I don’t think the club rooms are worth the extra payment .. the food selection and drinks are very limited and no club room had no vibe and a dress code . I would rather not choose a club room and spend the money in the other venues like the Harbour Bar or Sea Lounge

I was looking forward to staying at the Taj mahal palace. We stayed for two nights, and we were disappointed by the quality of the performances. On the one hand, the staff has little regard for customers (except for very wealthy customers). In addition, the wait and the non-chalence of the waiters at breakfast, the air conditioning that works at full capacity and the smell of humidity in our room (Deluxe room) spoiled our stay. I do not recommend this property. A visit to the premises is sufficient.

Maybe 20 years ago? Rooms are super outdated with paint peeling and scuff marks everywhere. Room amenities lacking as they use a very cheap Taj branded product that is subpar. Please for a “5” star hotel use a name brand like Acqua di Parma, Hermes, Molton Brown … can’t get away with cheap alternatives. Common areas looked great and are well maintained however, they forgot to carry that same standard to the rooms. Seemed they were understaffed. Restaurant breakfast buffet is okay but again, not what one would expect. I stayed at the Leela Hotels prior to Taj and hands down 3x better. Visited a colleague at the Four Seasons … seemed I picked the tourist hotel! Oh ….. hallways don’t have AC and on the 6th floor, super hot. Causes fluctuations in moisture between hall and room so there is a distinct smell of mold or musty. Water also runs down the entrance doors to the rooms. Be careful walking down the halls as you can slip.

The carpet was soaking wet and uncomfortable near the window due to rains. The heritage taj palace building needs some water proofing done to prevent further damage to the room flooring.

I Stayed there for 2 nights with family in Taj Palace room no. 477, the bathroom while taking shower was leaking water in whole bathroom floor due to leakage below the partition glass. Had informed the house keeping couple of time but not rectified.

This is a lovely classic and elegant hotel. The service is incredible and I felt pampered. While the hotel is more than 120 years old it is very well maintained. No issue whatsoever

Not the 5 star hotel you expect, check in took 1 1/2 hours, roll not very clean (just look at corners that haven’t been cleaned for weeks). Curtains has cigarettes smoke in them, though it should be non smoking! Butler and floor staff are very good in taking care of you during the stay.

What was unique was the quality of service and the caring attention we received. The hotel is magnificent, spotless with extraordinary attention to detail. The breakfast buffet and the high tea are worth the trip alone. The garden and pool area are spotless, one of the nicest pools I have seen. Being in the garden is a truly awesome experience. A perfect destination, and highly recommended. There is not a better hotel in Mumbai. This was my second visit. Looking forward to returning as soon as I can.

This is a beautiful, historic property, built on the waterfront of Mumbai. The heritage tour is a must-do, to hear about the history of the building. The rooms in the older, palace wing are spacious and tastefully done. The service, like the property, is impeccable.

Possibly my favourite hotel in the world. Full of old world charm and decadence. Delicious bbq in the evenings. Superb customer service. This is my 5th time staying. My room this time was in the well of the hotel stair area. It was quite noisy. Also on the sea view rooms, although a fantastic view. Be prepared for various loud gatherings outside the Gateway to India. Next time I will stay along the corridor away from the GTI. I very much look forward to returning.

Iconic hotel , first five star hotel in India with electricity 100+ year old property. We initially booked executive suite facing city, however that was not so impressive , but then we asked for better room and we were upgraded to grand luxury suite for nominal fee and that was facing gateway of India with balcony and it was very nice and luxurious.

This is an unforgettable experience to stay at the Taj Mahal Palace. It is absolutely beautiful, elegant, extraordinary with its art gallery & art displayed throughout its walking halls, award winning restaurants, pool, shops, and an actual history tour offered free by the hotel(Percy was a wealth of knowledge and class in his explanations bringing it all to life).The rooms are exquisite w/views directly to the sea and Gate. Well worth a stay.

I want to thank all of the employees at this hotel for making this stay for me and my mom a wonderful experience. This is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful location. When we arrived, I was incredibly sick at the airport and the driver, Steven, made sure that I was well taken care of. He called the hotel to let them know I was sick and for them to send a doctor to the room. The doctor checked me and my mom. She is an excellent doctor and she has an office in that hotel so in terms of health, you’re very well taken care of at this hotel. Our only issue was that there is very loud music playing daily at the breakfast area which is where our room was located. We spoke to a manager named Obsheka (I hope I spelled that right). She changed our room and I hope she gets a raise because she was just so kind and warm and welcoming and made me feel like she was my sister. My mom and I think she’s the best. I really want to thank her for giving us a great experience at this hotel and we hope to see her again on our next trip there.

It’s hard to write this review because there is so much to love about the Taj Palace. Starting with the beautiful housekeeping and room service staff—the way my room and stay were cared for was most apparent there. Sony who I did private yoga sessions with, and the young woman who provided Ayurvedic treatments awesome. Nidhee, the Assistant Front Desk Manager, went out of her way to make my stay exceptional. She is absolutely phenomenal and the hotel is lucky to have her. That said, there are too many men in upper management who do not seem to care. Some of this may be timing, some very poor training, but it left a strong impression. Protests began the day I arrived, and by days 2 and 3 the hotel was closing its gates, bringing in more police, and strongly advising I not leave. On day 2, I went to the gym where a male staff member commented that I was “the girl who got the massage yesterday” and then said my room number out loud in front of others. I was stunned. Yes, I had, there had been an issue with the booking. But for a staff member to speak about a guest’s private experience from another department was highly unusual and made me feel very uncomfortable. When I spoke to management they offered to upgrade my room, but between not feeling safe I asked to leave early and be refunded for the 2 nights They said no problem and I left early the next morning. When Expedia contacted Taj for the refund they refused. Really poor customer support and dishonest experience .

There are many luxury hotels to choose from in Mumbai but the Taj Palace Hotel is not only exquisite but also a historic landmark. My stay s in Mumbai always include a night or two at the Taj. Its not to be missed as much as any other landmark in the city.

Wow…..an amazing hotel, with a phenomenal location. Take an early breakfast in the Sea Lounge to view the sunrise. Be there 7am because the few tables are first to be taken. The staff are very attentive to your needs throughout the hotel. There is a tour around the hotel to advise regarding the history. The friendly staff waiting on the rooms are amazing, and attentive to your needs.

Das Taj Mahal Hotel ist einfach nur phantastisch. Der Service und das Bemühen des Personals um das Wohl des Gastes ist großartig. Die Zimmer und das Hotels insgesamt sind sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten von unserem Zimmer einen tollen Blick aufs Meer und das Gateway of India. Das Bauwerk wird zur Zeit saniert und ist durch einen Bauzaun abgesperrt. Unmittelbar daneben sind Bootsanlegestellen von denen Ausflüge gestartet werden können.

Some minor suggestions. They stock deep fried Indian mixture and something similar along with fruits for guests in the room. That is little undesirable. Secondly, Taj should consider to add a restaurant for French cuisines. Breakfast has a heavy leaning in Indian items. Considering the low labor costs, the hotel is very pricy.

The cleaning staff were wonderful leaving rose petals and always there to make it a wonderful stay. We also liked the snacks and fruit in the room. Breakfast was good and the restaurant at the hotel was good. The hotel was beautiful, we loved our stay!

Staying at the Taj is a great experience and I would definitely recommend it. The staff and facilities are incredible. There were a few things though that made the stay less than perfect. The bed was a little too hard for my liking and the dining options were a little too formal. It would have been nice to have a little coffee shop or other place for more informal quick meals or coffee. The 24 hour restaurant was OK for this but was still a little too stuffy and not super convenient for grabbing something to go and it was also quite expensive (~$9 USD for a tiny masala chai to go). I also got a little sick after eating the buffet one evening which made my last couple of days in India less enjoyable. The service and staff at the hotel are incredible though and despite these little things I really enjoyed my stay here.
