Windsor California Copacabana

Conveniently located on the Copacabana Beach. Lots of restaurant choices on the beach and a great view of the beach and fun activities. Great roof top swimming pool and views. Highly recommend.

Great location right in front of Copacabana beach. Some areas of the hotel feel a bit dated like the lobby and the room itself which was also facing the inner part of the building and had virtually no natural light. The bed was very comfortable though and the room clean. In contrast, the restaurant area has a much more modern design and here I was served a great breakfast as well as a delicious picanha and and amazing caipirinha for dinner. Pool, gym and sauna can barely be called such but not a big deal for me.

Rummen var väldigt bra för oss som är en familj med tre barn. Vi hade placerats så att vi kunde gå igenom till varandra mellan rummen. Personalen var väldigt trevliga och tillmötesgående. Geografiskt ligger hotellet väldigt bra mitt på Copacabana (Avenida Atlantica). Det har även en fin takterrass med en liten pool och väldigt trevlig restaurangpersonal. Frukosten motsvarade också förväntningarna, och var bra.

Across the copacabana beach! We had a beach view from the window :) Breakfast was good, rooftop was nice for a drink / dessert! Pool is minuscule … Very busy hotel, staff at reception are always busy and there is always a wait but super nice and helpful. They couldn’t provide us with an umbrella when it was pouring outside :(

Já é minha terceira vez no hotel. Ele cumpre bem. Bons quartos, espaçosos. Restaurante no rooftop com ótima vista e localização privilegiada. Como então o segue os mesmos problemas: academia pobre demais, piscina gelada (coloquem um quebra gelo urgente!) e demora pra trazer a comida no restaurante. Outro ponto importante, mas conseguiram resolver: não tem smart tv!! Gente, isso é básico hoje.

The only recommendation is not to stay in room 1412 ( 14th floor) because the pool house is next too and the pump noise is very annoying. All day and all night long.

Definitely get the superior executive room - stunning views of Copacabana, large room. Nice gym with Christ view and pool very quiet on the roof in the morning with great cappucino and coffee from the bar.

I loved my stay here. Because it’s high season, we didn’t get to extend our stay but Mayra and the staff were so helpful. They let us use the hospitality room to wash up after the beach. And they let us keep our luggage for a few hours because our flight was in the evening. The breakfast was super good and the staff were very nice and kind. Jonatan was also very nice, always saying hi and asking us if we needed anything. Everyone in the reception area was helpful. I needed to print something and they helped me with the matter. The room was kept clean and house keeping was great! Overall I think it’s an excellent hotel. I wished the pool was bigger but there’s a beach right across the street so that’s not a problem. I will definitely stay here again and I’m so happy I picked this property. It’s also centered where there’s restaurants and establishments all around. I will suggest to book the breakfast because it was so good and worth it (in my opinion). Honorable mention to Mayra who checked us in and was very helpful and pleasant. Also to Jonatan. Marcos helped us with our luggage and he was nice as well. Stay here for a pleasant experience!

Gostei do hotel. Muito bem localizado ,quarto moderno. Excelente atendimento de front desk. Limpeza a desejar. Todos os dias pedia água de coco para tomar e a moça da faxina não retirava o coco sem água no dia seguinte. Houve dia que o lixo do banheiro não foi retirado. Enfim, limpeza a desejar. Excelente café da manhã.

The hotel was nice and clean. I had a corner room on the second floor, There wasn’t much of a view but it was still nice. I enjoyed drinks at the rooftop pool. The views were beautiful. Especially at night. The pool is very small and I never saw anyone in the pool. I ordered room service one night and was surprised how delicious it was. Breakfast wasn’t too bad. The Location of the hotel is perfect, close to shopping, restaurants and the metro. Staff was courteous and friendly. I would stay here again.

Das Zimmer war sehr schmutzig. In der Dusche klebte der Dreck von den vorherigen Gästen. Das Personal war jedoch freundlich und bemüht.

Rapport qualité prix clairement défavorable. très bruyant et mal insonorisé. Travaux de peinture dès 6h du matin à coté de la chambre odeurs chimiques très désagréables. Climatisation non réglable (panne jamais réglée ?) Froid de canard dans tout l'hôtel. Réfrigérateur qui fait le bruit d'un avion soviétique de 1940. Propreté médiocre (tête de lit avec traces suspectes, moisissure dans la salle de bain, tapis sales) Les plus : le petit dej tres complet, le personnel (mention spéciale à Jonathan jeune serveur au top).

This hotel was amazing. Clean beautiful with wonderful staff. Everything we needed they could assist with. It was right across the street from the beach and they provided beach towels. A remarkable pleasant surprise

Original room was very disappointing and looked dark and grubby. It did not have the seaview, but faced the hotel next door, not per the Expedia photograph. The front desk staff explained that we had not paid for a seaview. Expedia misleading buyers again. They helped us move to another room that was more acceptable. The roof top heated infinity pool is a selling point as is the location to the beach. A short walk to get to the pedestian crossing but there are plenty of small restuarants across the road. The staff were very helpful and should all be commmended. Would recommend if you can book a seaview. Perhaps directly with the hotel.

Great hotel, great location and great breakfast. However, our room has no view at all and there was very big noise every hour from the wall. Sound like water pipes issue. It really bothered me. However, we didn’t complain about it till we checking out cuz we had busy schedule during our stay

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room had a slight smell when checking in and A/C didn't work well. Luckily, it wasn't too hot outside. Location is perfect - directly across from Copacabana beach and all the shops I wanted to visit. Would rate this hotel an 8.5/10 and would stay again!

Overall good experience. But rooms are very loud, you can hear everything, and they’re very strict about who comes in and out.

Although i asked when booking and again at check-in for a quiet room, ghey gave me one beside a very loud machine - without esr plugs it would be imposdible to sleep. Also, too much perfume everywhere. Otherwisefriendly staff and good location

it's right on copacabana beach where everything happens conveniently close to restaurants but the rooms and the hotel itself is so small

Attentive and friendly staff. Good location and beautiful view of Copacabana from the roof top pool / terrace. The food at the hotel's restaurant and the breakfast was very good. I reserved multiple rooms during my stay and noticed inconsistencies among them. Only the room with a view had a coffee machine. The quality of matresses also differed. The rooms do not have hair dryers. The check-in / out area is small and the process is very slow. Allow ample time to check out.

Pictures are a bit misleading… I thought I would have had a balcony… bed and room as good tho

The staff went above and beyond to make me feel like a valued guest. There was always someone around to provide assistance. The room was modern and clean. The buffet breakfast had a lot of delicious options. I would gladly stay at the Windsor California on my next trip to Rio.

Everything about the property was great, but the beat part was the staff! Moera and the front desk were so polite and helpful! The security and bell hops always had a smile and really looked out for us, and the service staff in the restaurants and breakfast buffet were totally exceptional! Thank you for a awesome stay!

Nosso check in foi muito ruim. Chegamos antes, mas sabíamos que deveríamos esperar às 15 hs. Chegamos por volta das 12,15 hs - acomodaram nossas (2 bagagens de mão) e fomos almoçar em local externo. Retornamos às 13,30 hs e continuamos aguardando. Às 15 hs, dirigi-me à mesa de recepção. O quarto não estava pronto e hóspedes (estrangeiros) que chegaram muito depois já tinham os quartos disponíveis muito antes das 15 hs. Aguardamos até às 15:20 hs quando novamente dirigi-me à recepção, até os funcionários que li transitavam perguntavam a mim se ainda não tinha feito nosso check in. Na recepção, com muita má vontade e reclamando no telefone - quem nos atendeu limitou-se a nos fornecer o numero do quarto e um cartão (chave). Não nos solicitou qualquer informação. No dia seguinte, à noite, solicitei outra chave e os funcionários daquele período verificaram que nosso check in tinha sido realizado de forma precária. Lamentável o tratamento concedido no check in. Além do atraso no atendimento e sem qualquer satisfação ou cordialidade. Tratamento notadamente diferenciado a turistas estrangeiros. Pontuo de forma negativa apenas a recepção, especificamente aquele funcionário, porque os da noite atenderam-nos com muita gentileza.

I had accidentally booked a double room for “one person” (for a couple). My girlfriend joined later after initially checking in, but was not allowed into the hotel by the security guard who could not have known of the booking error. After discussing/explaining the situation, I asked to change rooms or upgrade the room to two people given the error I made when booking - the front desk said that under no circumstances would she be allowed to stay at the hotel, as “visitors were not allowed”, I explained the situation again, but the front desk persisted. After we finally spoke to the manager a few hours later after grabbing dinner (as he was unavailable), he insincerely apologized and informed us that, his earlier team was mistaken, that it wasn’t an issue as I had informed him that she was going to be arriving later. We believe the front desk discriminated against us and insinuated that she was a h*****, by not allowing her entry in the hotel. To use the word angry to describe how they made us feel is beyond an understatement. By the time the manager explained the mistake his colleagues made, the damage was done, my partner was beyond upset, and we did not feel safe in this hotel. We ended up staying just next door (somewhere I would actually recommend) What was supposed to be the end to our incredible week in Rio turned into us being treated like filth, and being demeaned by the staff of this property - absolutely disgusting behaviour of the staff. Please do not stay here!!!

The Windsor California hotel in Copacabana is absolutely amazing. The receptionist Mayra Dias was great with communication, helpful with recommendations, professional & warm. The rest of the staff was very respectful & helpful. The breakfast was very good. The hospitality room which I used before I traveled back was exactly what I needed. I'll surely be back here!

From the moment I arrived, the service was excellent. I got in late, but check-in was quick and smooth, and Leo from guest services, kindly helped carry my luggage to the room which was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and alternatives were available on request. Throughout my stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and always greeted me around the hotel. Special shoutout to Ismael from the breakfast team and also Leo, from guest services, both were fantastic and truly made a difference during my stay. The location is perfect, and any queries I had were answered promptly. The hotel also offers currency exchange, which was a convenient bonus. There was a warm, friendly atmosphere at the hotel which made it even more enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again.

My room key never work , I had to make sure I was not over charge , the driver from the hotel for a short drive over charge me the room was always not clean , the stuff not friendly . I do not recommend this hotel specially for USA

I had such a wonderful stay! I was celebrating my birthday, and the hotel went above and beyond to make it special. They let me check in early and even surprised me with a birthday cake in my room. It really made my day unforgettable. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

Windsor California Copacabana was a beautiful hotel, very clean, and the service was great. In a very convenient location as well if you are staying in Rio. Walkable distances to both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, and easy to Uber or taxi wherever you need to go.

Property was amazing! The biggest issue was we got robbed directly outside of the hotel. When we told staff they told us that it happens sometimes which is disheartening despite several security guards. Either than that it was great.

The location is perfect! You’ll be right in the middle of Copacabana beach. Shopping and restaurants are one block away in any direction. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend a room with a balcony. The views of the water are spectacular! Check in and check out are easy and they will accommodate early check in if they have the room. Overall, one of the best hotels on Copacabana Beach!

The property is beach front, so it is very convenient to stay by the beach. Lots of places to eat around the area and lots of grocery stores. Staff were really nice especially in the dining area (our booking included breakfast). Breakfast selections are good, though it was almost the same varieties per day. :) nonetheless, i would stay here again.

Everything you need is walking distance. The vendors are great. You are right on the beach. The beach front restaurants are fun and you are a minute or two from walking to downtown restaurants for more local food. The breakfast was AMAZING and the staff very friendly. My only compaint is the lunch/dinner menu at the hotel. I ate dinner there once and I was not pleased but there are so many other dinner options right there.

This is a beautiful property with a great rooftop in front of the beach, excellent customer service, and restaurants.

The only one that has been the best is Andre in the front who immediately takes care of our luggage from check in/check out. CONS: the night before check out we ordered dessert for room service. My bf is severely allergic to peanuts. We ordered a Chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream for him (JUST LETTING YOU KNOW ON THE DESSERT MENU IT DOES NOT SHOW THAT IT INCLUDES PEANUTS OR ANY KINDS OF NUTS IN THAT DESSERT AT ALL). I ordered it and even told the person taking my order to make sure there’s not NUTS or PEANUTS ANYWHERE since he’s severely allergic to it and has had to go to the hospital since it closes his throat and cant breath. He started eating it and it contained nuts inside the brownie. I called to verify and they said no peanuts and even heard someone in the kitchen say no. Few minutes later they called after my bf finished it and they said.. “DID YOU EAT IT ALREADY? i have someone coming there to pick it up. It said here that it contains peanuts in portuguese..” I immediately went and got all his allergy meds from the luggage to give him and prevent his allergy attack. Thank god i had everything and he didn’t end up having any reactions after. But its so inconsiderate for them to not make sure even after i have asked multiple times. Also to add on to that, they were inconvenient and not let us have a late check out and told us to leave at 12pm when our flight was at 9pm even if i asked the day before and theyve told me they can accomodate. But nope we couldnt.

The breakfast is very good. The location is good too. The food at restaurant is expensive but it is safe and good. The hotel late check out is only one hour and after that they charge big amount if money.
