The property and pool are gorgeous! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only downside was slow pool bar service. Also consider the location if you will be relying on ubers- often times drivers cancel because of the difficulty getting to the top of the hill. I will definitely recommend the hotel and stay again if I return to Rio.

This is my favorite get away in Rio. The grounds, pool area and buildings are just perfect. I hope they never change a thing. We checked in early and never left the hotel for 24 hours as the restaurant and bar on site are perfect. Thanks for an amazing time, and we will be back soon!

This hotel has lovely décor and the rooms are lovely with the eye for detail to what a traveler needs. The pool area is nice clean and calm with great service. The break feast was amazing with many options. If you love interior design this place is filed with small gems of natural artwork. The spa at the hotel was a lovely treat too. The location in Santa Teresa is very central and a walk around the area feels safe.

Pros: Great location in Santa Teresa. Very nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Nice heated pool, long enough for laps. Nice garden and bar area. Cons: We had a deluxe room with balcony. The room (#14) was very small and there was nothing to put up our 2 suitcases. Putting them on the floor made it difficult to walk. The bathroom also did not have enough space to place toiletries.

Stayed at MGallery Rio for a week for my birthday in search of a peaceful place to relax and wind down. The place is beautiful with incredible views and garden, prefect place to relax after a long hot a hectic day in Rio. Staff is great and welcoming, they were very helpful and offered to change my room as i was given a room close to entrance/frontyard which can be noisy to due to guests talking in front of it. Food and breakfast is really excellent, pool and jacuzzi were great too although the deck could be refreshed. I would definitely stay there again.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, as was dinner in Tereze. Area around may seem intimidating but very safe during the day, would not venture far at night. Make sure to know your route , do not wander aimlessly as it is close to several favelas. I would request a room not on the "mountain side" as this is right beside the tram line and noisy. Spa was nice, pool was great.

This was our second stay and we honestly can’t fault the exemplary service levels we received and the quality of food in Tereza Restaurant. The staff genuinely make you feel welcome and are so helpful. Whilst we appreciate renovations need to be undertaken, we hadn’t been informed before our arrival that the views across Rio would be obliterated by hoarding. The pool area wasn’t ideal for a relaxed stay which is why we’ve given a 4* rating. Please don’t be put off because MGallery offers a little bit of quiet paradise in frantic Rio!

Les chambres ont besoin d'un rafraîchissement, lit pas confortable, climatiseur qui fonctionnait pas etc. Nous avons passé 2 jours avec des travaux dans l'étage supérieur de notre chambre, nous avons fait la remarque à la réception et rien n'a été fait pour améliorer la situation. La piscine pas propre, serveur au bar qui passe la journée sur son téléphone au lieu de ramasser les feuilles dans la piscine. Le seul point positif de notre séjour est le petit déjeuner. Nous avons séjourner dans un autre hôtel dans le même quartier "La villa Paranagua" où tout était parfait.

Good location in quiet, safe neighbourhood close to nearby tourist attractions. Spacious room but facilities not as modern as I expected. The pool is nice but by afternoon it gets dirty with leaves. Very good massage by Michelle. The buffet breakfast has a nice selection but more options (eggs) at the weekend. The coffee is outstanding, a nice zesty orange flavour with plenty available at reception throughout the day. One thing that did annoy me was that in the rooms, they’re are notices stating they have a project to help the environment by reducing laundry and if you don’t want your towels washed that day leave them hanging up. I put one towel on the floor for washing and left others on the hook hanging for not washing but all towels were replaced. Why have signs if you’re not going to following this?? Also it annoyed me in the restaurant that only menus were available by QR codes, it would be my preference to actually see a physical menu for ease of use. Staff were friendly and provided assistance when requested

Banheiro não tem porta, o que atrapalha privacidade. Uma pequena janela dentro da área do chuveiro que precisava ficar fechada o tempo todo, inclusive cortinas. Chuveiro dentro da banheira. Vendem o conceito de quarto com banheira, mas é uma banheira bem precária… Daquelas dentro do box, nada confortável. Seria muito melhor um bom chuveiro com acesso melhor do que essa banheira como é. Área do vaso sanitário tb muito pequena e sem ventilação, com teias de aranha nos cantinhos… As toalhas não secam pela falta de ventilação e por terem apenas pequenos ganchos para toalhas que não permitem essa secagem.

The hotel is adorable and the staff is very friendly. Santa Teresa is a artsy neighborhood with great food and entertainment options. The only issue with my stay is that they leave delicious complimentary chocolate & coffee cookies in the room and they attract hundreds of ants. I appreciate the gesture but they must realize this is an issue in the property. I probably ate a dozen tiny ants before I saw them crawling all over my hand and arm.

1. Terrible bathroom - ridiculous design and unsafe, plus the shower controls were awful. 2. No 110v power - the hotel provided a transformer which gave me an electric shock. 3. No elevator 4. We loved this hotel. A real oasis in the hills away from the amazing hustle and bustle of downtown Rio. Wonderful staff who were very happy to help you out. A lovely restaurant where we celebrated our friend’s birthday. Wonderful balcony room with a slight view of Christ Reedemer. Loved the pool and pool bar, although the cocktail making could do with some attention, and the staff there were slow. Would come back to stay if ever in Rio again.

As always, I had an exceptional stay at the hotel. The staff proved to be exceptionally attentive, and I benefited from an unprecedented double upgrade and a late check-out. In fact, the staff were the most attentive I have ever seen, having stayed in five star hotels across the globe. The Michelin-star restaurant is to die for and the artwork is mesmerizing. I must for lovers of sophisticated boutique hotels.

This is beautiful old colonial style house that has been turned into a boutique hotel. If you want to stay away from the beach area and hotel strip, this is a wonderful stay. It is very quiet and relaxing so keep that in mind when booking. The staff was amazing and helpful. Tip: book the higher level rooms for more space and better views.

Shic boutique hotel in great location for visiting Lapa and the surrounding area. Very trendy decor with a great restaurant. Staff were super helpful with recommendations and even booked tour tickets for us. Would gladly recommended this hotel and the rooms were beautiful.

We loved this hotel. A real oasis in the hills away from the amazing hustle and bustle of downtown Rio. Wonderful staff who were very happy to help you out. Our bedroom was a scam, we paid almost $700 USD for a deluxe room with a supposed « garden » view (Carnaval period), we only had one window, we had a very cheap courtyard with all the hotel building surrounded us. In consequence, almost no natural light. They told us the hotel was full so they could not offer something else, but the day after (when we checked out) we actually learnt it was not. We were super disappointed because it was recommended by our friend and it came out so cheap. I’ve checked out the price, we actually paid (certainly because of carnaval) more than the night cost of their master suite (announced at $600) for the worst and cheapest room ever. As for the brunch, overall not too bad, but wouldn’t recommend the egg Benedict with salmon, but their salmon smelled so fishy. We met another American couple who tried this too and they couldn’t eat the salmon either. The hotel amenities are very nice, the swimming pool is great, with a nice view and the overall architecture of the building is beautiful. We recommend the neighborhood which is nice.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, as was dinner in Tereze. Area around may seem intimidating but very safe during the day, would not venture far at night. Make sure to know your route , do not wander aimlessly as it is close to several favelas. I would request a room not on the "mountain side" as this is right beside the tram line and noisy. Spa was nice, pool was great.

This was our second stay and we honestly can’t fault the exemplary service levels we received and the quality of food in Tereza Restaurant. The staff genuinely make you feel welcome and are so helpful. Whilst we appreciate renovations need to be undertaken, we hadn’t been informed before our arrival that the views across Rio would be obliterated by hoarding. The pool area wasn’t ideal for a relaxed stay which is why we’ve given a 4* rating. Please don’t be put off because MGallery offers a little bit of quiet paradise in frantic Rio!
