The quaint roadside lodges were simple, clean and cozy just perfect for a short stop over night on a girls hiking weekend. A little barbecue was available with a box of utensils, perfect for frying up our foraged mushrooms of the day. Adequately stocked bathroom, minimally stocked kitchenette, comfy bed, pretty country views. Recommend to anyone who doesnt need the frills but values cleanliness and comfort.

Perfect spot for overnighting with my sisters. Only suggestion is to do something about that last step. There is nothing to hold onto there and footing is uneven. My sister...in her 80s...took a nasty fall. Scrapes, bruises and sore muscles...Bump to head. Fortunately, nothing broken.

No lift but Matt was kind enough to carry our luggage up to the room. He was also extremely helpful in recommending boat tours and where to find wildlife. The valley where the Inn is located had a large gathering of sulfur crested cockatiels as well as galahs in the trees outside of the Inn. Definitely a bird watcher plus.

The location is great, so close to second valley, rapid bay, deep creek, cape jervois. It was so warm in our room and it had a kitchenette and very up to date. Owner welcomed us also. I recommend this place to anyone.

Set in a beautiful area away from the city, a short drive from the beach. The lodge was very peaceful. The host Matthew was there to greet us and show us to our room. He was very helpful and gave us maps and information about the area. Room was clean and tidy, small bar fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine were available. Very clean ensuite.

Shared a family unit with a family member. Beds very comfy. Noise of fridge cutting in and out in one room was a slight inconvenience. Host was very informative about places to go for dinner and sites to visit close by during daylight hours. Would definitely consider booking again if I get a chance to return to the area.

The location in nice and the rooms were a good size except the bathroom which was tiny and had a trip hazard every time you went in or out the door. The carpet was stained and smelt really bad. There was only one really noisy aircon unit in the bedroom which you couldn't have on at night. There were a couple of column heaters which were totally inadequate. The doona was so thin and there were hardly any blankets, so we were cold all night. Do not recommend staying here.

Aircon in room was noisy (hot night) but on our second night we opened the louvre windows and got good ventilation, which was fine. Seats on balcony was great for enjoying the local birds in the surroundings. Great location for KI ferry, nearby coast or Wirrina.

We were greeted on arrival with a very friendly welcome and some great suggestions on what to do in the area. We stayed in a room in the lodge section which was well equipped, it was clean but a bit dated. Most of the pictures you see for the site are for what seem to be the cottages, which would be a much more elevated experience. Our room was fine for a one night stay to get the ferry to Kangaroo Island the next morning, a very quick drive down the road. We saw our first wild kangaroos since being in Australia, they live in the hills behind the lodge. There is also a variety of birds in the area. You have to drive a bit for dining options for takeout or eat in.

Matt and Liz are most wonderful hosts we have came across . We checked in after hour on our 1st night, Matt and Liz sent a video instruction for a fuss free check in experience with a nice personal touch. This Property is set in a peaceful nature surrounding and in a convenient location, short 15 mins drive to Cape Jervis Ferry terminal, room is very clean and spacious. Matt ad Liz came to our rescue when we nearly got stranded on our second night back from KI island by providing us a room at the last minute notice and kind hearted offered our family some breakfast and a lift to the Ferry terminal. Their recommendation of Aqua Blue for dinner was perfect. Clean, warm rooms and perfectly situated for our mini break. Thank you. 😁

This place was a great stop over for us for our very early ferry over to kangaroo island. Very quiet and beautiful little spot, t perfect for one night. We were lucky there was some noodles in the pantry for our dinner as there was absolutely nothing around when we got in around 5pm. So we were super grateful! Bed was super comfortable and the sound of the mooing cows across the road was so nice. Really connected to nature and the quietness of SA. Lovely spot

Good communication from management about checking in. No where close to get a meal Needed PowerPoints on each side of bed as we both use CPAP machines but this was impossible with one powerboard on one side. Bathroom very basic and slippery to get in and out of shower
