Pelican Post at Anna Maria Island Inn

Property was great, room was big, king size bed was extremely comfortable with large pillows. We appreciated the large tv! Only downside was no ice machine or restroom to use prior to check in.

We had a decent stay. I would recommend to change the shower in room. It was very bad. The pictures of the property showed a few umbrellas around the pool. Unfortunately there was only 1. It was extremely hot we couldn’t even go in the pool. The water was very hot. Recommend chillers. Check in was great. They have beach chairs but you have to ask them and they will bring them to you. The room needs a little TLC they only have one chair in the room. So if you want to watch TV only one person can sit on the chair or sit on the bed. The property is in a good location.

The room I had shared an air-conditioning unit with another room. The air-conditioning unit Was mounted to the outside of the unit above the bedroom window problem with this the vibration and noise of the air conditioning unit was throughout the whole night Internet is terrible No signal no strength no TV which for the area you would not want to watch TV but it rained last night and TV would’ve been nice swimming pool was heated like the hot tub and the hot tub was chilled like the swimming pool very odd For the price that is charged these minor inconveniences are not minor. It should be a flawless experience for the price that they are expecting.

Overall we really loved it, but had a few things that deterred me from giving it 5 stars. First off, the check in was super easy and the room and property were well maintained. We loved the fact the beach was a short walk away and that we could come back and relax in the pool. However, the pool was HOT!!! They had a pool and a hot tub and it felt like the heat was on in the pool and the hot tub was pool temp. We couldn’t swim and refresh in the pool at all due to this. There’s no way the pool could be that hot without a heater on and the fact the hot tub wasn’t hot made us wonder. The only other issue we had was with the a/c in our room. It was set to 62 when we arrived and the room was like an icebox. No remote found to adjust, called front desk and left a message and never got a call back. Husband found a button that he pushed that out it at 76 but then it was warmer than we usually like so didn’t sleep as well. Called front desk the next day and they were sending maintenance to take care of it and provide us with a remote. They came while we were out, adjusted it to 70 but didn’t leave a remote. Overall, we would come back and think it’s a great place if you have a group of friends or family as they have a great area to hang out at, but was a bit bummed with the a/c issues and disappointed in how hot the pool was.

Everything was great about the property except the TV cable connection was not good. Tv froze up could not get most channels other than that everything was excellent and a great price for the location. Very nice pool and hot tub.

Loved it here!! My wife and I came for our wedding anniversary- we had a really nice time. Pelican Post was clean and quiet and close to everything.Heated salt water pool surrounded by gorgeous palm trees and other pretty green vegetation~lounge chairs,corn hole, gas grills, beach chairs and towels provided. Quick walk to the beach, the Pier, Ice cream around the corner- Bridge Street with cute shops and Back Alley, a little cafe/gift shop with yummy Iced dirty chai!! The few things I wished for- ice machine on site,have beach chairs there at arrival and maybe more communication initially when you check in (I had to text a few times, but the beach chairs were finally dropped off on day 2- and the woman Angie C. checked in to make sure we were all set, which was very thoughtful) all staff were super friendly- but it was impossible to get anyone over the phone - so texting worked out this place is a must if you’re visiting AMI. We will be back for sure!!

We stayed in room 612. There was a king sized bed in the main living area and a queen sized bed in a separate room and a pull out couch in its own room. The beds were comfortable but the bathroom was sooo small!!! The property was well kept and the pool and hot tub was so nice! My kids loved the game area too. Check in is at a different location.

Great area for relaxation and fun! Pool, hot tub, outdoor grill, yard games, and an up kept place made this a great little getaway.

Beautiful boutique resort. Clean rooms, great pool and hot tub. Walking distance around Anna Maria Island. Parking included. I highly recommend :)

Property was well located but the back room smelled bad and wall air conditioner had mold coming out of it

Property and rooms were good but unfortunately cockroaches were found in the room & left us with bit of disgust.

We found some bed bugs on the bed and that was not pretty nice. All the rest was ok, but if I'm being charged for a such a cleaning fee, the less I want to find are bed bugs on the bed. I think I should be refund by the cleaning fee as this didn't was the best cleaning place. I'll wait for your answer before I do my public online review.

We loved this location! It was a quiet, well kept resort. Rooms are a nice size and very comfortable. It is walking distance to the beach, multiple restaurants. A shopping strip and so many attractions. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable place to stay on the island.

I was down here for a couple of days, the second one was when tropical storm Debby hit. The staff reaches out to me via text to make sure I had what I needed.. My first room (ground level) flooded with water coming in the front door and up through the floor boards - they acted quick and had maintenance help me get everything moved to a different room that was higher up. They were also super helpful coming to get me through the flooded streets, to take me and my bags to dry land the next morning. The rooms were decorated nicely, but were a little dirty, mostly in the bathroom areas, and furniture peeling etc probably just due to the moisture down there. I also initially did switch rooms because the first one I was in had an unbearable mildew smell. The room they moved me to was pleasant and didn’t have any off putting smell. If it would have been nice weather, I’m sure I would have enjoyed the pool, as it looked lovely. And the location of Pelican Post is amazing - very close to shops and restaurants and a block away from the free AMI trolley line. Huge shout out to Angie C who kept me informed and had her guys take care of me quickly when the water came. They were juggling a bunch of balls moving people around and checking on everyone due to the storm and their customer service was spectacular.

We were pleased to see that this property exceeded our expectations. Newly updated and very spacious. We had daily towel exchange and chairs for the beach while we were there. The property management was quick to respond to text messaging. Very convenient to AMI nightlife and beach. Would definitely staying here again.

I recently stayed at Pelican Post with my family of 4 during the last week in March. As far as accommodations, positives were location (minutes from historic bridge street and a short walk across the street to the beach), cleanliness, proximity to pool, lighting/brightness of the room, and responsiveness of staff to any needs- I don’t know who I was texting with but they got back to me within minutes of any communication. As much as we loved it for all of the above reasons, it was simply too small for a family of 4. The king bed was great but having to pull out the couch each night was a big pain. There simply was not enough storage in the room to accommodate 4 people. It was a super cute, quaint space but the focus was more on decor than practicality. Other than hangers to hang up a few clothes and two very small drawers in each bedside stand, there is absolutely no where to put your clothes- I hate living out of a suitcase on vacay! They could have easily put a tall dresser where one of the bedside tables were. I knew ahead of time that check in was about a mile from where pelican post was- we took the trolley to pelican post after check in- but this was still kind of a pain! Why not have a check in on site at pelican post? Other than that we adored our time on AMI and hope to go back but definitely with a bigger room and kitchenette next time- a mini fridge and microwave just didn’t cut it for 4!

The pool and hot tub were great. Room clean and spacious. The noise from the air/heating unit outside the bedroom window was so loud that we had difficulty falling asleep. That was unfortunate. Otherwise the place was nice.

No check in desk on site. Had to walk a mile too and from the check in desk and when we got there they said you should’vegotten a text with check in info. I said I did not and they said, oh that happens with “Expedia” aka bookings through hotels.com. Only then to take our card, room not ready, we walked a mile back to wait for our room. Then got a text saying, your room is ready but you need to call the office to give us your credit card bf we will give you the code to check in. They had our card. I called and again they used the excuse that is an Expedia/hotels.com text but I was just there 2 hours ago and they apologized. My daughters shoulders were raw from carrying our baggage to and from the desk bf the trip even started. They knew they messed up twice and apologized twice but offered zero compensation. I texted them my disappointment and they apologized a third time but zero compensation for such poor repetitive communication. Fine property but I would not recommend based on this experience, especially for the price. I’ve been to this area before and there much better service available nearby.

Let me begin by saying that we plan to stay here again. It was clean, great location, and quiet. Kind, attentive staff (via call/text). No on-site staff, though. Major inconvenience was the WiFi. We were there for 5 nights and it never worked. We had to leave and find somewhere with WiFi each day in order to work and it was def not ideal. Also, our had water under the vinyl flooring. We could hear the water sloshing and see it coming up between the planks when stepped on. After the first big rain I could see why- water was pooling outside our door (603). I contacted the front desk and they were VERY responsive. Sent someone that night to look at the WiFi and the flooring (and also fix a sink that was clogged with hair), but the only thing they actually fixed was the clog. Multiple staff throughout our stay told me they were contacting Spectrum about the WiFi but it was never resolved. The guys who came to fix everything acknowledged the floor water but said they weren’t sure what to do about it. Other than those issues, we really enjoyed it. Pool was nice. Location was super convenient. Def recommend visiting the Drift-In dive bar for karaoke (ask for Paul and read his book). Daiquiri Deck for happy hour. AMOB is nearby and staff/drinks/view were great, but food was NOT. Join The Moose before you go and use their bathrooms and food/drinks while on the beach. Beach Dog Island Essentials for beach chairs. Brunch at Slickers. Dinner at Bamboo Island. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a great experience here at this inn. It was clean and the service was very friendly! The location was perfect with a 2 minute walk to bradenton beach and so close to several restaurants, bars and shops on anna maria island. Staff was very friendly and the place was beautiful. Would stay again and highly recommend!

This is a great property; however, we have been visiting the island for 20 years, and we decided to give a new business a try. Could not get in our room because door code world not work, and when we repeatedly called the number, the extension for emergency check in did not even exist. It was Xmas night at 8:00pm. No one answered. Did not get a call back until 11:30pm. Had already made alternate sleeping arrangements, and they did not offer to pay for any inconvenience! Only offered to compensate the night that we obviously COULD NOT get into room! DUH! Poor business practice! Plenty of other places on the island, which would offer extended recompense due to the circumstances. Disappointed to say the least. We will go back to our old faithfuls who take care of us.

Pelican Post is such a gem. It’s a quiet, well kept property. Close to food, shopping and most importantly, the beach. We walked everywhere. Parked our car when we got there and didn’t use it again until we left. Each unit has a marked space so parking is easy. Check in is so simple. You are texted the code to the lock on your unit. Makes things so simple. Don’t have to worry about bringing a key with you everywhere you go. I’d definitely stay here again.

The all star of our experience here was our check in with Nicole V. She was amazing from the first phone call to confirm our reservation.She went above and beyond yo make us feel welcome. She also gave us amazing recommendations that truly made our experience so amazing. Thank you Nicole!!!

My husband and I have stayed at the pelican Post many times but this was our first visit after hurricane Helene and Milton. We were SO HAPPY to see that the hotel look just as good as it did before! The booking process was smooth and thanks to the girl who checked us in, our stay was made even better! She was very sweet and welcomed us back as returning customers! Our interaction with her was wonderful, so if you are reading this Janelle, thanks again – you’re the best! And kudos to the owners and the rest of the staff, you are part of the reason why we love coming to Anna Maria!

This is a cute little property. If you can get past the check in situation, you will like the little place. The pool is nice. The rooms are nice. I would recommend they put a small table in the room place to sit up on the couch. The shower Handle in the pool area was broken off which needed to be repaired. We were allowed to check in early but had to make two trips to the main office which is located about 2 miles away for them to give us the code. Be sure you list a credit card Number for incidentals for if you do not, he will have to go to the office. These people do not pick up the phone. Keep that in mind I called several times and nobody picked up the phone. I had to drive back 2 miles from the property just to leave a credit card on file . Room attendance were very nice. They do provide beach chairs, but they are not in the room. They are on the walkway. There is no real view other than the back of the post office. It is a good location if you want to go to Bridge Street or most of the Shops are located. For the price I would recommend.
