Quality Inn Redding near I-5

45 minutes to check in. dozens of small flying bugs in the room attracted to the light and on the wall. Room had a funky odor. Floors were dirty, white socks black. Parking lot well lit, bed was comfortable, easy access to I-5, breakfast was pretty good.

We love this Quality Inn. Close to freeway and lots of parking for RV's.

Overall, the hotel was comfortable, but we did notice a number of homeless individuals around the area. While we didn’t have any issues, we stayed cautious, especially with young teens. Otherwise, the room was clean, housekeeping was attentive, and there’s plenty of parking, including for larger vehicles. If you're traveling with pets, the dog area is convenient, though it’s near the picnic tables. Just be mindful of the neighborhood, but the hotel itself was a good choice.

Rooms look like they have been recently renovated and were clean and stocked with everything you need. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit shabby and could probably do with an upgrade. Breakfast was OK - at the time of our visit the hotel was not busy so I think some breakfast items had been left out for a while and were not as fresh as they could have been. Was OK for the price we paid as it was clean and comfortable in the rooms. Close to restaurants and shopping.

The check-in clerk was a little short on cheerfulness and was not really welcoming. He did the bare minimum job and I guess that's all I can ask. He gave confusing directions to the room and didn't point out the pool or breakfast (I already knew about them, but I would expect the desk clerk to tell guests about them). I don't know if 3rd floor was all that was left but he made it sound like that was the only option. I don't mind - it was quiet up there - but for many people it would have been a big problem. The room was clean. The air conditioning labored to keep the temperature down to around 70. The shower head was more of a dribbler. Bed moderately comfortable. It's sort of disturbing to see bits of crumbling stucco and concrete on the stairs and walkways. But the price was right so I can't complain too much.

Got upgraded to the King bedroom for free. the front desk lady was very friendly. checkin was fast. The room is facing the afternoon sun, so the room tends to get pretty warm, we kept the AC on all the time in order to cool down the room. At night, there are a lot of small bugs flying around the lighting area. Not a pleasant experience. For the same reason, we don't open the window to let the night breeze air in. The room was nice and spacious. I like the room is with hardwood / tile type of floor instead of carpet. However, I think they don't use the carpet because it is more pet friendly. our neighbor's dogs barks a lot. Something to watch out if you are a light sleeper. The hotel is not handicap / disability friendly as there is no elevator to access the second floor, you are limited to use the ground floor rooms only. Breakfast was OK. The coffee could be better.

The exterior pictures are misleading in Expedia a bit and makes it look like this is a hotel with hallways and stairs on the inside but they are on the outside. This means anyone can be walking in and around the hallways. Our room was pretty rough in that the front door looked like it had been kicked in at some point and then they tried to repair the strike plate but really a whole new frame is needed. The floor in our room was lifting up and buckling not sure if the LVP was just installed wrong or just very old. The unit had all LVP flooring I think since it was an accessible room and seems as though it had not been mopped or cleaned in weeks so we had to wear old socks just to walk on it otherwise your feet would get very dirty. It does have a pool and the breakfast was one of the better free breakfasts I have had at a hotel in the past year. If I came through town in the near future I would probably pick a different hotel but note it is also one of the cheaper hotels.

A/C did not work (it was uncomfortably hot in the room), the floors were dirty, the chair was filthy, and the bathroom sink drained slowly.

Very clean and clean smelling room. My towels were very clean and very soft. Bed great. 3 pillows. Hard wood floors, not gross carpet. A/C worked great on maintaining the temp I wanted. I didn't know the maid would be servicing on a 2 day stay, but it happened. Very Nice.

The lobby staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the first room i was in was dirty so i switched rooms. The second room was a suite and had very stained walls and the window blinds were falling off the windows.

Ladies that work there were nice but the place was dirty. So very dirty. Couldn’t walk around without shoes, baseboards were thick with grime, couldnt take a shower without shower shoes, spiders in the walk corners ect. Bed and sheets were clean though

Room Conditions: -sheets had not been changed from previous guest/ obvious they were slept in. - hair throughout the bed - visibly dirty comforter -hair along restroom floor/baseboards Breakfast: Good! Eggs waffles, coffee, etc. Overall. Price is affordable for a place with breakfast. We stayed there 2 years ago and it was nice and clean. Figured we would do it again as we traveled this year, but definitely not the same experience. -

Dirty towels, dirty bed sheets and comforter, bed sinking in, AC not working properly. Couldn’t sleep. My husband shared 1 face towel because all of the towels have yellow stains looks like dog pee stains all over.

Air-conditioning kept us up, very loud. The floor was dirty, when I got in the shower I left foot prints in the tub.

The fellow working the night shift was very friendly and thorough when we checked in. However, the WiFi did not connect as room 121 was too far away to pick up the signal. The wifi was great at the office area. I would suggest getting an expander to reach the all guest rooms. 👍

The amenities were a little battered, most obviously the ac/heating unit. I used it to heat the room, but it still made a variety of pops and fizzles more akin to an AC compressor. The bed was OK, shower was OK, but never got that hot. Breakfast was on par with anything from a Hampton inn or Mariott equivalent. Middling location - walking to dinner down the block I had to avoid one homeless person sleeping on the sidewalk and another who was shouting at a streetlight. Redding has changed for the worse.

This place is one of my regular stops between southern Cal and Oregon. I do 2-4 nights per year here so I know it pretty well. Big property and usually pretty empty. The desk clerks are always upbeat and friendly. Needed my room changed after check-in -- I'd requested a queen bed and to be on the lower level, but apparently the queen beds are on the upper level unless you want a "handicapped room" (as she so un-PC referred to it). I took it but immediately realized yes it has a massive bathroom but no desk, and I need a desk. But she quickly moved me into a lower with two doubles (and a desk) which was perfectly fine. There are two downsides to the place. One is that the bathtubs don't have those traction strips in them, so they are slick and super slippery especially after you use soap or shampoo. My coordination is pretty good but I still nearly took a header. Be very very careful in the shower! The other issue is that the internet is unreliable. It drops out for extended periods. Every time I go there I use my mobile hotspot at some point. So if you need internet while there make sure you know how to access your mobile hotspot. As always I got takeout from the Cattlemen's a few blocks down. Excellent BBQ!

Breakfast is pretty good compared to others. Only thing for me is that if you're in the first floor and there is someone on the second floor, every foot step can be loud below.

The overall experience was good, but the room heater was very noisy

The wifi did not work and all they could say at the front desk was that it had been having issues for 2 days. I was out and about to early for the breakfast and done with that too late. I could not figure out or shut up the alarm clock so I unplugged it and relied soly on my own. At least it was easy in and out of this one and to Sundial Bridge.

The front desk guy Benjamin is absolutely horrible!! Apparently they have a $500 deposit for locals (which I was never told about when booking the room) anyways my mother went to check in and was told they needed the $500 before they would allow them to check in and sent them away because they didn’t have an extra $500 at 9:00 at night. Long story some what short I tried calling at 7:00 the next morning trying to pay the deposit and was told that because they didn’t check in the night prior (they wouldnt allow them to check in) that the entire week reservation was cancelled because of that. Benjamin told me to call Expedia and get a refund for the canceled reservation and to rebook and make an entirely new reservation so that’s what I did. I got the refund which takes 7-10 days to be returned to your bank account and went and made a brand new reservation through Expedia as directed. I called Benjamin back right before hitting complete on the reservation and before another $743 charge came out of my account to double check with him that I was doing exactly what he wanted me too. Then he proceeded to tell me that I was being very shady and suspicious by trying to book a room for my mother and her fiancé and that’s he’s now refusing to allow them to stay. I tried asking why he thought any of this was “shady” and he couldn’t give me an answer. He should not be in customer service! He’s extremely rude and I still can’t believe he spoke to me the way he did. Do not stay there!!

Cassie , at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. I had driven a long distance and she was quick at checking me in so I could relax. Room was nice, clean, comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff. Heidi was very accomodating with our request. We will surely go back. The room is clean and comfy beds.

Everything went well except for one staff on duty the night of 12/28. The lady who checked us in was rude in the sense that when we were asking questions she pretended not to hear and when I repeated the question she responds without looking at us. And this happened more than twice. All other staff were great.

The Young lady who checked us in was kind, informative of what they had to make our stay the best it could be. She answered several questions right away and was so considerate of our late arrival. Breakfast was amazing and the morning staff were also very kind and friendly. I travel to the area about 1-2 times per month so we will deffinitely stay here on our next trip !

They asked for a drivers license for some reason and could not tell me why. Lady at the front desk was rude. Never again.

Centrally located. Close to restaurants and shopping. Shower was so nice with plenty of hot water. Looks like they have updated several things. Good breakfast. I always use ear plugs when traveling because most places are a bit noisy with guest coming and going. Overall place was quite comfortable

With people soliciting and using weed, creating ruckus, property felt extremely unsafe.

The bathroom was in need of repair in the shower area and the curtain was too short so water got on the floor when showering. There were a lot of homeless people roaming around the property rummaging through the trash and begging. We did not expect to see so many homeless in Redding so the problem was not just with this property. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they were busy every morning cleaning.

This property is old and dated with no frills or special amenities in the room. HOWEVER it is very clean, serves a good breakfast at no charge, is reasonably priced and has a welcoming, friendly and helpful staff..... Best part of this stay was that we were walking distance to Cattleman's Restaurant.

Property is fine.. some rooms have been remodeled and are nice. Homeless activity is on the rise in that area.. but overall nice to stay for a couple of nights.

Keep away front this property, front desk staff is very rude, unprofessional. They provide breakfast but you will never get anything cause they don’t restock or refill. They don’t even anticipate based on their occupancy how much food is needed. For someone who is vegetarian they have nothing except coffee and muffins. During my stay every morning they ran out of breads, when we asked front desk response was “we didn’t anticipate people will eat so much of bread”. Its absolutely not worth the money and ironical to name quality in cause I don’t see any quality in the rooms they have and breakfast they serve. There were many disappointed families like mine who share same experience. I hope people will read all the reviews and make wise decision to find some better place.

Great value for the money. Breakfast is very good. The room felt a bit crammed. There were homeless near the property and there was a squatter in someone's room when we checked in! Overall a good place to stay a night or two with good breakfast.

Great experience! Stayed in BW during our week of travel and this by far beat all of those. Better breakfast, cleanliness and comfort.

No food for breakfast! Time is 6 to 9:30am. We arrived at 9 and there is nothing left! Just some juice! Talk to the staff and eas told that they have no mote food and nothing they can do! Then they don't even talk anymore!

The hotel is a bit rundown, the breakfast was good.
