I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything (questions/tours/car trouble). The views were incredible and we saw whales and dolphins from our balcony almost every night. The grounds are well maintained and the pool is beautiful. Place was so worth it

Lovely spot on the ocean. Interesting and beautiful property was worth exploring. Trail down to the rocky water edge. Old short castle like walls to support a previous vineyard! The desk gentleman is a descendent of a family vineyard (no longer in the family)! Accommodation was excellent.

The grounds of the property are beautiful! The large outdoor pool is also quite nice. Staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet had lots of tasty options. The room my son and I stayed in was basic in its decor, but the bed was comfy and the water pressure was strong. The location is tucked away and there isn’t much in town, but a 5 minute drive gets you to the highway.
The grounds of the property are beautiful! The large outdoor pool is also quite nice. Staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet had lots of tasty options. The room my son and I stayed in was basic in its decor, but the bed was comfy and the water pressure was strong. The location is tucked away and there isn’t much in town, but a 5 minute drive gets you to the highway.

We had a lovely stay at Caloura Hotel Resort. The location is quiet, remote, and beautiful—perched on the cliffs with peaceful sea views and lush gardens. It was especially nice to be able to walk down to the ocean through the grounds. The hotel feels very calm and relaxing, but you definitely need a car to get around. We had a ground-floor room overlooking the pool. The room itself was fairly basic but comfortable, and it was great to have a little balcony. The corridor outside had a strange smell when we first arrived, but the staff quickly resolved it after we mentioned it at reception. I wish I could remember the receptionist’s name (possibly Alfonso?)—he was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times. The food was a bit hit-and-miss, but the staff were always apologetic and clearly doing their best. Overall, the friendliness and helpfulness of the team really made a difference and made up for anything the hotel might lack in luxury. Lots of free parking too. We’d happily stay again and would recommend it to others looking for a peaceful base on São Miguel.

Lovely ocean front property with stunning views from the room. We enjoyed the grounds and how quiet and secluded the property is. Breakfast was fairly average but does the job. There is only soap in the washroom so be sure to bring what you need.

The property is beautiful and clean, the staff was great, the beds comfortable and the view from the room was amazing. The only thing that disappointed us was that the pool wasn't heated and was much too cold, even for us Canadians (felt around 60F/15C). I realize it is still winter, but the weather would have been warm enough for us crazy Canucks to swim.

Beautiful property friendly staff. The only negative I can think of the swimming pool was never cleaned for the duration of our stay 20 days. The bottom of the pool had a lot of dead bugs and insects whenever we used the oool.

The property is in a beautiful location and the surrounding area is spectacular. The rooms were large and very clean and daily houskeeping was nice The only downfall for me was arranged to have massage at your sister hotel while my husband was biking for half day. Your hotel organozed it for me but did not advise me of the use of that hotels spa facilites was included in the day. That would have been a lovely day for me had i been aware and prepared a swimsuit. Also my husband would have been able to join me. Very disappointed as spent a lot on the massage as appears theu use of spa is built in price. Other than that i have nothing but praise for your hotel. One of your staff i think Alexander perhaps was alwasy welcomijg and helpful Thank you

I enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of this property. The staff is very friendly and the facility is very clean. I found that the buffet dinner had less options than the years before. What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon trip, and could not have been happier. The front desk staff were kind and informative. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast (and dinner) was amazing and delicious and so worth the price! It is located in such a great place too, right on the cliffside with a gorgeous view of the ocean, and within driving distance of plenty of other beautiful spots on the island (all of the island is beautiful to be honest). If you are looking for a place to stay- this is the one! We hope to return here again in the future :)

Lage perfekt. Frühstücksbuffet herrvoragend. Abendbuffet (30 € p.P.) qualitativ und Auswahl sehr gut. Zimmer sehr schön renoviert mit tollem Balkon. Alle Zimmer mit Meerblick. Bett sehr bequem. Leider in unserem Zimmer noch Duschbad (nicht in allen Zimmer ist das Bad schon renoviert worden) - aber ok.

Finally got an opportunity to experience this hotel, and let me tell you, the pool area and oceans views are worth the stay. We did stay 4-nights in a renovated room, but the bathroom wasn't what we had hoped for as the pictures showed an enclosed glass shower and what we got was a curtain tub shower. Breakfast variety is minimal compared to other larger hotels, and the bed comfort level could get upgraded (warning to couples, two doubles with a mattress pad is your green bed). All and all we did enjoy our stay and the staff were pleasant to interact with.
Finally got an opportunity to experience this hotel, and let me tell you, the pool area and oceans views are worth the stay. The view was absolutely incredible. The staff — especially the man at the front desk — was extremely attentive, professional, and cheerful. The hotel itself was just amazing. The view from the room at the back was breathtaking. What I liked less was that the mattress was, for me, way too firm — or maybe just old and worn out.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything (questions/tours/car trouble). The views were incredible and we saw whales and dolphins from our balcony almost every night. The grounds are well maintained and the pool is beautiful. Place was so worth it

We had a lovely stay at Caloura Hotel Resort. The location is quiet, remote, and beautiful—perched on the cliffs with peaceful sea views and lush gardens. The view was absolutely incredible. The staff — especially the man at the front desk — was extremely attentive, professional, and cheerful. The hotel itself was just amazing. The view from the room at the back was breathtaking. What I liked less was that the mattress was, for me, way too firm — or maybe just old and worn out.

What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon trip, and could not have been happier. The front desk staff were kind and informative. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast (and dinner) was amazing and delicious and so worth the price! It is located in such a great place too, right on the cliffside with a gorgeous view of the ocean, and within driving distance of plenty of other beautiful spots on the island (all of the island is beautiful to be honest). If you are looking for a place to stay- this is the one! We hope to return here again in the future :)

Ideally placed to explore the island, all the rooms offer great sea views. The restaurant, open until 10 pm, is very accommodating. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Ponta Delgada is only 15 minutes away by car and last but not least the personnel is nice and kind.

The grounds of the property are beautiful! The large outdoor pool is also quite nice. Staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet had lots of tasty options. The room my son and I stayed in was basic in its decor, but the bed was comfy and the water pressure was strong. The location is tucked away and there isn’t much in town, but a 5 minute drive gets you to the highway.

Staff were really helpful. When we were allocated a different room to the one we booked they changed it immediately. It was also my 60 birthday while I was there. My husband arranged a meal for me . They went all out to make it special for me and also made me a lovely cake. The location is wonderful with stunning views. An excellent hotel can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This resort and staff went above and beyond. When I tell you I was impressed I mean it! In addition to expected accommodations/amenities, they went out of their way to arrange a thoughtful, elegant, cliffside proposal dinner with a customized a-la-carte meal/wine for myself and my fiancé and had beautiful rose-pedal decor added to our suite timed perfectly after popping the question. Additionally, everyone on staff knew and treated us fondly with congratulations. They also were thoughtful with gestures for my birthday later in the trip with room service gestures. The place has plenty of parking, breathtaking views, peaceful serenity surrounding the pool, an isolated feel that remained plenty accessible to city and exploration. We felt at home and at peace the entire stay and they placed of friends down the hall from us for ease of access! Although there was no spa access here, they arranged reservations at nearby facilities for us to enjoy seamlessly on numerous days. Special thank you to Paula, Sonia, Marina, Milton, Ana Margarida, Ana Sofia, Joana and BOTH Alonsos. This was incredible. The views. The people. I give it my top recommendation
