We spent two nights at this amazing property. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar/grounds/pool were gorgeous and the food and drink were excellent and affordable. We were sad to leave!!! We never left the property really so no idea what there is to do nearby but if you need a place to swim/chill/eat, I highly recommend!

Incredible place ! Loved my stay I would definitely come back . Lovely staff and sweet. Rooms are very clean and comfortable bed in my opinion. Parking was somewhat easy. But the place itself is really nice the pool is clean and good size with seating area.

Lovely hotel, basic / rustic rooms but clean and tidy. Very, very - yes very steep entrance. Difficult to do on foot and even the car struggled, not for the faint hearted. Food at the hotel is very good, which is a bonus as the local town has very little for dinner in the evening and what is there is very basic. They charge for basic things such as bottled water, only a free one on the first day, then €4 a medium size bottle and breakfast is €20 each, so your bill can soon stack up. When we arrived the parking was also full that made check-in very stressful going up and down the hill. The pool has very few sunbeds and most times these were full and taken for the day. The pool also has very little shade, so you end up sitting in the terrace area most of the time or in the hotel. Great for a few days stay, we went for a week, that was far too long ! So, it was nice but would not recommend for a long stay.

An absolute gem. Our room had a private terrace and the uniqueness of the hotel meant every room was different. The garden pool area was exquisite, breathtaking views from every corner, every table had privacy and surrounded by beauty, with a great snack menu. The restaurant was top class too. Fabulous hotel, stunning views from our room! Beautiful gardens and swimming pool, and the food was also excellent. Loads of nooks and crannies for you to have your lunch amongst the gardens. I loved this place!! Not for anyone unsteady on their feet, lots of steps, and the walk into the village would be too steep for some, but we really enjoyed it

Also, I'd expect a hotel of this caliber to have robes and slippers (which would help with the freezing floors issue too). We were there for Christmas, so there was a great deal of hanging out, but not a whole lot of common space to do so in. I ended up spending a lot of time at the bar, which wasn't so comfortable (or warm). The room had it's own heat, so other than the floors it was warm, and some nice chairs. Breakfast was disappointing and while the rest of the staff was really, really lovely, the staff at breakfast was unpleasant, like we were imposing on them. Perhaps they were understaffed given the holiday special lunch/dinner. I'm guessing that this would be a lovely space to use as a base for hiking in better weather

What a fabulous and beautiful place to stay. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in. The views are breathtaking and the whole hotel/castle has fantastic decor and it is immaculate through out. There is always plenty of staff on hand if you need any help or assistance. We stayed in room 403 and the mountain views went on for miles and miles. The food on offer was delicious and the areas to sit out to take in the views that you will never tire of looking at. The room was nice and spacious and a comfortable bed with a lovely big balcony. We will definitely be back! Thank you Andrea and Casper

Great views but a lot of the same. Hotel has old times charm, great roads up and down the mountain, inconvinient if your partying in town. Must say there was a fly infestation in the room, may just have been the time of year, but no complaints overall.

Ein tolles, sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel in wunderbarer Umgebung. Ich würde nächstes Mal jedoch ein größeres als das Standard Zimmer buchen, da dies doch recht klein ist. Ansonsten eine traumhafte Einrichtung mit freundlichem Personal in traumhafter Kulisse.

Property is great and have been a guest before....did not like the customer service received during my recent visit...was disppointed to be charged extra when requesting ketchup for fries served as part of a meal ordered...seemed to be a lot of nickel and diming...chase the cents and miss the dollars...

Shocking experience. Booking confirmed twice. Long dive to hotel. The drive through Monda to it is simply a nightmare I would never repeat. Narrow, overparked streets. A route best suite for a bicycle. And then, at the end of it all, they deny the booking. A wedding had taken over the hotel. Avoid.

Absolutely incredible! I would say this is a once-in-a-lifetime destination but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. The views, food and service were all impeccable. One of the things I loved most is the many different places to relax and enjoy the scenery and, with less than 40 rooms, it was very quiet. I had the pleasure of having a massage there too, which was uber relaxing. The quaint village is a (steep) 10 min walk away and has some lovely places to eat and drink.

Fabulous setting (but a bit of a challenge getting up the very steep hill through the narrow streets - okay if you are a confident driver!). We loved the character and ambience, and the decor. Totally charming. And the staff were all really helpful too.

Vi hade en mycket bra vistelse på Castillo de Monda. Vi hade enklaste rummet som var väldigt fräscht med stor bekväm säng och mindre bord med två fåtöljer. Badrummet verkade helt nytt! Perfekt mottagande vid incheckningen. Riktigt mysigt hotell med mindre poolområde. Sittplatser på många olika ställen att välja på. Vi åt godaste pizzorna ever! Frukostbuffé med mycket att välja på. Vi återkommer gärna!

Lage und Hotel ist wirklich toll, aber ein Burg-Flair kommt trotz der steilen Auffahrt nicht so recht auf. Was wirklich schlimm ist ist das Essen bzw. das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Das Personal ist OK, aber Gast ist sicher kein König auf dieser Burg. Beim Frühstück steht im Zimmer noch 15 EUR, tatsächlich kostet es 17,50. Das ist viel zu viel, denn das Frühstück ist Standard und Kaffee gibts nur als Pulverkaffee und auch Pulvermilch für einen Capuccino. Schrecklich. Das Abendessen ist durchschnittlich und wir haben in vielen Restaurants für weniger besser gegessen. Hotel 3-4 Sterne von 5. Essen 1 Sterne. Daher 3 Sterne insgesamt.
