Rydges brand is good, and this airport hotel is new, but it is not a good destination for any tourist, or for a layover as there are no facilties for travellers arriving after 9:30pm for an overnight. The onsite restaurant (dinner and breakfast) is closed for an indefinite period, and the airport bars and food also close at 9:30pm as does the room service option i.e. you cannot get any food or drinks after 9:30pm. If you have an early start, there are no hotel breakfast options before 7:30am. Its clean and modern, staff are friendly, but the lack of options for in house dining are fraustrating.

I guess they were busy over the holiday season - I was surprised that an airport hotel wouldn't have rooms ready and available pretty much around the clock. However, the nice man at the desk did finally manage me a room at 12 noon. I needed to be up at 4 am for my flight and had work to do before I went to bed early. Unfortunately, the room did not have a desk and there is no business center in the hotel - they suggested I could work in the restaurant; nowhere near ideal. Surprised me as one would guess there would be business travelers there frequently. Overall, though, my stay was pleasant enough.

Need to get their advertising sorted. Told a restaurant was closed for the month when in fact it was open in the morning. The other option was confusing for dinner. Closes at 6pm No it actually closed at 9.30pm. Bit of a nuisance. Didnt ruin the stay

Is extremely convenient for flying out early in the morning. Have a very good over- night parking rate - unfortunately i had already booked a Wellington airport park at about 3X the rate! Only complaint was we couldn't get the air conditioning temp to increase and we were a bit cool!

A few issues couldnt be helped and I understand that. The parking situation and just being isolated by the airport - there isn't a lot you can do about that. That should mean, though, pick up the slack elsewhere. The concierge team were unapproachable, I always felt like an inconvenience when approaching them for parking validation. Never saw any of them smile once. When checking out, I wasn't even talked to. Given the lady was on the phone, I can understand she was trying to serve me and the people on the phone. But she just held her hand out for the keycards, no eye contact and no attempt to even say thank you. Highlight was the in-house bar and restaurant. The food was a bit overpriced, but was expected, but didn't take away from how nice it was. All the bar staff and servers had excellent customer service. Always friendly and happy, seemed to enjoy being there, which was great. I was only going to go one night of my stay but the positive interactions convinced me to go a second night. The room was standard but the bed was just two single beds put together so very uncomfortable sleeping experience with a firm, rigid spot where the mattresses met down the literal middle of the bed. Overall, rather disappointing and probably won't be staying again

The hotel is very convenient if you are flying into or out of Wellington Airport. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The phone in the room was filthy - it looked like it had not been cleaned for a very long time ... there was no way I was putting it anywhere near my face!

Very convenient just a couple of feet from the airport. Room was clean but dusty. Told the guy in duty when he couldn't get out TV to work and had to change rooms. Still dusty. He promised to let housekeeping know. But didn't offer to get the room dusted. Hmph

I was not happy at all that there was no internet connection throughout the stay. Was informed at reception that they were working on it. The price was more that when I booked the room. I feel there should be some reimbursement for this as a nig service was not able to be provided.

We stay here for convenience when we get the midnight flight into Wellington. Unfortunately the last 3 times check in was very slow. This time we checked in and found the air conditioning was not working. No one was picking up the phone. I rang using an outside line to no avail. Had to go downstairs to find a staff member. With only 1 or 2 staff working we were still standing in a hallway at 2.15am waiting to be given a room which ended up being on a lower floor. Very exhausting , next time I will get a 15 min taxi ride to a hotel in the city.

I had a 6am international flight , which is why I stayed at this hotel at the airport. Check in 4 am. I asked for a 3 am wake-up call, which never happened. Thankfully I didn’t sleep through the alarm on my phone. This is not good enough for a hotel that charges top $. Also, most people would only stay here because they have early flights to catch, so you’d think they’d be on to it with wake up calls. Staff in the restaurant were really good. Food was average. The bathroom in my room was tired - not very clean in and around the shower. Would I stay here again? Not if I can help it.

Lovely hotel, lovely spacious room. Room service food not nice. Not many menu options and everything shut at 9.30pm. Breakfast buffet v average, if staying again I'd go for continental rather than full buffet as there were lots of options other than watery scrambled eggs.
