Bay & Basin

Position in town was OK. Stairs are unsuitable as we are 80 years of age, and find it difficult to carry our bags up stairs. Need to install a lift or put warning on booking site about this issue.

Easy communication on arrival for a contactless check in I traveled with my young family so to have a microwave, jug and fridge in the room was great

Overall, the room was basic but clean and comfortable. Shower hot and water pressure good. Usual amenities in the room, could have done with some tissues though. The Lodge is on the main road but was fairly quiet, we slept well. There are no ground floor rooms, and access is only by stairs, not good for people with mobility issues. A couple of extra hooks or rails is needed to hang towels in the bathroom, especially for 2 people. Only one (1) key is issued which is not ideal, sometimes my husband and I go separate ways and trying to organise this with 1 key was challenging. There is no reception or personal touch. There is a list of mobile numbers on the door to try and get in touch with someone to check in. I needed an extra towel and luckily I found a housekeeping person or I would have had to try ringing a bunch of mobiles. No information about the Lodge in the room, I had to ring the mobiles again to find out what to do with the key when I was leaving. An information folder in the room would have been helpful. The mobile numbers are only listed on the from door. Not sure how housekeeping works if you need extra linen etc. I just made our own bed and luckily I brought extra coffee & tea. The Lodge is very convenient to everything, right next to the local shops and the Country Club is across the road. I would stay again but I cannot see value for the money.

Nice n relaxing 3 night stay. Room was very spacious, king bed was comfy. Fridge was big enough to store stuff for my 3 night stay. Bathroom has big vanity handy for our toiletries. And very happy that floor did not get overly wet after each shower. Good to hv eateries within walking distance for dinner. All in all very happy with our short break at Sanctuary Point.

The property is well located in terms of exploring the Jervis Bay area, just a few minutes drive to Vicentia, Huskisson & Hyams Beach. While in the Sanctuary Point locality, it's all short walks to the shops, restaurants & take away shops. Bay & Basin by itself is a very comfortable place of stay with a well maintained & clean room (Family Room) and it's got all the basic necessities expected for this kind of accommodation, eg. nice comfy bed, Aircon, clean bathroom complemented by a steady stream of warm temp shower water. There is also a Microwave & Coffee/Tea Facility. A Toaster would be a good addition to the room, just a suggestion. The remote check-in process was a breeze, thanks to Kerry for guiding us through the way to access the property. There are a few more things that are good to mention about this place but these are the main ones that I can think of. Would consider staying again in the future & recommend Bay & Basin as a great place of stay when in the Jervis Bay area.

Information supplied did not indicate that there were no ground floor units. A lot of stairs. Room was a little cramped.

Great stop to explore area except for the weather. Good additions in the room like dishes, cutlery wasing up equipment. Fairly priced for area

Location was good, easy 10-15 min drive to Hyams and Huskisson and 30 min into Nowra. We walked the trail by the bay in the morning and enjoyed spotting kangaroos in the area in the evening. We traveled with our dog and paid extra for this which is understandable as the room had carpet.

The outside of this property is not so inviting; don’t be put off because inside is a very clean and comfortable room with all modern conveniences. Luxurious mattress and pillows, crisp white bedding, a fridge, freezer and microwave. Bathroom is clean and the shower has good pressure. Parking is easy and there are pet friendly rooms available. Checking in was easy and the host very friendly. I’d recommend this motel for anyone wanting to stay in this area.

Room was very nice, cutlery and crockery was provided but no tea towel or washing up detergent to wash with, had to use the hand towel in bathroom. Substantial amount of mould around the bottom of the shower glass.

Hairs left all over unit, with no benches evidently wiped clean. Two single beds, connected to make queen bed. Very pricy for what was offered.

Comfortable accommodation for the price. Could do with better lighting and the king size bed had two mattresses together but they were different mattresses and were a different height unfortunately.

Nice big room and bathroom. No window just a skylight in the ceiling. Very clean and lovely fluffy towels. The country club across the street is amazing!! Great food and entertainment. Family of kangaroos right outside the hotel. Close to the Jervis Bay resorts

The huge rooms were way better in person, the photos online dont do this place justice, the private bathroom is massive with very hot water available with great water pressure (adjustable) The bed was extreamly comfterable with a calming decored room, traveled down for a couple nights from QLD and really enjoyed our stay, perfect service, friendly staff and lovely local community. Well done!

I have had a lovely stay at Bay and Basin Hotel. The room was cosy and warm with facilities to heat a meal or make a cup of tea or coffee. At night, after a lovely hot shower, I snuggled into bed and watched the large screen tv and it was so quiet outside. I felt very secure but close to everything. Thanks for the lovely break Bay and Basin Hotel 😊I’ll be back.

Clean bed was the best l have slept in super comfortable

Clean and well appointed room with comfortable beds. Lack of window/ fresh air compensated by good air con. Good for overnight stay.

Room without a window feels like a prison not a hotel room

Not bad. Clean. Might not book again as i got scared going there as i did not see there are employees onsite.

No one was available to open the front door, so I never even got to stay and ended up sleeping the car. The check-in limit online was midnight. Arrived a little after 10pm to find the doors locked and the lights off except for a storage room. Pounded on front door and no one answered. The phone numbers provided on the door do not connect from international telephones. Sent message through hotels.com and no one replied. It is the following morning now, and still haven't heard from anyone. The room was booked early in the afternoon, so there should be enough notice that I was coming. They sent an auto-generated message and I replied to it. Perhaps adjust the check-in limits on-line or give instructions on what to do for later check-ins so people know in advance. Not sense in driving 4 hrs from Canberra to sleep on the side of the road.

My daughters and I had an excellent stay. The staff were very helpful with information and the room was great.

We never made it!!! Why you think we stayed is beyond me. I called you four times & left messages but with no response at all I have sent two emails through Expedia with no response. You are welcome to call me on the number on my booking & unreturned phone calls Expedite tried to call you twice to discuss our predicament but was unable to contact you which is the same as my experience.

Room was extremely comfortable and check in for myself was after hours and I think the lady’s name was Maureen but she was so helpful and wonderfully polite.

Check in was a phone call and vocal instructions on how to access the property and room never saw a staff member or person and so any problems couldn't be relayed and was a bit painful waiting till after 2 pm before you could even call the owner or manager.

My travelling companions gained access quite easily by ringing the phone number. However, that wasn't my experience. I rang the land line 4 times and the mobile number once before I finally made contact via a return phone call and gained access. It was windy and cold waiting outside for a response to my call. Not impressed with the check in process.

Bay n Basin was a great 3 night stay for my needs on this trip to visit family. The proximity to shops, restaurants and the Country Club made it very convenient. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I had a back room which was very quiet. A setback for some may be the two flights of stairs (no lift) I would definitely stay again.
