Hotel is walking distance to city center. Good size room and clean. Hallways a bit dated, the rest nicely done. Parking is behind the hotel and not covered and took 2 rounds around the block to find it. Mattresses were very hard but everything else in the room was great. The breakfast was included and plentiful and delicious with lots of fresh fruit. The rooftop pool opens only at 10 AM which we found is a bit late. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Property is fairly close to the high street and the fruit market. Room is spacious and clean with good shower and air conditioning. Breakfast is included with the stay, a lot of different choices of pastries and fruit and it’s available until 10:30am. One downside is that there is no parking slot available on site. But hotel staff suggested a few walkable spots to park and one of them was completely free.

Conveniently located to oldtown Funchal and so walkable to the waterfront and some places of interest. However, transportation is required to get around in general. Hotel does not have parking so if you have a rental vehicle there are other options within walking distance. Has a roof top bar which is nice for a night drink and to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast has plenty of options for all.

Great location - super convenient for the centre of Funchal and the old town and not much of a hill to go up to it. All staff fantastic and always smiling, really good breakfast, rooms good size and like the rest of the hotel very clean and tidy, views from the roof top bar/ pool superb - it was a really good choice for us! Couple of minor comments - - the pool was really cold! In fairness it is February but the sea was warmer. - when you get out of the pool the floor becomes really slippery - the is our only real negative as this could be quite dangerous - two us slipped a bit. - the spirits in the bar are a little pricey All in all though we had a great time in Madeira and would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again!

The hotel is clean and modern and the staff are all very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice available. Our room was cleaned every day, the beds were comfortable and there was a kettle with tea and coffee in the room, also a complimentary bottle of wine, and fresh water in the room every day. The bar off the reception area didn’t seem well used but the view from the top floor was great. The pool is small, and the wind pretty strong up there. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the seafront and the city, there are shops nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed for 8 days and had a fantastic time. Breakfast was fresh and had lots of choices to set you up for the day. The property is spotless and the rooms are very spacious. All the staff were amazing especially Pedro on the front desk and Gilda who cleaned our room on a daily basis.

Lovely clean Hotel. Short walk to sea front Very clean room but bed too hard for me but fine my husband Disappointed with the breakfast area. Dirty dishes were left on tables that had been vacated. Nothing was cleared away until there was no where clean to sit. Very surprised because the rest of the Hotel was spotless Staff very friendly and helpful

It's fifteen years since I last visited Madeira, and since the hotels at which I had stayed on previous occasions were full, I opted for this hotel - which didn't exist when I was last here - because it's located a short walk away from Funchal's market (Mercado dos Lavradores), the cable car, the restaurants in the Rua de Santa Maria and Pingo Doce supermarket. The lobby is smart, and the check-in staff (as well as nearly all others) were courteous and welcoming. My air-conditioned room was spacious, well-presented and clean, the bathroom likewise; the bed was comfortable. The hotel's wifi was somewhat slow at times - certainly slower than the mobile data connection on my smartphone to which I had to resort on occasions. A USB socket at the bedside/desk or a wireless charging pad somewhere would have been a welcome feature of this day and age though. Breakfast, whether cooked or continental, was varied and plentiful. The only irritation here was that the fruit juices were unimpressive in quality, while the coffee from the machine was instant, not bean. At a time when so many have coffee machines/makers at home which produce the real thing, this was a serious disappointment. There is a pleasant roof-top bar with seating both inside and out. Service here, however, was not as warm as that experienced at the the reception desk or the restaurant/breakfast room. These things aside, I would be content to stay here again.

Ich hatte einen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel und möchte meine Erfahrungen teilen. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß, modern und wunderschön eingerichtet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die ausgezeichnete Sauberkeit der Zimmer – alles war makellos und ordentlich, was den Aufenthalt im Zimmer sehr angenehm gemacht hat. Leider gibt es auch einige Punkte, die meinen Aufenthalt beeinträchtigt haben. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer zentralen Straße, was zu erheblichem Verkehrslärm führt. Zusätzlich sind die Zimmer recht hellhörig, sodass man den Lärm von außen und teilweise auch aus den Nachbarzimmern deutlich wahrnimmt. Für jemanden, der Ruhe sucht, ist dies definitiv ein Minuspunkt. Der Pool öffnet erst um 10 Uhr, was für Frühaufsteher unpraktisch ist. Zudem wirkt der Pool eher wie ein Kinderbecken und ist für Erwachsene weniger attraktiv. Die Parkplätze am Hotel sind sehr begrenzt und kosten 15 € pro Tag. Die Parkplatzsuche gestaltet sich sehr schwierig, vor allem bei voller Auslastung des Hotels. Positiv hervorzuheben ist jedoch die gute Lage – die Altstadt ist in nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Hotel ist modern und sauber, und das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend und hat alle Wünsche erfüllt. Fazit: Die Sauberkeit und Größe der Zimmer sind hervorragend, aber der Verkehrslärm, die Hellhörigkeit und die schwierige Parkplatzsituation führen dazu, dass ich persönlich das Hotel nicht erneut buchen würde.

Good hotel, much to like including cleanliness, bed comfort, breakfast choices and pleasant staff. Sadly our 4th floor room and balcony was overlooking a very busy road and, with the window open we could smell the traffic fumes. This marred what was a very enjoyable stay. I appreciate that this is not within the control of the hotel. The island might benefit from a review and remediation of its polluting vehicles.

The room was clean, well appointed and very quiet. We were across from the elevator bank and didn’t hear them at all. The location is very good and so was the breakfast. I don’t think I’ve ever had better water pressure in the shower. Our only problem was our room seemed to be in a wifi dead zone. We had good service in the middle of the room but not at either end, including the balcony. The staff did try to rectify it but not much improvement. Would definitely stay again.

Loved everything about the Hotel. Very modern and clean. All the staff were amazing. The Pool and Bar on the Roof was a favourite spot. We had a problem with our Air Conditioner. Once we reported it the staff acted quickly and moved us to another floor.

Lovely balcony with views of the water and Funchal. Breakfast was Ok. Service was good. Room was large but could have used drawers for unpacking if you are staying several nights. Grear location. Nice rooftop bar.

Overall, this is an excellent property. It is approximately a 7 to 10 minute walk from the center of town. It is on a side street, not obvious from the main roads. The rooms are clean. The flooring is all hardwood. The furniture is beautiful. Staff are quite friendly and nice. They have a rooftop pool with a gorgeous view. The overall ambiance and cleanliness is excellent. One side of the hotel faces the street which is not that pleasant. The other side of the hotel has a better view. A word of warning in our room there is sufficient closet space but only one drawer. There was no armoire. We only stayed one night. If you stay much longer and have a lot of clothes, it would be cramped.

Was an amazing stay only gave 4 stars for property because the double bed are two single beds pressed together. They moved around constantly but the saving grace was 2 double duvets. Only thing stoping this being a perfect stay. Breakfast was great, very clean, polite staff. Would deffo recommend to others and stay here again.

So I am a seasoned traveler and had high expectations for the TURIM hotel. I have been to over 27 countries and have never really left a bad review until now. It was ok but not four star, little things, no safe, bad WiFi, have to go to first floor to get pool towel and pool is on 7th floor. Coffee machine made everything taste like hot chocolate not the fantastic Portuguese coffee we had become used too. All of this was little stiff and no big deal. The kicker was the staff at check in and check out. The staff at the bar and pool were awesome, not the folks. downstairs at the lobby. They talked down to my wife and were incredibly condescending and rude at check out. We are not dumb American tourists, we travel a lot and I always treat wait and hotel staff with the utmost respect. I also am multilingual and communicate well. I will never go to another TURIM hotel anywhere in the world and there are ,any other options, many less expensive, in Madeira. Madeira was incredible wish I could say the same for the hotel. Every other hotel we stayed at in Portugal was awesome and the staff was super friendly, TURIM could learn from them.

The hotel is ideally located for the old town and for the town centre. Both are are a comfortable walk. Breakfast is good, although the six hot items could be varied more than they are. A choice of eggs, rather than just scrambled would be good. We did not eat dinner. The rooftop bar and pool present excellent views. More staff are needed to staff the lobby bar properly.

Knowledge, helpful and friendly staff. As two female friends travelling together we felt safe and taken care by all the staff. A hot breakfast was included and it was amazing. When trying to plan a day of sight seeing the staff asked questions about needs and limitations so that we would have the best experience. Everything is in walking distance - cafes, shops, fine and casual dining. There's also a lovely little salon around the corner if you need a quick wash and blow dry or get your nails done. We highly recommend this lovely hotel if you are planning to visit Madeira.

Great location overlooking the heart of Funchal. Welcoming staff. Room was clean and comfortable. We even enjoyed the ambiant music that greated us each time we walked in. Breakfast and dinner were quite tasty and generous with a selection of local fruit and international fare. The roodtop bar and pool had an amazing view and were a great place to relax and enjoy the sunset.

Modern interior design from lobby to room to rooftop bar/restaurant. Short walk to the old town area. Lots of choices for restaurants and supermarket and shopping. When I have to leave at 6am for airport, they even packed me breakfast. Highly recommend if this hotel on a tree lined street.

Great location for a wee break. Short walk from lots of great cafes, restaurants and the water front. The room was spacious, clean, balcony, comfortable beds, nice shower, plenty hot water. Complementary drink at the hotel bar was a nice touch although the hotel draught beer wasn’t the best! Breakfast had lots of lovely fresh fruit, unfortunately not fresh fruit juice but good choice of cooked options, breads, pastries etc. All in all would definitely recommend.

Conveniently located to oldtown Funchal and so walkable to the waterfront and some places of interest. However, transportation is required to get around in general. Hotel does not have parking so if you have a rental vehicle there are other options within walking distance. Has a roof top bar which is nice for a night drink and to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast has plenty of options for all.

It's fifteen years since I last visited Madeira, and since the hotels at which I had stayed on previous occasions were full, I opted for this hotel - which didn't exist when I was last here - because it's located a short walk away from Funchal's market (Mercado dos Lavradores), the cable car, the restaurants in the Rua de Santa Maria and Pingo Doce supermarket. The lobby is smart, and the check-in staff (as well as nearly all others) were courteous and welcoming. My air-conditioned room was spacious, well-presented and clean, the bathroom likewise; the bed was comfortable. The hotel's wifi was somewhat slow at times - certainly slower than the mobile data connection on my smartphone to which I had to resort on occasions. A USB socket at the bedside/desk or a wireless charging pad somewhere would have been a welcome feature of this day and age though. Breakfast, whether cooked or continental, was varied and plentiful. The only irritation here was that the fruit juices were unimpressive in quality, while the coffee from the machine was instant, not bean. At a time when so many have coffee machines/makers at home which produce the real thing, this was a serious disappointment. There is a pleasant roof-top bar with seating both inside and out. Service here, however, was not as warm as that experienced at the the reception desk or the restaurant/breakfast room. These things aside, I would be content to stay here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location and in walking distance of the old and new town. It offers an excellent breakfast with exceptional staff service particularly Rodrigo on reception who was extremely helpful and patient. We had great recommendations for tours as well. Well done to all - just wished the bar stayed open later than 2300 hrs.

Im Groben und Ganzen war das Hotel in Ordnung. Das Zimmer wird jeden Tag gereinigt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war gut. Nur beim Abendessen sollte nachgebessert werden. Es war durchwachsen, manchmal zu stark Fischlastig. Aber das ist ja Geschmacksache.
