I was surprised that there was no car park, but the street parking was okay. My spacious room on the front was a bit too warm overnight (we are having unusally warm weather) so I had the window open.On Saturday night, people outside were noisy until 1.05am, but there was little noise from within the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. At breakfast the omelette was huge.

We chose this hotel as it was relatively close to Southerness Golf Club where our son was playing a competition. The family room we stayed in was recently updated and very clean. All interactions with the staff were excellent and they went out of their way to help us when we came back from the golf on Saturday soaked! The Birchtree is dog friendly and our little pooch was treated like a king! Thanks to all the guys at the hotel and we will be back next time there is a golf tournament at Southerness GC.

It was an ideal place for my husband and I, and our 2 dogs after being in the area for an Off roading event. The food was lovely and the staff super helpful, including offering to make numerous other event guests a takeaway breakfast as we were leaving early. Thank you to all the staff.

Above a bar. No elevators and our floors were on 3rd floor. Hall carpets are filthy but room was clean. And staff was fine. But for price,its good.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Birchtree Hotel. Dalbeattie is a small and pretty town, the parking is free and 30 yards from the hotel. Enjoyed being based here in the Scottish Borders.

There is a river running behind the hotel which is nice. Room was good but with no AC can be noisy outside if you keep your window open. Breakfast that was included was great. Free parking across the street.

Refurbishment going on which made everything look drab and tatty. My room was very cramped - just about ok for one person but would have been awful for two. Noisy because of the pub downstairs (and it being a weekend when Scotland were playing in the Euros) - not an issue for me but light sleepers might struggle.

A very good hotel, with motorcycle parking right outside. The staff were very good, the rooms are very clean and in excellent condition. Breakfast was good, and cooked fresh to order. The hotel was better than expected and we would stop there again.

Music on in the pub downstairs until late at night and then music pumping out from somewhere at 05:30. No "bathroom“, the shower and sink were IN the bedroom. Wouldn’t stay again. Staff in restaurant were good and the food decent enough though.

Overall good value, except the noice in my bedroom on the 2nd floor from the kitchen extractor below. Too loud and was left on till beyond 10.30pm and was on again in the morning from 7am. Not acceptable for rooms facing the rear. Reported to the staff and they seems to expect the criticism.

Lovely! perfect hotel great location staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Evening meal was excellent good choices vegetarian vegan and gluten free available. Same for breakfast loads of choice. Sadly the weather was awful but that can’t be helped. Dalbeattie is a small town but has everything you need.

The location was great and check in was very easy. We arrived much later than we planned but we were able to check in and get to our room quickly. Breakfast the next morning was great and it was nice to see other guests.

Stayed here a few times and its always been fantastic. The food is amazing, highly recommend! Hotels.com didnt tell them about our stay however, but the hotel kindly upgraded our room.

Staff were amazing, the hotel could do with a freshen up in the corridors but when things were wrong in the room the staff were dead helpful. Nice area too.

Great location in the centre, easy to find and a perfect stop off for us on route. We were bowled over by the helpful friendly welcome which was there till the minute we left. The food was excellent and I can highly recommend the home made beef pie. Looking forward to a return visit when we are heading that way. Thank you to everyone at The Birchtree 😀

Lovely! perfect hotel great location staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Evening meal was excellent good choices vegetarian vegan and gluten free available. Same for breakfast loads of choice. Sadly the weather was awful but that can’t be helped. Dalbeattie is a small town but has everything you need.

The location was great and check in was very easy. We arrived much later than we planned but we were able to check in and get to our room quickly. Breakfast the next morning was great and it was nice to see other guests.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Birchtree Hotel. Dalbeattie is a small and pretty town, the parking is free and 30 yards from the hotel. Enjoyed being based here in the Scottish Borders.

Room was fab although could have done with an extra chair when sitting to watch tv in the evening. Clean and tidy. Food was great, service was good. We enjoyed our stay. Good site to tour from, good price point.

There is a river running behind the hotel which is nice. Room was good but with no AC can be noisy outside if you keep your window open. Breakfast that was included was great. Free parking across the street.

Staff were amazing, the hotel could do with a freshen up in the corridors but when things were wrong in the room the staff were dead helpful. Nice area too.

I was surprised that there was no car park, but the street parking was okay. My spacious room on the front was a bit too warm overnight (we are having unusally warm weather) so I had the window open.On Saturday night, people outside were noisy until 1.05am, but there was little noise from within the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. At breakfast the omelette was huge.

Stayed here a few times and its always been fantastic. The food is amazing, highly recommend! Hotels.com didnt tell them about our stay however, but the hotel kindly upgraded our room.

Used the hotel as a base to visit the Seven Stanes biking, so a perfect location, couldn't fault the hotel, and a good breakfast to start the day. Staff and room excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Despite not looking too appealing initially from the roadside, this was really pleasant stay. Evening meal was great and staff happy to help with anything. Definitely recommend.

Had a 1 night stay with husband and daughter. Hotel is very central and had a nice friendly atmosphere. All the staff were exceptional and couldn’t do more for you. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit as food is outstanding. Bar area got quite roudy at one point with a stag do, so we’d shed our meal from the bar to the restaurant upstairs. Later the bar was fine and had a nice selection of drinks. The room was fine and was quite soundproof considering it’s on the main road. Breakfast was included in the price and was ok. Could possibly be more continental choices but hot food was nice and poached eggs cooked to perfection.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Very good shower which was in the actual room but didn't steam up everywhere, separate toilet room. Staff great from check-in to check-out. Great evening meal & breakfast here. Parking easy. A park & woods both nearby. Would recommend staying here.
