I was very disappointed in my stay at this hotel because I had switched my booking to this hotel from another because it had a pool . When we arrived they said the pool was closed for maintenance. I asked when it might reopen and was told maybe later that night . So my 7 year son and I kept checking the pool and it never reopened . He was very disappointed because we went to this hotel so he could swim . When we looked at the pool it seemed fine except there was caution tape around two pillars near the pool and a ladder was beside it . So I don’t even know why it was closed . We switched from a cheaper hotel with free parking to this one which was $40 more expensive . We may as well kept our other one because we didn’t get to use the pool and had to pay $60 for parking on top of it .

It was a nice location near the Halifax Harbour (10 minutes walk), close to several great restaurants, Museum, Citadel. Had to pay extra for parking. The garage is safe and secure so that’s ok. Just need to unload before checking in and parking, and then when leaving move car to the front to be able to load when checking out. Also, only 2 elevators for a busy hotel. Takes a while to get a free elevator.

Overall a great stay and a beautiful, big clean room. Only downfall is that the pool was closed for maintenance during our whole stay. Great that it was being maintained, of course. But just disappointing on a weekend getaway where the pool was a big part of planning

Included breakfast is convenient. We stayed during Easter weekend which means a lot of places were closed during this time. Not worrying about where to eat in the morning helped a lot. The gym facility is also complete, I tried the peloton bike there. The pool is unfortunately small and shallow. It was hard to do laps there.

The stay was great, you definitely get what you pay for. Housekeeping, staff service, and the included breakfast were all positive highlights of the stay. The main issue that affected many guests concurrently and was an absolute pain to deal with too many times during our stay is the limited number of elevators (only two) being used to serve the entire hotel. The elevators are too slow and housekeeping staff are done a disservice having to wait double the time guests have to wait to use the same elevators that are completely full every single day, especially during peak check-in hours.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Hampton Inn by Hilton. On the morning of my checkout, I discovered bed bugs in my room. I immediately reported it to the front desk with photos, and they assured me they would follow up with compensation. However, I received no call from them. I called back myself, only to be directed to a manager who was not on duty. Since then, I’ve tried calling the front desk about five times over the past two hours and still haven’t reached anyone. Because of the infestation, I had to throw away my suitcase and bags and have all my clothes professionally dry cleaned, which added unexpected costs to my trip. I’m incredibly frustrated by how poorly this situation has been handled. Having bed bugs in the room is bad enough, but the lack of responsiveness and accountability from the hotel is even more disappointing. I expected much better from a Hilton property.

Others' feedback on the hotel's cleanliness was a major factor to go with the place for me, which is why I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of: 1) one pillow, which had a blood stain the size of a loonie that was visible through the pillow case (I gave it to the housekeeping staff member who happened to be cleaning nearby); 2) mattress cover, which had several stains in the upper-left side; 3) bench in front of the bed, which had dirt; 4) both blinds, which had wine/beverage stains. I reported the first three aspects to Samm, who had checked in with me via text app. an hour after I got my room but there was neither a reply nor corrective action. Less seriously, the toilet seat was cracked on the right side and needs to be replaced and the sink's faucet loose and requires tightening. After my trip, I looked up recent reviews by other travellers, several of whom have also observed similar mess in their respective room. Based on my 5-night stay, the breakfasts varied daily, which was very good.

Bed looked slept in, old raggedy towels, toilet paper like sand paper, moldy shower. The room had a constant noise like being on a airplane or train. Noise from ice machine and bright lights coming from outside parkade. Needed earplugs and sleep mask.

Check in was difficult and staff wasnt pleasant on check in. Other customers at the time were complaining about lack of service and over charges as well. No proper parking to check in and unload when the dock station is busy. Parkade was confusing and room to drive when entering and leaving was nerve racking as its hard to see around sharp corners for on coming traffic. I was charged 7 different HST (most said misc...) from 2 rooms. I wasnt given a parkade sign for my vehicle during check in and in the morning i had a note on my car to move it or be fined. Check out was easier and a more friendlier staff member but couldn't explain all the HST charges properly except saying hotels are different. Room was nice, clean, comfy and inviting. Enjoyed the sleep. Did not like trying to figure out the elevator with the key card. Overall not worth being charged $500 a night per room with shady side motel service. Would not go back again.

Overall the hotel was fine but check in took almost an hour. The hotel was probably understaffed and so rooms weren't available fast enough for everyone, but we waited in line for 30 minutes just to check in at the desk, and then another 15 before a room was ready and received keycards. Hotel staff were kind but not moving quickly at the desk. Room was good and location is great overall

Every day the housekeeping staff left our hotel room door ajar - even after I complained daily about this. Nothing worse then coming back after a long day out and your hotel door is open. Not impressed with how the issue never was resolved after multiple complaints

I asked for a wake up call at 6.00am But did not get one. The room on the second day was not made up nor the towel’s replaced. There was a strong smell of curry on the ground floor. For a Hilton affiliated hotel I was not impressed.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good start to the day. We were in Halifax for both Hal-Con and a Concert. At both the Scotia Bank Center and Convention Center and both were in walking distance.

The location was okay, but didn't find it was too close to a lot of things. Had to walk quite far (hills) to get anywhere, which was not mentioned in the ad. This is of utmost importance for people with mobility issues. Also, there are only 2 elevators which caused a lot of waiting. They did not have a separate elevator for employees either, so this slowed things down even more. This should be looked into.

Excellent location, walking distance to downtown activities. Police station is behind the hotel, so safe. Also behind the hotel is Halifax Defence Citadel, which is very nice. Prepare yourself for walking uphill!!

Parking is not included. It is extra charged $27 per night! Parking is next to the building which is not very well maintained. There was a very bad smell near to the elevator. The worst was the breakfast buffet wich is served in disposable tableware. You have to drink hot coffee in a paper cup, or take your warm food in a paper plate. The forks in disposable wood were useless as forks. We found that they could affort better tableware with the price they charge per night. The only good point it is walkable for activities in downtown.

Our stay recently was overall very good. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good but could use a second waffle maker to speed up the process. The staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.
