Decent "business like" hotel in very convenient location. Definitely would not describe it as a luxury hotel: case in point breakfast as pretty sparse, no coffee offered, tried getting a glass of wine at 10pm and was told "I can't leave the desk and my colleague will only come in 1h, so maybe you can get back then?". Mind you bar is literally 5 meters from the check in desk. On the plus side : Hotel room is very clean, bed very comfortable and really close to walking attractions. You can do a lot worse than this hotel, but it's not a luxury lifestyle hotel, it's a good Holiday Inn Express

Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Almost brand new. Location is central to the port and tours. Only downside is getting there or picked up. Arrived on a Sunday evening and it was a zoo and our driver couldn’t get us close. Had to walk with my 81 year old father and two big bags. Staff is wonderful too. There is an elevator and you need a dime during the day but the staff gives you the money.

Overall, hotel property is very nice, clean and excellent welcoming staff. The hotel is within the Gallery building accessed thru an outside alley. Location is short walk to busy shopping district in historic Naples Gallery Umberto and LOTS of great restaurants and local eateries. However, Naples in general and the immediate area surrounding the hotel is very dirty with homeless people everywhere. Not pleasant experience walking to get to the hotel. The entrance to hotel is in a pedestrian only street, so parking and moving from transportation with luggage was challenging. We’re not aware so we’re shocked about the area when we arrived.

Great boutique hotel in the heart of Naples- easy walk to museums and metro on Via Toledo. Comfy beds and fluffy pillows - modern bathroom and luxurious- Entry is via an alley off the Main Street - a nondescript entry so yes you are in the right place- you take either the stairs or small elevator to get to lobby- great staff, nice breakfast and great Italian coffee It’s very close to the iconic Gran Cafe Gambrinus - yes overpriced but fun to sit and people watch.rooms overlook the Galleria Umberto so one might find it a little noisy but I wasn’t bothered, it’s a lively area. If you go to Naples, I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Breakfast was very good, staff was friendly and nice, room was spacious and modern, bathroom was not good because every time we shower it leaks water all over the bathroom floor which we had to clean with bath towels each time we take a shower also bidet was useless because water pressure in it was low and it was placed farther from the toilet, the toilet was outdated as well... access to the property was not great because we had to drag 2 suitcases on cobblestone street to get to it, the lift was old and very small, you need 10 cents for it to work.

El personal del hotel es amable, eficaz e inteligente. Y muy alegre. El desayuno es muy bueno, el salmón ahumado y el brioche, espectaculares. El ascensor que funciona con monedas de 10 céntimos es lo único malo. Nadie tiene monedas y menos de 10 cts. Hemos tenido que bajar las maletas a cuestas por las escaleras esta mañana al salir del hotel (al llegar, nos pagó el portero los 10 cts para subir). Pero es un pequeño detalle que se podría mejorar fácilmente. El resto, todo genial. Hemos estado muy felices y muy bien atendidos. Volveremos. GRACIAS!!

The property itself was fantastic inside; however, it is very hard to find and access and when we arrived the outdoor areas surrounding the hotel were littered with trash due to the Napoli soccer celebration. The actual entrance to the hotel isn’t clearly marked and one has to take a very small elevator up one floor to get to the lobby. For those arriving, please know that you need to pay a small fee with coins to use the elevator. The staff was very kind and helpful once inside and the room was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious.

Nice modern style hotel just outside of the Galleria Umberto. Hotel is in a great location with shopping and transit nearby. The bed linens and towels were all clean with no marks. I did see a few ants in the bathroom but nothing too alarming. The breakfast is boring, but thankfully when I had early tours scheduled they let me grab a few things before 0730 so I wouldn’t starve. All the staff are really nice and helpful. My only issue would be the noise from the street and front desk at night. Even with ear plugs it was hard to sleep due to the traffic on the street Via Toledo and the restaurant directly below my window. The reception area can be loud as well if there’s a phone call or people talking. There was also a strange knocking sound every night around 3am, but I couldn’t tell exactly where it was coming from.

In an ok neighborhood, difficult to find with Libby one level up from the street. Raining a lot when we arrived, and there was an odor like sewer gas coming from the drain in the shower. This seemed to improve after the rain stopped, but I found it disgusting. It was on a tiny side street inaccessible to cars so that we had to drag our luggage about a block and a half over wet cobblestones to get to the cab. Overall nothing special and somewhat sketchy.

Do not recommend staying here. While the location of the hotel is close to the Spanish Quarters, the hotel entrance itself is not well located. It is in an alley that is not well lit for safety for individuals or women in particular accessing it alone. The entrance is not very accessible, including the very small, coin operated elevator which poses a challenge for check-in/out with luggage (hotel provides coin). The room itself was dirty, lots of hair on the floor of the bathroom. For the price and “4 star” rating, it did not meet expectations.

Mooi hotel, uitgebreid ontbijt, enorm vriendelijk personeel, heel goede uitvalsbasis voor bezienswaardigheden, metro en funiculare om de hoek. Kamer goed toegankelijk voor minder valide gast. Als wij een volgende keer in Napels zouden zijn komen we hier zeker terug!

E' un piccolo Hotel nei quartieri spagnoli di Napoli. Praticamente in via Toledo. Occupa un piano di un vecchio edificio ma l'hotel è stato ristrutturato di recente. La finestra della mia camera era affacciata sulla galleria Umberto I. Nonostante cio' perfettamente insonorizzata. Per godere della visita al centro di Napoli e' perfetto. Per la posizione e i servizi forse non è perfetto per una clientela business

In the heart of Naples, next door to Teatro San Carlo. Very large room, spotless and comfortable. A bit noisy Saturday night, but we were facing via Toledo. The AC a bit too cold. Very, very courteous staff. Impressive

Perfect hotel located in the city center. The hotel has modern forniture and we got a beautiful room overlooking the gallery. The only minus is the entrance with an old elevator.

Massive room, very comfortable bed and pillows, modern bathroom with walk-in shower, freshly renovated, good breakfast and perfect central location. Maybe slightly loud outside - well yes, but you are in the middle of Naples, what do you expect? It didn't bother us, because windows closed tightly and blocked most of the street noise.

Couldn't be better. The staff went out of their ways to best help their guests. Carmine and Anna were extremely helpful. They are not only doing daily business but showed they really care about us. Not only did they helped arrange a day tour for us aling the Amalfi coast, make multiple phone calls to work out a delivery problem for me, Carmine also reached out to see if the elder needed anything when being left alone to rest in hotel when I was out. And the rest staff also all tried their best to optimize our experience. I'm truly touched by their dedication. A big THANK YOU!

Very happy about my staying at hotel Matilde. When it comes to service, the staff literally over-peeformed so I want to send them some love to start with ❤️ They chatted with me upon our arrival and booked a restaurant for our visit. When arriving the room, they showed us in and everything was clean, fresh and the bed was really nice. The day after, we needed to catch an early flight so they booked a cab and prepared breakfast. This was far above the expectations so we ate really thankful and happy. Obviously, the hotel was great too, modern och super-central. Highly recommend! Forza Italia greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪

Excellent hotel right in the heart of Naples. Don’t let the entrance fool you. It may be a little hard to find but the hotel gave excellent directions to the small elevator off of Via Toledo, a pedestrian only street, to access the hotel. Once the elevators doors open you will access a chic hotel with superior service, lovely rooms with good soundproofing given all of the activity on the streets just outside. The free breakfast was terrific each morning. Many good restaurants and shopping just a few steps outside. The port is only a 10 minute easy walk to hop on a ferry to Capri.

We had the most amazing experience at Hotel Matilde. Everything was superb, from check in to check out. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is perfect for exploring the Spanish Quarter and is only a 10 minute walk to the historic centre. The hotel itself is stunning, we loved our room and the facilities were superb. The breakfast is amazing, one of the best we ever had. The fresh pastries are wonderful. I can say we appreciated every moment of our stay. The staff restaurant suggestions were also very, very good. The facility once you find it is really nice rooms.and great buffet breakfast they provided. The only hard part is when the taxi drops you off ot is about 50 meters from the hotel and not so easy to find. However once you arrive and get i to the hotel which is in an old historic building it is really nice and the shower was fantastic pressure and hot water. Would stay there again and really close to the ferries ro Capri. Many small restaurants and outdoor bars walking distance from the hotel off of Toledo street.

This is a city property that you can reach after the taxi leaves you about 2 blocks from the hotel. This is why you are in a very special area! Don't fear the short walk because the hotel is a nice, renovated gem inside a 300-year-old building! The restaurants and shopping are everywhere around this hotel! The room is a little oasis with all the comfort you expect! The breakfast is modest but very filling! I recommend this property for its location and comfort!

Very nice business hotel in the Galleria Umberto. Fantastic central location and helpful staff. It's a little difficult to find the entrance and you have to buzz the front desk to get into the building but once you figure it out it's convenient to a taxi stand and central for exploring Naples.

Centrally located property 10-15 mins walk from the port. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room looked onto the stunning Galleria Umberto - in fact window opened onto it - and yet when shut, it was super quiet and we had a great sleep. An easy walk to close dining options.

Perfect location. Rich breakfast. Not crowded peaceful hotel. Areas of improvement : housekeeping should last more than 5 minutes.., weak cleaning.., we stayed 4 nights, bed covers never been changed. Staff in breakfast area is not nice, they were not happy with their jobs. Last day at 7:15 a.m. we kindly asked to have a quick breakfast due to early flight, the answer was "not ready"..! and they didn't give coffee.. In general, they should learn to put "customers" in the middle of everything.

The property itself was fantastic inside; however, it is very hard to find and access and when we arrived the outdoor areas surrounding the hotel were littered with trash due to the Napoli soccer celebration. The actual entrance to the hotel isn’t clearly marked and one has to take a very small elevator up one floor to get to the lobby. For those arriving, please know that you need to pay a small fee with coins to use the elevator. The staff was very kind and helpful once inside and the room was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious.

A truly amazing hotel, large well appointed rooms, immaculately maintained, and very quiet. Excellent location along Via Toledo, in the midst of the chaos which is Napoli. The unusual back alley entrance, dubious staircase and strange elevator only added to the charm of the place. Special thanks to Luigi who made us feel like we were at home. Definitely recommend The Matilde!

We had a great stay of several days at this very cool boutique hotel. The room was so very comfortable and cool and you can tell it was well constructed and is well maintained. Our real only issue? No one explained there is no actual hotel lobby on the ground floor. We wandered , with heavy luggage around and around…finally seeing a small sign on a door way between 2 burgers spots. The elevator…not free and small was “quaint” but also just oddly annoying when tired after a long day of sightseeing. Again, for us, these would be inconsequential if known in advance as we loved the staff, had a great morning breakfast and the staff was so very kind and considerate. We would definitely stay here again, its central location was really perfect and convenient!

Great hotel! The room was spacious, cozy, and well-equipped, with a fantastic view of the beautiful Galleria Umberto.
