once for breakfast (took about the same time). Scrambled eggs were cold on the outside, warm on the inside, ciabatta bread was toasted but soft. We didn't complain - didn't have time to wait another 30 or more minutes!

We had a wonderful 6-night stay there with 2 kids. The reception and cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was very modern & clean and the beach view from the balcony was awesome. The rooftop pool is amazing and the food at Sunny's was great. We highly recommend this hotel.

I was so impressed at the total accomodation experience on my 3 day visit, that except for a few short walks by the beach, I just spent all my time only at the Sebel Margate. Any requests were quickly dealt with by all staff. Sunny’s Restaurant and cafe/bar was so amazing I never left the building to eat elsewhere. Complements to the chef/s and staff. I will be returning soon.
