Hotel and location were nice. Walkable shopping and dining in the area. Better signage for access to parking garage would make parking easier for out of town visitors.

Don’t stay here if you’re looking for amenities. Ice maker is only on the 2nd floor where you check in. Bring your own extra towels and blankets if you need them. Other than that the bed was comfy, and location was perfect.

The area was very cool. Would be great for a couples quick getaway. The pool area was disappointing. There were large clumps of hair or fur. The lights were flickering non-stop. The pool was on the murky side, unsure is the chlorine level was where it should be.

Was disappointed the swimming pool was closed down that was one of the highlights of our evening was the pool since we had lost power at home and we wanted to relax and swim. If i would of known the pool was closed i would of picked a different hotel. For the price we paid for one night wasn't worth it.

The pool, which was a primary consideration for my stay, was "closed for repairs". I didn't find that out until the day before my stay when I was 500 miles away on a holiday weekend so I couldn't change it. The hotel itself is run down, the carpets dirty and worn, lettering worn off signs, rooms dated and overall decor dated. The room was not very clean and you could see stains and wear patterns in the carpet...like an old Vegas hotel or something. I stayed here 10 years ago and nothing has changed. It was a neat concept then but now it's just a worn out business hotel. I'll stay elsewhere next time.

The property was under construction, which we were not aware of. The pool was closed. I was traveling with my daughter and she was bummed. The lobby had a pool table which was fun but during the day there was very loud construction noise. For the price I would have gone somewhere else had I known the state of the hotel.

Pool over flooded and front desk was overwhelmed with number of travelers checking in. Digital keys did not work when first assigned, several other travelers had the same issue. Needs more staffing on weekends. Staff was great, just insufficient numbers at the desk.

I should have spent another $20 and stayed somewhere else. When we checked in we were told the lobby bar was not open because the bartender had quit. And it would not be open the duration of our stay. Our room was ok except the toilet seat was up and there was black curly hairs on the glass shower door. I went to find an ice maker to no avail. When I went back to the lobby I located one that was out of order. Finally asked the front desk gal and she said she could go in the back and get me some. Odd I thought that there was one ice machine for guest use… Got up the next morning to work out and use the pool. Pool was closed for renovations. There was nothing on the website that said this. When I asked the front desk how long it had been down, they told me that it should be open next month as they just got approval for some repairs. The final straw was when I went to get some lemon/cucumber iced water available in the lobby and immediately could tell the fruit had gone bad( I am in the hospitality industry). I told the manager on duty they should dump it out and just put ice water in it as rotten fruit could make people sick! I went out then for a work dinner and came back 3 hours later and the water was still sitting there. Clearly there is absentee management at this location as guest satisfaction is non-existent. Even the complimentary coffee was cold. It’s really too bad as the location is phenomenal, but the hotel is sub par at best.

Check-in was good - though parking is around the corner (not ideal in 20 degree weather). Room was good, but the following morning, there was a really loud event at 7am that completely ruined my sleep.

I stayed at this property several times before the pandemic. I loved it. I returned today and it was a different experience. My shower didn’t have hot water. The tiles/grout looked dirty. There was a used tissue under my bed. The pool was closed for repair. The TV remote didn’t work. The floors and walls looked worn.

I frequent at this specific location. My check in was a little later in the evening and knew that the hotel had limited rooms available when booking. Walking into the room it was a handicap accessible room which was not really a problem but there was foul odor as if the previous guest had just left. The bedding was not replaced. It had stains and the foul odor was coming from the comforter, sheets and pillows along with stains. The room phone did not work so had to contact the front desk by my cellphone. The room attendant arrived with new bedding and handed it to me to remake the bed myself because she was off duty for the night. Even the supposed clean sheets had stains as well. Honestly me and my finance could bare the smell or the fact the bedding potentially was not clean so checked out a little earlier.

Run down, felt gross and kind of dumpy, not very clean, gross stains on carpet and couch, hot water only after running the shower for 5 - 7 minutes before getting in, A/C wall panel did not work so we had to change temp on the A/C unit itself, staff was incredible with great customer service. Shame that this property itself did not live up to the Leawood experience.

The hotel is in a really fun area around great shopping and restaurants. However the room we stayed in had visible spackling left on the wall and the bathroom floors had not been cleaned. The shades were not functioning properly which made them difficult to open or close.

This place was terrible. Parking wasn’t even close to the hotel. The air conditioning didn’t work. They sent up a fan and the first fan didn’t work. Please just shut this place down. I m 63 years old and have never wrote a bad review on anything. Lights didn’t work Mold on the ceiling! Please stay away!

Hotel was on great area and cool lobby and common areas. Room was not nice. The wall paper paste is leaking through the paper. The carpet and tile was dirty and worn. The ceiling looked like it had been patched like 10 times and not by a professional. The blinds did not work so we were in a room virtually without windows. Nasty room. They said they did. It have another room to give me…probably would have been the same? Mirror in bathroom was scratched and the pain on the walls (that were not papered) we all marred up. Quality Assurance is greatly needed in this hotel.

The hotel has bad service, cleaning was not coming every day and when they came they did not clean the room properly nor the bathroom at all. There is no good breakfast available, the bedlinnen was open and very light, not adjusted for the cold season.

I’ve stayed in this hotel at least 3 times over the past year, and its continued decline is just sad. This hotel is situated in an upscale little enclave of townhomes and apartments with lovely boutiques and hip restaurants. It averages $200 a night but might as well be a Motel 6 for as well as it’s being maintained. In a word- DIRTY!! All the public spaces are atrocious!! Stained carpeting, dirty windows, disgusting elevator panels. Rooms are dirty and need maintenance. Broken lights, shower handles the norm. 6th floor smells like sewage. Competent and kind check in staff. No upper management to be seen. If you read the reviews, all of these problems have gone unresolved over the last year. Come on, Marriott!! This is not what you expect from a Bonvoy property.

We did not stay at the hotel due to the condition of the rooms they put us in. Very nice lady at check in however this hotel smelled of mold, caused us to cough for 30 minutes after exited the building and had hair and urine on the toilet. Told the front desk lady, asked for cancellation and stayed at a different hotel.

This is an inviting place to stay. Unfortunately, the rooms are worn. Our mattress was abysmally hard. The hanging door to the bathroom was off the tracks, so it could not be closed and was borderline dangerous. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the area is great, with lots of places to eat and shop. But unless the rooms are upgraded, we won't return.

Aloft KC is okish. The check in was fine, but direction for parking was very unclear. The shower did not work, valve handle fell off so it wouldn’t turn on at all.

The overall hotel is very nice. The electrical and lighting in the rooms was difficult to operate. The hot and cold water in shower was reversed.

If the term property includes my room, I enjoyed its design and quirkiness a lot. Bathroom was really well planned and usable. Bed was great. Air-conditioning was verging on medieval, and lighting controls were confusing.

The room was clean and spacious. The hot water took a really long time in the shower and my husband had to take a cold shower. The toilet flushed a little wonky. But overall the room was nice and super convenient. We had a couple’s getaway with dinner at 801 Chophouse and drinks at Verdigris. No driving needed.

I never leave average reviews, but- when they advertise city view, they mean a parking lot/construction behind the hotel- out of 2 small windows. Exposed cracking in concrete ceiling in 635. Check in is on the 2nd floor- very little signage to point toward this & the entrance of actual hotel. All in all, this was meant to be a fun, quick, overnight in kc for my 10yo spring break. 10yo was happy with the experience & pool! Myself & my stepmother are so underwhelmed. Parking is extremely unclear if you're not local. Outside grounds/lanscaping are well kept, but extremely confusing, with little *signage*. 5/10.

The air conditioning in my room/heat was terribly loud. I usually sleep great in the darkness of hotel rooms, but that was not possible.

I was recommended this hotel and it was nothing like I would have expected. This review is a waste of time and I know that but, you asked. I am a business traveler, and I have traveled a lot for the past 8 years. I have stayed in many places and this was one of my least favorites. The rooms are tiny, they do not have closets or storage of any kind for someone staying several days, there was no iron despite the sign that said there was (and no board so what would be the point?), there is only one ice machine for the entire hotel by check in-that is not good for the weary traveler, and the walls and ceiling appeared to be badly patched from damages. It just wasn\'t "nice" or comfortable, despite the area that it was in. The bed wasn\'t even comfortable. Also, your website really should have directions to the parking garage not just the front Valet Door. I had to call the desk from he rental car to figure out where to park.

We have stayed at this property several times and it is always a very pleasant experience. This time we needed to get in before check in time to dress for a wedding. They were very willing to allow us early access. Will be back!

Clean, quiet room, comfortable bed and great staff!

Easy check in, great staff, clean comfy rooms.

1. The water took 10+ minutes to get hot. 2. The tv quality of picture and options of channels was poor 3. The front desk staff was the worst when we checked in. 4. Poorly trained and customer friendly presentation. We wont stay there again.

Staff entered my paid for RESERVED hotel room at 2:30 in the morning while me and my husband were sleeping by "mistake". I felt very unsafe and upset at the invasion of privacy and felt I could not relax or go back to sleep, yet didn't want to leave at that hour and find another hotel location. Very disatisfied and althlugh loved the room and amenities, will not be coming back or recommending this location.

We had to change rooms once but if I was in better condition ( I just had a major surgery the day we checked in ) we would’ve moved to a second room. First room there was no internet and per the front desk there wasn’t anyone in maintenance there . Went to a room number 2 there wasn’t A phone in there which I don’t understand why, I called the from desk for a manager And was told there wasn’t a Manager there until tomorrow . Recieved a knock on the door at 1110 am ( check out is 11am ) Asking if we were extending our stay It was very annoying at that point since they were quick to ask if we were extending the stay but not quick To handle the inconvenience that we had while we were there . Not a good impression for customer service at all . We have stayed at Alofts before and this experience was definitely not the level or service etc we are accustomed to .

My son and I arrived and we waited in line for over 30 mins to get checked in. First the card reader for the room keys wasn’t working and then the computers were so slow. This made us late for a party we were attending. Not even an I’m sorry. Checking always takes 5 mins at other hotels. Then the noice was so loud because there was prom that I wish we were informed about on our floor. The room was dirty and the air conditioner made a loud noice all night.

She gave me room number 338. Surprisingly, there was a family in that room. I was moved to another room. There was no trash bag in the trash can either.

We stayed here for our son's college graduation and had multiple rooms booked for our family. The staff was kind and courteous. Would stay here again.

IT WAS A VERY NICE LOCATION AND VERY SAFE FEELING! THERE WERE DINING PLACES WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE AND THE STAFF WAS GREAT. THE BREAKFAST BAR WAS ONLY COFFEE, HOT CHOCOLATE AND TEA. EVERYTHING ELSE THAT WAS AT THE BREAKFAST BAR HAD TO BE CHARGED TO THE ROOM! OTHER THAN THAT WE WOULD STAY AGAIN AT THIS PLACE. IT WAS A VERY NICE AREA!

Very cool spot, there are so many fun things to do see and eat right outside the hotel doors. Can't wait to come back.

We’ve stayed at this property several times and love that it provides many options including shopping, food and easy parking in the garage. There was an outdoor concert when we were there and there is ice skating in the winter. Great bar service too!

When you pay for this hotel you aren’t paying for anything other than the location/convenience of the spot. In the shower the handle was broken, boogers on the wall and a wet towel rolled up in front of the shower. There was no view from our room besides an ac unit. They will tell you breakfast ends at 11am but it ends at 10am. Save your money and go to someplace nicer.

I just loved this hotel mainly for the location. We had a great view of the ice rink, fire pits. So quiet but plenty of things to do and see. I’d stay here again and again. Great staff, bar, beds. Not enough towels provided. No drawers for clothes.

The pool was closed and should be advertised as not in working condition. It was my daughters bday party and that was a huge disappointment. I had to move rooms as mine was at 78 and would not cool down. The breakfast bar only had coffee and hot water as complimentary. When you’re paying that much to stay somewhere for one night some type of breakfast should be included. There was no coffee by 9 am and no milk for the cereal we had to purchase. So for the price, disappointing.
