New Bedford Harbor Hotel

The fitness center is small. No a/c. Three pieces of equipment. Elliptical, reclining bike and treadmill. One weight rack and bench. Elliptical was new. So small, no air, gotta hope no one else comes in.

Great location, lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel bar is great, along with the bar staff. Parking is a 2 block walk, not always preferable, especially in cold weather.

Very vintage. Rooms were clean and bed very comfortable. One tiny elevator for a lot of rooms and didn’t really feel secure outside hotel at night. You have to park along street or in remote parking…

Room was very noisy...issues with the ventilation system in the room (assume it was a problem and not the normal sound of it). The lobby is more of a bar than a hotel lobby and was full and very noisy. Plus the fact that they had no parking nearby and no valet is a huge problem. I traveled there alone for a bridal shower in the area. I ended up leaving my car at the shower location and Ubered back and forth to hotel. A disappointing experience.

Loved the hotel and property. Only downfall is their parking is a few blocks away.

Parking is a few blocks away but that is not a big deal. Hotel has been updated and room was clean. Perfect for a quick stay.

Tv didn't work, when called down to desk she knew it didn't work and wasn't suppose to use that room. Offered to move us but we were already unpacked. Also parking was 2 blocks away

The parking lot is located blocks away -not very convenient, especially in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. The floors in the room were dirty, as was one of the towels. Some of the furniture was worn. I would not recommend this hotel.

Trash left in the room. HVAC made a high pitched whining noise all morning. Staff was friendly and timely.

Stayed here for one night, pictures online looked nice however our room was dirty. The bathroom and shower felt dingy. There was hair on the shower walls, the bathroom sink was dirty. In the room the floors were dirty. Also- what king size bed doesn’t have king size pillows???

The room was dusty, the toilet seat in the bathroom was stained with urine, the sheets on one of the beds looked worn and wrinkled. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. The bathroom exhaust fan was not working.

I hate to say this before I know for sure but took some samples from our bed after noticing that the mattress cover was stained and dirty. There was residue that could be bed bugs. I spoke with the staff and they said the manager would come in at nine but the person didn’t show perhaps because it was Sunday. We then had to leave to return a rental car. Check your bedding when you check in there.

Housekeeping, though requested daily, was very inconsistent with housekeeping staff not showing up for work. An internal hotel problem, affecting good customers.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It seems to be going downhill. Room wasn’t bad but shower was not the cleanest. 1 fairly thin blanket ( glad we brought our own). The 1st room we had had no remote for the television, went down to front desk and he said yea that room does not have a working tv, want me to move you !Breakfast” was awful, nothing to choose from, the few pastries they did have were gross. When we checked in, there was an employee at the front desk. When out to our car to get a few more things, came back in and had a question about parking and that same employee was outside chatting with friends while we waited. I hope they can change their ways so that we can co time to stay at the hotel, we love the location.

The staff was nice but the room was very dirty…hairs in the sheets, looked like the bed was not cleaned between guests…bathroom hair and floss on floor …there was 1 towel in bathroom, the staff did bring towels right away. Had to walk down 3 flights of stairs with luggage since elevators were not working The area around the hotel is seedy…lots of homeless…the waterfront which is 10-15 min walk is nice near the ferry. I would not call this a boutique hotel…no food service at the hotel restaurant, maybe cause it was a Sunday? lol would find somewhere else to stay

Very loud- couldn't sleep due to people walking around upstairs all night. Our room was dirty but the bathroom appeared clean. there wasn't any soap in the BR-I had to go down to the desk. The whole property was out of coffee. It is a cold dark property.

The vibe in the lobby is nice with the bar right there, and some seating. Unfortunately, the room wasn't very clean. The carpeting on the floor had visible signs of unvacummed particles, the night stand was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. There is no place in the shower to hang a face cloth and the corner shelf, which is tiny, was not secured to the bracket and could easily fall to the floor. The bathroom sink wasn't cleaned along the upper edges and it grossed us out. The road noise outside is super loud in the morning. Sorry, not usually a complainer but disappointed.

My wife and I had bad experience with super Dusty room and look like was not clean for a long time.

The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. They let me check in early with no extra charge. Location in downtown New Bedford is incredible. The room was clean and quiet, with a comfy bed. The windows open (only a few inches, for safety, of course), which I love. My only criticism is that the description of the room as having a “harbor view” is…generous. I could see a little bit of water, but….

I stayed in a corner room. It was extremely small and plain. The noise outside was deafening. It was hard to get to sleep. The breakfast was just bagels, mini muffins and danishes. Parking was a couple of blocks away. Did not feel comfortable leaving my car there

The television in the room did not function. The front desk offered to reimburse me $50 for the inconvenience, as they could not repair it and there was no other room available.

The room was clean, comfortable bed, and had plenty of outlets and USB ports to charge all our devices. The bathroom was clean, lots of space, with a modern glass shower, however, the water pressure in the shower was very low.

The hotel is unique—not a cookie cutter, generic kind of set up. That said, while our room was clean and comfortable, it was jammed so tightly with furniture in a too small space that it was difficult to get around the bed. There was not enough room for our suitcases to not be in the way.

The property was stated a harbor view which we paid extra for snd it was a pickaboo view between downtown buildings. The rooms are okay, they felt old but we only stayed one night which was fine.

Nice hotel with friendly front desk staff. Beds were comfortable and it was a weekend so there was plenty of street parking. Continental breakfast was limited but sufficient. My only negative would be the lack of soundproofing with the windows. It was almost as if the windows were open based on the amount of noise coming in. Thankfully at night the area around the hotel was pretty quiet.

Traveling to visit Martha’s Vineyard. Never been to the area. Check in was not helpful with local information at all. Past several staff throughout our 2 night stay and no one spoke in passing. Had to ask for clean towels second day and then only brought 1 wash cloth. When my husband went downstairs to get another was told they were running short on supplies which I thought was very odd. Bed was comfortable and location is ok as far as walking distance to take the Ferry to the Vineyards. No laundry facility, self parking 2.5 blocks away from hotel, no microwave in room and very overpriced. Probably will not choose to stay here again.

"Booked a room at the new Bedford Harbour Hotel through Expedia and called ahead to confirm a late 12am check-in. Despite assurances, the room was given away upon arrival. Exhausted from a 4-hour trip, I was left stranded at midnight. While the staff eventually found me a room elsewhere, the experience was incredibly frustrating, leaving me stressed and questioning the hotel's reliability."

Wonderful location with eady walking through out the historical district and waterfront. Plenty of dining opportunities. Value for the stay was exceptional. Free parking for the hotel just a two block distance. Continental breakfast and lobby bar appreciated. ALL staff were happy and attentive. We will stay here again.

No parking onsite.Street parking in somewhat unsafe areas. Three stays in different rooms with TVs not working. One room had coffee/tea and cups with no machine to make a cup. Calls to front desk unanswered 8pm and when going to front desk staff yelled at me they were eating dinner.

They overbook It and promise give refund. But they don't give me back the money. And terrible service. So slow transfer us to another hotel at 1 am. The staff don't show any sorry！

It is a very cute hotel, quaint rooms, has a very historic feel about it. On street parking has been very convenient in the times that I have stayed there. The only challenge is at the check-in. It hasn’t been a very friendly staff. They seem tired and removed, because each day I’ve done it late at night. On my last day they had overbooked the hotel, even though I had prepaid for my room. The young man working the front desk was relatively new and seemed pretty overwhelmed. His answer was nothing I can do, but I can issue a refund. Midnight in New Bedford there wasn’t a whole lot of other options. I asked them to call a manager, and the manager essentially relayed the same message. I asked him to call the next higher person who essentially said give us the room because we were there in the next one with the reservation won’t have a room. I appreciate you getting the room, but didn’t feel very good about it. The whole process took almost an hour and at that hour at night. It wasn’t very enjoyable

The desk clerk reacted very efficiently and quickly when we walked into a room that ha not been cleaned. We're we given an upgrade to another corner room. She made sure everything was fine when she subsequently saw us.

Let me begin by saying that this place has a great vibe, great location, and I would love to see a boutique-y hotel succeed in downtown New Beford. In short, I am rooting for the Harbor Hotel but they are making it hard to do so. First, the pros: great bed! Really nice public spaces. Fridge in the room, which I need for meds but appreciate in general as it saves me time and money. Walkable to all of downtown, the National Park, Whaling Museum, harbor, ferries, etc. The cons: they are massively understaffed. I am sure this is an economic decision but it is creating a bad feedback loop. I was there for three nights and I never once saw housekeeping. Worse, I came downstairs to *ask for it* every day, and was told that someone would be up. No one was every up. I said specifically I don't need the sheets changed or new towels, I just want the trash emptied and new glasses in the bathroom. I finally asked a housekeeper directly and she said they might not be able to get to me but she would leave an empty trashbag on my door and I could change my trash. For $200 a night? Really? But that didn't happen either so I looked at the bin overflowing with my cold brew bottles and the wine glass from the bar for three days. The front desk is staffed maybe half of the time and I did not leave my suitcase because I did not trust I could get it back in time to make my train. And I would have told them this but nobody asked how my stay was.

Parking at this hotel is three blocks away in a shady part of town. Walking back at night didn’t feel safe. Overall this hotel is not in a nice area of town. Would not stay there again.

It was a beautiful old hotel in town (New Bedford). That gave it a lot of character integrated with the room being updated nicely with modern conveniences. I was on the 5th floor and had a great view of the city and partially of the harbor. My daughter and her husband-to-be live a couple blocks away. Because they have off street parking, I left my car there and they picked me up during my stay for Mother’s Day weekend. That was an inconvenience to work around. However, area is very walkable to a number of restaurants. I did enjoy my room and would consider staying in this hotel during their wedding next year!

Room was comfortable, spacious. Easy walk to several restaurants, Whaling Museum. Parking is a few blocks away.

Property conveniently located to Whaling Museum and NB Harbor. Limited services and amenities but acceptable. Plan to stay again.

My family had a great time while we were kn town for the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival. The location was convenient for us to get to the Ferry, parking, grab dinner. We will definitely stay here again.

The room was somewhat small, the mattress too soft for us, and the breakfast was low quality.

Room was on the smaller side. We went to restaurant and no one came to our table, only to find out they didn’t have waiters. Our reservation stayed the hotel had room service so we decided to go and order instead, to find out it was a misprint on our reservation and they do not have room service. Breakfast was lukewarm coffee and a bagel, a bit disappointed in the whole experience.

It is average Hotel; room is small. Breakfast in terrible. Only the location is closed to everything.

Sunday morning, Continental breakfast was poorly maintained. No regular coffee, had to ask for a knife, sign offering kitchen options without a attendee. Love the location for a The Vault concert even though it is street parking.

Every time we come down for some good food and to hang out with friends and family this is our go to place! Great staff, clean, always have availability, great bar and reasonably priced!

Good renovation from former uses into a fine hotel. Forgive the single creaky elevator. Friendly staff generally. Breakfast "continental" - lots of carbs.

Absolutely basic breakfast. Almostnon existing.

I found it "different" that in 2024 not to have a tv in the room. Parking is on the street or 3 blocks away! Went to breakfast at 7:45 - there was none until someone rushed in say someone went home sick (Which I didn't believe) & later it was a 'miss communication'. the danish was cold, the micro didn't work, coffee? Obviousls I made a bad 'where to stay' decision.
