The Red Lion

This was my third visit over a two years and for my purpose and convenience this is a perfectly comfortable location to stay. Remember you are staying in a good old English country pub not a five star luxury hotel. The accommodation is well maintained the bedrooms are of a good size and comfortable. The now days expected tea/coffee making facilities along with hairdryer and TV are all here. Though if any criticism the televisions are quite small. Staff are always friendly and service in the restaurant at both breakfast and dinner very good. Choice on menus for both sittings are very good the quality of food is very good and the portions are very generous. Bar? well naturally goes with out saying you are in a Pub so a well choice stacked range of Beers Wines and Spirits, A range of coffees and Tea also available on bar service. No dogs in the bar please is a house rule. For my visit to the area I find this pub most convenient and good value for money, ideal for a one to three night stop-over such as my stays. Good location to visit the Wolds - Lincoln and the collection of National Trust visitor sites amongst others in the area. RAF East Kirkby Airfield Museum and the Battle of Britain Memorial flight (or take the children in the holidays to watch the RAF performing their skills) at RAF Coningsby both locations are just minutes away by car. So another great stay for me.

A great little hotel, the whole property including the staff were very warm and inviting. It was relaxing and you’re made to feel like a local. The food was delicious and if you want a snack I would highly recommend the pickled onion rings with warm honey…. Amazing!!
