Overall really good. The breakfasts were great, the lunch and evening menus did not have much choice but what we had was super. Our room was as expected but so hot, found a portable fan in the wardrobe and had to keep it on day and night. Swimming pools were lovely. I would come again.

Forest apartment was perfect. Had everything we needed and comfortable bed. Had a lovely relaxing time. Outdoor pool was also lovely

Setting and hotel was nice and had character and charm and staff were friendly. However, the rooms were not sound proof by any means and you could hear the people above using the toilet and ever footstep of others on the creaky floorboards and even conversations of other guests in rooms above or below. The gym was terrible, a tiny room which no more than two people could ideally be in at one time and very limited equipment or space to do a good workout. Very disappointing. It also needed a good clean. The gardens and woodland surrounding the property were beautiful and the view was spectacular. The food was nice but expensive.

Let me just say, the place is beautiful and the staff clearly work hard to maintain it. The comments below indicate areas I feel fell short of my expectations for such a place. 1. I just felt the hotel didn’t care about how we were getting on. In the 6 nights we stayed in one of the hotel apartments not once did anyone ask if we needed fresh towels or even if we had any problems. 2. I call this place 10m Posh I.e. outside of 10m it looks great. Within 10m you see the cut corners like cheap apartment furniture, really bad bread for breakfast and having to actually pay £1 for a towel in the indoor pool. 3. The breakfast was nice but not worth the £18 per adult. It just isn’t. Having to book a time for breakfast is also mad, especially for a buffet breakfast I’ve already paid for. 4. The tennis courts are locked all day unless we get a key, and then it’s limited to 7pm. Why? It’s day light to 10pm these days. 5. I suspect the hotel is understaffed and the grounds are taking an uneven number of staff to maintain them at the expense of a quality hotel experience. 6. The hotel bar is shockingly expensive. Ok the views are nice, but £7.50 for a cider? 7. Family evening catering is bad. Very weird menu choices with all sorts of Korean stuff on the menu. A lot of families were staying and I’m fairly sure if they catered for those families in the evening they’d do a lot better. It’s like someone had a bright idea for a menu without actually asking what people like. Thats it!

Fantastic place to stay - short and lovely walking distance to st ives (although a hill coming back). The hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff are always happy to help. Great choice of breakfast and all very tasty and warm. The only small negative I would say is it's a shame theres no sauna/ jacuzzi but they do have an indoor and outdoor pool. Overall its a brilliant and beautiful hotel to stay. Thank you tregenna castle.

Beautiful views, clean rooms, friendly staff. Gym could do with updating. Also maybe having a sauna, steam facilities. Breakfast was good. Nice bar area too. The tennis courts were a great shout with the kids.

Booked a family room and was initially put in a very small room with rickety bunk bed for 11 and 3 year old. Bed for adults was in poor condition with springs sticking out. Cara on reception was fantastic and managed to sort us a bigger family room which didn’t have these problems. Seemed to be a real lack of parity between the family rooms despite it being the same price - as there were even bigger rooms than the one we ended up in. There’s lots for the kids to do. We enjoyed breakfast and the food we had in Olives and Godrevy restaurant but a lot of the facilities are old and a little tired. Especially the rooms and indoor and outdoor pools. This hotel has the potential to be absolutely amazing. Location wise it was perfect.

Very very disappointed…. We had a 3 night stay , and the first room we were given was dam right shameful !! Dirty , worn out , and unpleasant… we complained straight away ( the staff are all fantastic btw ) and lucky we got a different room in a totally different building .. and that was ok tbh …. The rooms in the main hotel are so out of date ..the breakfast was average , indoor pool out of date , outdoor pool is ok , the grounds are stunning and it’s a 10 min walk into st Ives , but until it’s updated , I wouldn’t rush back …

All the staff we spoke to were extremely pleasant and helpful. I think they were embarrassed however that they are clearly short staffed. This meant that a card was in a room saying our rooms would only be serviced every third day. We’re fine not having clean towels for a few days, but having to make our own bed, tidy our bathroom, request daily to have clean cups and glasses was extremely disappointing. It was our summer holiday and supposed to be a relaxing treat. Isn’t that the definition of a hotel?

The room & bathroom was very dated and somewhat tired but very clean. The TV was tiny for the size of the room and the radiator a bit small. The staff were generally very helpful and the food in the restaurant very good, apart from the breakfast which was poor in quality.

Excellent location and views. The hotel is a lovely building set in lovely grounds. Breakfast was great. Service for food very good. Staff helpful. Only grumble was that our room wasn't as clean as would be expected mainly at the higher parts ... the coving had cobwebs and the tops of the curtains had quite lot of dust which you could see falling when you pulled them to close them and open them. And the mattress on the bed wasn't so comfortable. The cleanliness was resolved quickly when we mentioned it to staff. These points didn't spoil our stay.

Yes the room was spotlessly clean and staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful clean fluffy towels and a gorgeous room with the most wonderful view of St Ives. The food and amenities all top quality soi we will be back - thankyou for a lovely stay.

Beautiful grounds and good location, rooms need updating though and cleanliness was just ok. Service however was great, staff very helpful and welcoming.

Property was not as clean as before, the sofas were dirty and very old looking, when moving them we found blood on the floor, so was not impressed with that. Shower room downstairs light only stays on for a couple of minutes, not good when you are showering in the night as you can’t turn it back on as it’s a on a sensor, so having to get out of the shower and move around in the dark is not good.
Property was not as clean as before, the sofas were dirty and very old looking, when moving them we found blood on the floor, so was not impressed with that. The room entry doors would benefit being ‘soft close’ Heard lots of door slamming when other guests were coming and going. We had no heating control in our room some rooms do. The carpet was old and smelt so.

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Very comfortable and spacious room - worth the splurge to get a sea view. Great breakfast. It's about 20 minute walk down steep hill to get to town, so factor that in. Room was warm in late Sept, even with windows open, so wish room had a fan. A mini-fridge would have been a great addition.

The only thing I would comment is the walls are very thin and I heard everything that was going on in the next room. Embarrassing for them!

Hotel, staff and location were excellent. Unfortunately my room wasn’t, above the kitchen next to the extractor fan which didn’t turn off until 10pm and started up at 6am. No bottles of water supplied in the room either.

Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent in the hotel. Also had the Sunday roast and that was lovely. Superb setting and facilities.. indoor and outdoor pool.

A well maintained hotel. Great staff and dining options. Some rooms have amazing views overlooking the harbour of St Ives. The hotel is within walking distance of the town, as long as you don't mind the walk up the hill.

The room was clean but very tiny and the bed was solid it was like sleeping on a concrete block and the pillows were not good and the shower was terrible it took forever to warm up and the pressure was so low

I’ve stayed St Tregenna several times in the last 10 years. Staying in a castle room, in a hotel apartment and this time in a separate one bedroom apartment in a wooden barn type block. It’s a great walk into town through the estate. Check in was a little inconsistent and we weren’t offered a map - the people beside us were. We also weren’t asked if we wanted to add breakfast or told about bar and restaurant opening hours etc, missed opportunities. The apartment was clean - but tired. Great shower pressure but the shower heads could do with taking down and soaking. Plenty of tea and milk in the room which was also great.

All the staff we spoke to were extremely pleasant and helpful. I think they were embarrassed however that they are clearly short staffed. This meant that a card was in a room saying our rooms would only be serviced every third day. We’re fine not having clean towels for a few days, but having to make our own bed, tidy our bathroom, request daily to have clean cups and glasses was extremely disappointing. It was our summer holiday and supposed to be a relaxing treat. Isn’t that the definition of a hotel?

Let me just say, the place is beautiful and the staff clearly work hard to maintain it. The comments below indicate areas I feel fell short of my expectations for such a place. 1. I just felt the hotel didn’t care about how we were getting on. In the 6 nights we stayed in one of the hotel apartments not once did anyone ask if we needed fresh towels or even if we had any problems. 2. I call this place 10m Posh I.e. outside of 10m it looks great. Within 10m you see the cut corners like cheap apartment furniture, really bad bread for breakfast and having to actually pay £1 for a towel in the indoor pool. 3. The breakfast was nice but not worth the £18 per adult. It just isn’t. Having to book a time for breakfast is also mad, especially for a buffet breakfast I’ve already paid for. 4. The tennis courts are locked all day unless we get a key, and then it’s limited to 7pm. Why? It’s day light to 10pm these days. 5. I suspect the hotel is understaffed and the grounds are taking an uneven number of staff to maintain them at the expense of a quality hotel experience. 6. The hotel bar is shockingly expensive. Ok the views are nice, but £7.50 for a cider? 7. Family evening catering is bad. Very weird menu choices with all sorts of Korean stuff on the menu. A lot of families were staying and I’m fairly sure if they catered for those families in the evening they’d do a lot better. It’s like someone had a bright idea for a menu without actually asking what people like. Thats it!

We had the warmest of welcomes. From start to finish. The reception staff heard it was our wedding anniversary and they were so kind in their best wishes. As we needed to leave early, breakfast was sorted for us and Jill organised our freezer packs and chilled gifts to be stored in the appropriate. chiller. The night porters were very obliging , making sure the toaster, hot water were ready for us and getting chiller items. Really attentive. Thank you.

I would strongly advise people to check their reviews before staying here , we were given a room in the main hotel , from the start we had issue with the window not opening , the lady from the reception sent someone and he managed to open it, it was sitting on one hinge barely opening and looking unsafe , the toilet was disgusting, fixtures with mould, one tap broken , no water pressure , the fan extractor wouldn’t work , the door doesn’t have a lock so anyone can come in and out as they please , uncomfortable beds, I had the worst night sleep, overall I would never come here and again or recommend it to anyone . The lady from the reception dismissed me from the first day , on the check out someone else asked us how the stay was and we have told him and she came in the middle of the conversation saying that there is nothing wrong with the room , I have pictures of everything and they still dismissed me, they lack customer service skills

Perfect location for visiting St Ives an easy stroll into the town and there is always the bus back! Stunning views from the hotel over St Ives. Free parking a great bonus in a resort where parking is difficult. Plus friendly helpful staff Would definitely go back.

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Very comfortable and spacious room - worth the splurge to get a sea view. Great breakfast. It's about 20 minute walk down steep hill to get to town, so factor that in. Room was warm in late Sept, even with windows open, so wish room had a fan. A mini-fridge would have been a great addition.

We had a relaxing 5 night stay at Tregenna Castle. Our family room was clean and spacious and in a quiet part of the hotel. The only down side was that it didn't have a view. There are plenty of spaces to sit and relax including a lovely bar area. Breakfast was great and had a good selection. Dinner in the hotel was also good. It's a nice walk down through the woods to the town. The hotel facilities are good too including the pool, tennis courts and a woodland walk. All in all a very relaxing stay for all the family.

The caste grounds are lovely and it's in a great location. NOTE: If you're not fit and mobile, you might find the walk through the gardens when coming back to the castle a challenge as there is a BIG hill to walk up. However, there are benches to pause along the way, and there is a taxi rank in the town also. The signage around the grounds was quite confusing when trying to drive through. A lot of care and attention has been put into the land and it's extremely tranquil and a pleasure to walk around. The interior of the castle is nice, but the rooms are very basic and could do with an upgrade. The beds are small and quite uncomfortable, and the pillows were very thin! We went 25th-28th July and the outside temp was a pleasant 18 degrees, but the rooms were unbearably hot and there was no air con. There was also a duvet on the bed- could have done with a thin blanket. Bathroom was small but done the job, although difficult to flush! The food here was amazing!! Olive bar/restaurant - great portions and really tasty! We didn't eat in the main restaurant to unable to review. The indoor swimming pool is very run down and needs an upgrade, as with the changing rooms/lockers and also the gym. We didn't use the outdoor pool. Overall it was a 'nice' stay, but I think the standard rooms need a BIG upgrade to justify the almost £200 a night that was charged, as in my opinion, I have stayed in more comfortable accommodation for cheaper. The staff were great & were always on hand to help!

The location is both great and awkward at the same time. Great because it is close enough to walk to town without needing to use the car, but awkward for those of us who can't cope so well with the hill climb back to the hotel. It's fine for young/fit/healthy! There are two or three bus numbers which do go up the hill past the hotel entrance, just a couple of stops from the town, which is a lot cheaper than the taxi option. For us, the dining was too 'haute cuisine' for our taste so we went into town to eat, but that's personal taste. However, the breakfast was great (buffet, full English plus many other things). There was no proper lounge to relax in during the evening, but there were sofas and chairs in some other places. The lift only serves the main hotel building, so expect only stairs in the Courtyard rooms, and external apartments. Our particular en-suite had a nasty smell on arrival which we reported. Our short stay unfortunately meant there was no time to use the leisure facilities so can't comment on those. All the staff were pleasant, and the grounds were nice to walk around. Our stay was at the end of April 2025, and parking in town during the mornings was just achievable, but I guess would be almost impossible during high season.

Overall really good. The breakfasts were great, the lunch and evening menus did not have much choice but what we had was super. Our room was as expected but so hot, found a portable fan in the wardrobe and had to keep it on day and night. Swimming pools were lovely. I would come again.

We had a lovely stay at the Tregenna castle resort. We had never been to St. Ives before so were pleased to discover that it was within walking distance of the town and the South West coastal path. It is quite a steep hill up and down but we walk anyway so it wasn’t a problem for us. The staff were all really friendly and made us feel very welcome. We ate at the restaurant every evening and the food was lovely and the portions were very generous. We had breakfast every morning and there was a huge choice of things to have. The gardens were lovely and we enjoyed walking around the sun tropical gardens and the woodland walk. There were other hotel facilities that we could have used while we were staying but we didn’t. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again.

Tregenna castle is excellent in almost every way, with some odd misses. The location is beautiful and walkable to town; the building and grounds are very well maintained; the staff is friendly and professional. The odd misses: breakfast.... The coffee is undrinkable and the espresso bar opens at 10 (?!?!), the bread and sausages are really terrible, there is no variation at all day to day (note that much of the rest of breakfast was ok or good); the self catering cottage we stayed in had a microwave and oven in the "kitchennette" but no cooktop (?!). Would still heartily recommend.

Hotel buildings are superb. Lots of character and available facilities. Room was clean albeit a little tired. Food at the hotel was only a one or two star. Breakfast was really quite poor. Room for improvement in this area.

It’s a nice place tennis, swimming pool, available onsite it’s only a short walk from the beach good views however lunch and dinner are very expensive I mean for a kids meal of fish fingers, chips and peas we were charged £16

The breakfasts were very selective and well cooked but we had a sunday roast and the vegetsbles were very poor and the cabbage was almost raw. The prices are expensive for what is offered and i have enjoyed better for less.

Hotel are in good location, but unfortunately extremely very poor condition. Floor’s and Doors was making noise at all the time I was there to relax for a week and I couldn’t sleep in the morning very noisy. Food, it was not so bad.

Our room was very basic and much too hot one silly little desk fan supplied i also found bed uncomfortable and the bath was too high to climb into to use shower as I'm disabled and have a false hip we were not happy and before our trip we were offered an early check in for an extra 15 pounds when we accepted this we received a message some 5 hours latter saying this was not possible totally unacceptable

The actual resort and grounds were beautiful. It’s in a very good location, within easy walking distance of St Ives and lots of parking available. The restaurant and bar area are nice and staff are lovely. There is a nice outdoor pool, tennis courts and lots of outdoor seating. However..a lot of the hotel interior is very run down and needs updating. The indoor pool was disgusting and felt like you were entering a disused basement boiler room. The floor around the pool was covered in dead flies and doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in years. Our room was very dated, full of dust, the blinds were broken and the bathroom looked like it belongs in a hostel. The cleaners also left our room door open all day while we were out, which was hugely unsettling as anyone could have gone into our room.

The floor around the pool was covered in dead flies and doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in years. Our room was very dated, full of dust, the blinds were broken and the bathroom looked like it belongs in a hostel. The cleaners also left our room door open all day while we were out, which was hugely unsettling as anyone could have gone into our room.
