Pot smell, noisy, hallway smelled like mildew. The morning we left the carpet in the hallway was soaked. Empty beer bottles were out on the balcony.

Nice hotel next to a 7 eleven, they give free continental breakfast coffee and cereal. My only complaint is the tub was a little dirty but overall the hotel is not bad. I felt very safe because you have to use a card to open the hallway door to each floor.

internet was down when I went to check in and there is no back-up plan to check a customer in. Also, booked a smoking room - was given a nonsmoking. I realized and had it corrected. The room that we were given was not set up for guests - missing towels, no extra roll of toilet paper (I had to go to the desk at 6 am for a roll)

The advertising said connecting rooms which is the main reason we chose this hotel! The attended stated there was no such thing! The floor was soaking wet as soaked

Our room had part of the ceiling fall down Pieces of the tile in the bed and floor. The phone in our room not working. The perdon on duty could have cared less. When i asked to be moved he said they were all full.Dont believe. Told me expedia.com ptoblem. That room cost me $200

Didn't like desk clerk due to limited English. Office was dismal and small. Not a nice part of town

There was Broken Glass on the balcony. There were one set of towels for two adults and the entire carpet outside our room was soaked from vending machine

Check in was a challenge. First room did not have a doorknob on the bathroom. Second room was directly across from the very noisy ice machine and smelled strongly of smoke. Third room had a big patch in the ceiling but was otherwise workable. Person in the office was super helpful and kept giving us keys to try each room but it took too long to find a useable room. Rooms each need a bit of help to bring them up to snuff. Cost was reasonable for the area but not for the state of the hotel. Please keep working on the remodel.

We did not get the room we booked and paid for. The locks on the doors to the hotel didn’t work so you didn’t need a key to get into the hotel. The carpet in the hallway was dirty. It looked like it was never vacuumed. There was garbage in the hallway. The room was unsanitary. We ran out of toilet paper and we were told they didn’t have anymore. There were no tissues. Luckily I had wipes with me. The floor turned our socks black we had to wear shoes the whole time. There were holes in the walll with wires coming out. There were holes in the screen for the window. There was caked up dirt behind the stand that held the phone and lamp. The phone was not even plugged into the wall jack, so that didn’t work. The jack was somewhere in the dirt, dust, and garbage behind the bed. The sheets and blankets were dirty and had burn holes. The fridge looked like it hadn’t been cleaned the freezer was frozen over it had never been defrosted. There was mold in the bathroom. The tub was so gross we had to wear flip flops to take a shower. For some reason there was toilet paper stuffed into the door peak hole. It was a nightmare. There were sketchy people in the parking lot. I would recommend sleeping in the car instead of this place.

This place was disgusting roaches and dirty jacuzzi I paid over $200 for one night and it wasn’t worth it by far

The smell was AWFUL. When I walked in for the first time I saw a fruit loop on the floor, behind the door of the hotel room. The sink had something down inside the drain. Did not feel safe even though it had good locks. It had a ironing board and no iron. I would NOT stay there again.

Hallways were very dirty and smelled disgusting. When I got to the room it was filthy, and there were bed bugs literally on the pillow. I took photos. I went straight to the front desk to ask for a refund. He was very unhelpful and told me I have to contact Expedia to get a refund. When speaking to Expedia they tried to contact the front desk to ask for a refund, they were told the clerk couldn’t authorize it. When they tried to call back a second time the hotel wouldn’t answer. I’m still waiting to find out if Expedia can get a refund, but the hotel is less than helpful. This place is filthy. Do not stay here.

The bathroom was dirty, they left boxers in the bathroom. It looked like they only made the bed and changed the trash. I don't normally like to leave bad reviews but it really wasn't worth the cost for one night. There was no refund.

This place is one of the worst if not the worst in the entire area. I haven’t stayed at the Ivory Tower but I hear that one is bad too. This one is pretty horrible. I like the area because it’s right off of 22 so it’s close to a lot of good place but other than that it’s not worth the stay. It’s very old and outdated. It says HBO included but I couldn’t get the tv to work at all. No signal. The bed, pillow cases, and towels looked unclean to me. The staff? Not completely horrible but not friendly and certainly not helpful.

Good price to high to the hotel is no the best you can hear next room

The staff was not friendly or helpful. The room was stiflingly hot when we arrived and it took hours to cool down. The room smelled of smoke even though the hotel was supposed to be non-smoking. The room was old and shabby. The sliding door wouldn’t close all the way and was rigged with a latch instead of being fixed. There was a homeless guy sleeping in the hall downstairs. The “breakfast” was very limited and didn’t open on time either of the days we were there and the staff harassed my husband about being there on time. We will not be back.

The place was a dump. We left 5 min after we saw the room. Was billed on cc. Still not refunded. Manager was rude and cursed at us. Told us off we don’t like it go to another hotel. We left a suit in the room and next day when we went to get it. He lied and said we didn’t leave it there. After waiting 30 minutes. He found it. Returned to us in a garbage bag. Crackheads hangin out in parking lot and in hallways. Never stay nor recommend ever. It sucked totally. And this was all after we drove from Florida. Issue the refund please for 126.09

It was clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free coffee and breakfast really helps in the morning. We always stay here when we’re in town.

The staff is amazing! The rooms are cleaned daily…the breakfast is perfect when you’re on the go or headed to work! I love the environment

Very pleasant stay. I was surprised by the quality for the moderate price. Staff was friendly, room was nice. I had a nice two-night stay.

I booked on Expedia. Easy as pie. They sent me a text saying I could mobile check in ahead of time to save time when I was there. I got to the check in desk and the man could not find my reservation for about 20 minutes despite me showing him my confirmation number and all that and he was rude with me saying why would I use the website etc. Finally he found it. No time saved there. The website for Howard Johnson specifically say’s several in several places all rooms are nonsmoking. Good I do not smoke. I get to the room there are burns in the sheets and it stinks of cigarettes. Gross. The floors were dirty, with debris in the corners and such. All day and into the night there was doors slamming and loud music and such. So I get a text saying I can mobile check out. So I do and I decided it was finally quiet enough so I could take a nap I requested a late checkout on the website. It told me I could stay til 3pm for an additional 40$. Well the man at the desk told me it was 50$ and proceeded to show me a hand written note about prices. I showed him the website which clearly stated 40$ and he continued to argue and be nasty to me. So I decided to just leave. Awful experience and terrible service. I will never return there

After a very stressful time at the airport, I arrived after a cancelled flight to an older man at the front desk who simply grunted at me. He gave me no information about the hotel, about the breakfast I’d paid for. He didn’t speak to me. It felt very unwelcoming. The following morning, the breakfast was not edible- and I am not a fussy eater. I would not stay at a Howard Johnson again.

We asked to change our reservation and were told by Travelocity that it couldn't be doe. So we drove 2 hours out of our way, got to the hotel and were told our reservation was canceled. Another man was told the same thing right after us.

The hotel felt dangerous specially for someone that is coming out of town- paying extra $100 to stay in a safe hotel is well worth it- until now Expedia did not refund my money although they promised to ask the hotel manager to refunded promptly since I didn’t stay at that hotel fearing for my safety.

This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. The sidewalk outside the hotel had food scraps, trash, and used condoms along it. The common hallway that connected all the rooms smelled heavily of marijuana. The room itself was not clean at all - stains on the walls and curtains, residue on the counters and surfaces, stains on the carpeting. (We never walked on the floor in our bare feet due to concerns about what we might be walking on.) The worst part was the smell - the room smelled like marijuana and sweat. The only other room available in the area was over $300/night, so we powered through since it was for just one night, but I did not sleep well because I was so uncomfortable.

I think Motel 8 is better and clean; the hotel smells nasty, they are people smoking marijuana everywhere, was a guy in the parking area offering drugs for sale, and the room was horrible; please not a clean place and not a safe place. I was there for two hours and left. Stay away from this place. I can’t believe Expedia advertising this Hotel. Shame on you!!!

This is my hometown and I’m just visiting so I love the area surrounding the hotel. The hotel itself isn’t terrible but it isn’t great either. The room is ok, not great but good enough. The staff is horrendous. Unfortunately, unhelpful, and only did what they absolutely had to. Didn’t tell us what room we were in, where to park, how to get to the room, or explain any of the amenities or how breakfast works. Or even if there’s breakfast.

Wake up call came in one hour late. No lids for morning coffee. Very sparse breakfast. Minimal truck stop type of motel. For $189 per night, one would and should expect more. The night clerk/manager responded quickly when I told him the fire alarm was going off in my room and though he was courteous, he shrugged his shoulders when I asked him for which local restaurants delivered and motioned his thumbs over his mobile phone to indicate I should look them up. Basic impression: my presence or patronage didn’t seem to matter at all. I will avoid this facility and recommend to others to do themselves a favor and find another.

You have to walk around to get to your room and breakfast isn’t breakfast at all
