Lovely historic inn where I have been for special functions, but not to stay overnight. My room was comfortably appointed, clean and quiet. The stairs getting up to the third floor were challenging, as there is no elevator, but I was offered help with my luggage. Breakfast was basic continental.

We stayed 3 nights. The receptionist Emma was very pleasant and helpful. She explained some of the history and showed us binders of old photos and notes that documented the history of the inn.The inn looks beautiful and the grounds are very pleasing. We had a continental breakfast each morning and were given information about nearby restaurants and attractions. This was a base to explore the area. We stayed on the third floor, which is reached by stairs. The inn was quiet except for the creak of those stairs and we spent pleasant evenings playing cards in the common areas.

We were in town for a nearby event, and booked a room at the charming Springside Inn. We love historical properties, and I could tell right away that this location is beloved by many. They host weddings (my career) and had a bridal shower, a live dinner and dance show, and were preparing for Easter brunch when we checked out. We had a tranquil and private room upstairs with the cutest vintage decor, and a massive soaking bathtub. The view of the terrace and forest behind the building was nice and soothing, and we never heard a peep the whole time we stayed there. You would NEVER know they had any events on the property; they must have fantastic soundproofing. I'm not being sarcastic, we honestly had a silent room. We'd love to come and visit again during the summer to try boating on the lake across the street. We enjoyed and highly recommend.

Classy, tasteful decor. Bed & seating comfortable. Nice view of grounds & a bit of lake. Enjoyed being able to open windows for fresh air. Bathroom too small for comfort, however. Help with luggage offered. Breakfast fine. Too bad the bar was not more available, & that the restaurant was not open.

Very nice old inn with 7 rooms and a nice restaurant and bar. The room was beautiful and very spacious with lots of windows. Close to the lake and to the town of auburn. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant, but we probably would have just eaten the bar food during Happy Hour from 4-6. The nachos, sliders and Brussel sprouts all looked very good.

Old 1800's house in a beautifully manicured setting not too far from the lake. Very quiet. We were met by a young woman who was very welcoming and friendly. We had a nice room with period style decor and a big king size bed (what we generally look for). The air conditioning unit was very quiet which was a nice change from the norm. Fridge and coffee station set up was nice. Overall it was clean except for the wood floors which were very sticky and loud when you walked on them. Don't know if they just cleaned up after a huge juice spill or just not rinsed properly. It was loud enough to disturb someone's sleep. The throw rugs were very dirty as was the couch and chairs. A 90's couch (I have a similar one so I recognize the age) just really dirty and would benefit from a steam cleaning. It's a 7 room inn so that would be possible in the off season. I mean, everything's possible. Overall, the room was pleasant (bed not so comfortable but better than a lot that trip) just needs a deep clean.

Note - this if you are lodging here. It seems it has newer owners who are making an effort to provide a great guest experience. However, the floors need better attention. It was clean but not as clean as I have experienced in other B&B's. The pillows weren't very comfortable. It should also be noted that continental breakfast is that at a bare minimum. But, for the price and the area you are in I don't have an issue with that. Just something to note. The rooms are lovely. I think if they just hit a couple of details it will be an excellent place to stay.

Room and bathroom were very clean. Towels were replenished daily without requesting. Walking distance to owasco lake and park paths. We hosted a baby shower at the inn and it was a perfect choice to stay there as well.

This seems like a great place for a function. The grounds are very nice. If you stay in a standard room, do not expect a lot. I agree with the review that said the windows are filthy. The sheets appeared to be clean, but were stained which wasn't appealing. Maybe it was a Monday, but the service was non existant and do not expect much from the "continental" breakfast. If you put a "do not disturb" sign on the door, don't be surprised if you get a knock at the door with someone offering you towels! The hosts did not introduce themselves when present. Although the man was nice, I can't say the same for the woman.

Nice property and beautiful rooms. However lack of amenities makes it uncomfortable. No bottled water in the room and no one to ask as there is no one at the desk; no coffee. Only 1 bottle of shampoo,nothing else. Very small soaps, and water in the sink just drips. I’ll have to test the shower tomorrow. 2 cheap plastic cups. Tiny bathroom. Can’t even move there. No place in bathroom to place our belongings. We haven’t had their continental breakfast yet. This hotel is NOT EXCELLENT like you advertise. Maybe 3 stars at best.

This property, after speaking to the owner the day we left, is a 150 year old building. It is very nostalgic, with creeky floors/stairs. We actually had a key to the room, not a credit card scanner to enter. The staff was amazing, bringing water/coffee up to the third floor to our room. They don’t “technically” have a bar for serving the guests, but because they had a “special event” going on at the same time, they sent their “bartender” to the bar to serve us!!!! JJ was his name, and he’s a hoot! Very good personality! We loved him! We had a “nightcap drink”, and retired to our room. The rooms aren’t BIG, and ours didn’t even have a microwave or fridge, but they did have furniture close to the timeframe of the building itself. Felt like we were staying in a place from George Washington era. That’s okay too! It was a blast from the past! We liked it.

We loved our stay at Springside Inn! It was clean, the bed was super comfy and the staff was very friendly. The only negative (and this IS NO FAULT to the inn) that I can say is that there was a wedding party downstairs and when people came up the stairs (which were right next to our room) to use the restroom, they were very inconsiderate of the fact that guests were staying there and possibly trying to sleep. They were just very loud.

The building and grounds looked nice. Our stay was disappointing. Staff did not interact with us in any way. Not sure if they were there. There was an event the night we arrived and a wedding party coming in as we left. We felt like awkward guests in someone else's stay. We checked ourselves into our room--no waters, no glasses, no ice, no ice bucket, no fan, no microwave, no mini fridge. The mini split (a/c or heat) did not work. We spent at least 45 minutes trying to get any kind of air moving in the room. The breakfast was not worth mentioning. I believe it's listed as continental but it was really nothing to speak of. And with a restaurant space right there, I thought they might have come up with just a few real food items. I felt nothing but regret for booking a not-cheap room with zero amenities. We should have just stayed at a motel and at least had a glass of water.

I had an incident were a staff member refused to serve me wine. She initially questioned if I was a guest, and when I said I was, she then said the bar was not opened yet. She then said she could but had to take a chair somewhere. I watched her lift the chair & 6 mins later, I was standing still waiting on her to return. I left without the wine.

I wanted to like this place, having had good experiences at bed-and-breakfast type places before, but this place lacked the things that set b&bs apart. The was zero hospitality - no one there to check us in, no one at the desk when we came down in the morning for breakfast. The breakfast was not worth eating. We were in town for a nearby event, and booked a room at the charming Springside Inn. We love historical properties, and I could tell right away that this location is beloved by many. They host weddings (my career) and had a bridal shower, a live dinner and dance show, and were preparing for Easter brunch when we checked out. We had a tranquil and private room upstairs with the cutest vintage decor, and a massive soaking bathtub. The view of the terrace and forest behind the building was nice and soothing, and we never heard a peep the whole time we stayed there. You would NEVER know they had any events on the property; they must have fantastic soundproofing. I'm not being sarcastic, we honestly had a silent room. We'd love to come and visit again during the summer to try boating on the lake across the street. We enjoyed and highly recommend.

Room and bathroom were very clean. Towels were replenished daily without requesting. Walking distance to owasco lake and park paths. We hosted a baby shower at the inn and it was a perfect choice to stay there as well.

This is a nice old inn, across the street from the lake. March is not the ideal time for this lovely venue, but it was on my way to my destination and I enjoyed my time here. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. My large room had a nice view, comfortable bed and nice furnishings and lovely bathroom. Old building and old-fashioned, but still a nice place to visit.

The building and grounds looked nice. Our stay was disappointing. Staff did not interact with us in any way. Not sure if they were there. There was an event the night we arrived and a wedding party coming in as we left. We felt like awkward guests in someone else's stay. We checked ourselves into our room--no waters, no glasses, no ice, no ice bucket, no fan, no microwave, no mini fridge. The mini split (a/c or heat) did not work. We spent at least 45 minutes trying to get any kind of air moving in the room. The breakfast was not worth mentioning. I believe it's listed as continental but it was really nothing to speak of. And with a restaurant space right there, I thought they might have come up with just a few real food items. I felt nothing but regret for booking a not-cheap room with zero amenities. We should have just stayed at a motel and at least had a glass of water.

Lovely historic inn where I have been for special functions, but not to stay overnight. My room was comfortably appointed, clean and quiet. The stairs getting up to the third floor were challenging, as there is no elevator, but I was offered help with my luggage. Breakfast was basic continental.

Everything was great. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was pleasant and clean but furniture was older. I was surprised the breakfast was very minimal. No fruit and the bread products were in individual baggies which felt older and stale.

Very nice old inn with 7 rooms and a nice restaurant and bar. The room was beautiful and very spacious with lots of windows. Close to the lake and to the town of auburn. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant, but we probably would have just eaten the bar food during Happy Hour from 4-6. The nachos, sliders and Brussel sprouts all looked very good.

All was very good and we'd come back again. (The only problem was, no elevator....which we knew about, but our heavy suitcases proved heavier than we thought going up and down stairs...and coming down the stairs watch your head...there's a VERY VERY low section near the end that something should be done about cuz it's way to easy to bang your forehead if you're 5'10" or taller.)

This quaint and beautiful property is a gem. The rooms are clean and appointed in a way to keep with their history. But the bathroom does have a modern shower. Even better, my room had a claw foot tub for a great soak. The real beauty of this property is in the gardens out back just gorgeous.
