Our room was quiet and comfortable. No elevator, must be able to climb stairs to second floor. Staff not very friendly. Breakfast so-so. This property is older. Nice washer/dryer, we were able to do a load of laundry. This is an ok property if you just need a place to stay for a night.

It's a little bit of an older hotel but still very nice and clean. The pool and the hot tub are amazing. Staff is really nice as well.

The wifi was good in our room, althought the sign says the password starts with a capitol "W" it does not, it is a small "w". Room was clean neat and roomy. We had a good breakfast and a very goog stay!

Stay was good.No elevator was the only thing I didn’t expect . Breakfast included but unable to tell about it.

Bay Inn is a great hotel located close to downtown Tawas! Easy access in/out hotel. Was happy to see the pool and hot tub available but was disappointed in the space - no towels out and hot tub was only warm. I’d still visit again and stay there.

Clean room. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Bed was horribly uncomfortable though.

Staff friendly. Breakfast offered but mediocre. Had to get Lysol disinfectant wipes and wipe floors due to dirtiness. Rooms are cool with comfortable beds no bugs!

Overall conditions were OK except the windows on our room and the breakfast were filthy. We could hardly see out our window. Right before leaving I noticed 2 clumps of ants in the bathroom. We were in room 104.

The whole facility was very clean. Office staff was happy, helpfull and informative. Would not hesitate to rebook the business

The lady working when we checked in late at night was friendly and helpful. The men who work behind the desk seemed very much less so. While the staff is overall invisible it's not so in a bad way. They just didn't pester us, which was nice, because we were in town for a funeral and it was a tough weekend. However, there were some issues. Up late at night after the funeral, we were outside at the picnic tables when they turned on the sprinklers, pointed directly at us, and this ruined my husband's phone. This brought three stars down to two. Had they wanted us to go in, they just could have asked. They have every inch of the place on video- it's not like they don't know this is an issue. We're just an older couple struggling with a loss. It wasn't like we were whooping it up. There is a collection aged, broken down equipment stacked in the hallways and steps, which is really kind of itchy. I mean, a LOT of it. Nearly every corner of the building has something broken down sitting in a corner. There are literally no safeguards at the second floor windows (don't put your children on that floor). This was a pet room - don't put your pets there, either. Beds are okay, bring your own pillows. Seriously. Woke to find stains of an unmentionable nature on the walls in the reflection of the sunlight. That grossed me out for the rest of the stay. Wear shoes. For all of this, they are way overpriced on weekend, off season rates. Not even a view. Just a nope. Never again.

The shower curtain smelled sour. The sheets and towels were very clean.

There was no maid service. If you wanted clean towels, you had to bring your dirty towels to the front desk. The beds and pillows were very hard. The bed linens and towels were very worn. I would have expected much more from a hotel charging over $200 per night.

We stayed 6 nights and they dont clean your room till you check out. I said thats ridiculous. The supervisor of house keeping came to our room and cleaned it her self. We really appreciated her for doing this. The guy at the fro t desk said they were shor staffed thats why no cleaning until you check out.

The Bay Inn was exactly what I was looking for. Reasonable rates and a clean quiet room. The desk staff was very efficient. When I checked-in, they immediately confirmed my reservation, told me my room was paid for and no additional information was necessary. I really appreciated this stream lined approach to checking in. The wifi was excellent, easy to connect to and the password was posted in multiple places around the room. This was easily the most moderately priced, comfortable, clean and stress free hotel I have ever stayed in.

Didn’t like the location of the room it was right next to the lobby so it was a little noisy and every time we opened the door you could see into the room other than that it was nice

Beds were squeaky and the toilet ran constantly.

This hotel is in a beautiful spot. Across the street from Lake Huron, and with woods behind us, we had deer out our window in the evening. Our room was clean and spacious, and they’re pet friendly. The staff is friendly, and a nice breakfast is served. There’s nice parks on the lakeshore, and plenty of shopping in town. We definitely would love to come back.

Fast and easy check-in. Room was quiet, clean and nicely decorated.

It was clean. Our room had a large water bubble in the ceiling and one of the bed had very loud broken springs.

we stay at this hotel once a year every year. We bring a dog and stay in one of the pet friendly rooms. The rates are great, the staff is super friendly, and it’s very quiet. The only negative is that the mattresses are super uncomfortable and it’s really hard to get the temperature regulated. We were either super hot or super cold…there was never an in between.. and every move on the mattress resulted in a loud “spring” noise. really those are minor things, considering how clean and nice, this property is. Give it a chance.

I was charged way to much then what i was quoted and he claimed i did not reserve a room. I had my itinerary number and that still didnt make a difference. I will no longer make reservations with them.

Check in was greeted by a very lively person who answered all of our questions! She was extremely a sunshine and positive person to welcome us! She was knowledgeable about the area. This morning she was sunshine again and helpful again!

The staff person at check in throughout our evening was amazing. So helpful and friendly. We could not have asked for anything more. The next morning when supplies were running low at breakfast, as soon as alerted the staff was right there refilling. Everything was clean, in good working order and comfortable.

Room was clean but due to staffing issues, they did not offer any housekeeping services. The pool and hot tub were open and clean. Breakfast options were limited but offered some variety (waffles, cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, and bagels). I will stay here again because my granddaughter loved playing in the pool. Only non-positive point is arrived 90 minutes early before check-in to see if i could check in early and the gentleman sitting behind the desk wasn't very friendly and told me that check-in was at 4PM, not before. So I drove around for awhile and returned at 4 (during shift change) and checked in with a much nicer gentleman.

Didn't budge on checkin time arrive at 2:40 had to come back after 3:00. But, room was large, clean, comfortable.

The hotel is dated, but the front desk staff is superb! The stay was good, quiet and comfortable. Again, the front desk, staff was phenomenal!

The room was nice, pool was nice. The breakfast was not what I expected, very skimpy. When I made the reservation, I had no idea there was no elevator. And I was on the 2nd floor, so I had some difficulty going up and down the stair, using a cane. The guy at the front desk said nope don't have a first floor room I can give you a refund. Very rudely. When I checked in he was not people friendly at all. No eye contact, no hello, nothing.

The person at the desk on Saturday was VERY loud and cursing at night, making it difficult to sleep at night. It was not the guest, but the actual staff being loud. He was on phone swearing ect,,,

Hotel rooms/accomodations are enough for a 1 or 2 night stay tops. Beds & pillows were comfy and it was clean. I found it very disappointing that the hotel doesn't provide or offer conditioner. They have shampoo and body wash. Small complaint but for some, it's a deal. The pool & hot tub area is great, in fact the highlight of our stay! The breakfast was decent, meat & eggs, breads, yogurt and fruit, waffles, juice. My only complaint on this stay was the front desk staff. It was always the gentleman...he wasn't that rude, but would not go out of his way not for one minute to address the concern and question I had and I called on two separate occasions. The lady at the front desk though was fantastic, she works well under pressure! The fitness room was a huge disappointment, it's not a room. It's a closet and that is not an exaggeration. At least it's something though.

Older, but clean place to stay close to the beach and close to restaurants and shopping.

Although the property looks pretty nice from the outside, we didn’t feel like it was clean, and the breakfast was absolutely terrible. It was way below par, in our opinion.

All was fine, room was clean,staff friendly. Fruit options for breakfast would be nice.

We liked that the hotel accommodated our large dog. Otherwise, our stay was just okay. Hotel is showing its age. Breakfast not very good. The only hot entree was waffles. Otherwise cold cereal, yogurt, bagels and muffins. Coffee was instant from a machine, not brewed.
