Hands down a great choice if you prefer a relaxing, quiet stay. Staff very friendly and reliable, never a hesitation w every request or inquiry. Peter and Missy(?) from the restaurant side were excellent; Jayne from front desk was knowledgeable and attentive. Hotel also allows use of amenities at Oceanica, a sister hotel. Use Xpedia for experiences/adventures though to save.

We had a wonderful time at North Zen villas, we enjoyed that it was quiet and peaceful. Good service, the staff are very nice and helpful. Big and wonderful pool area with sunbeds. Food was very delicious, and the food decoration were amazing. The opportunity to find restaurants in Doljo is poor. But it is easy to grab a TukTuk/tricykle whenever you want to go somewhere else like Alona Beach. Had one massage at the hotel, can highly recommend. Super!! The bambu walk to sunset is very cool and beautiful, and they have a bar out there to. Can highly recommend this hotel// Therese & Anders

The hotel was beautiful although not quite ‘zen’ as the name suggests. The hotel seemed to have a deal with tour groups so there was constant bus loads of tourist groups coming through which turned the bar into a bubbling tourist spot with people pushing and shoving your tables and drinks rather than a relaxing place to enjoy your drink as the sun went down. Seems like the hotel needs to work on their zen vibe. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable beds and a good size. Cleanliness was ok but inconsistent, once our door was left open which was a security risk especially because of the sheer volume of non-guests staying there! Food was mainly good although issues with meat in food despite informing them of vegetarian diets. You have to prebook the breakfast in the morning so they can have the food ready for you but a few times we came in the morning and had to wait over half an hour for our breakfast - no apologies. It was a very inconsistent service! Bar staff at the pool had good consistent customer service. There was one lady at the reception that was always friendly and worked really hard to resolve problems, so we appreciate her help a lot! The manager was also very helpful and accommodating so thank you to her!

PRO: Easy check-in, located on a main road, given a local/tasty drink upon check-in, transportation available for a fee, resto on-location, pool was great, pool area has lots of seats/tables/lounging, very serene environment/ambiance surrounded by nature, staff are polite, resort is well-maintained, free access to mangrove walk, which was serene and a must-go on its own, suites has a well-stocked kitchen utensils and toiletries. Room has safe. CON: Shower has a flawed design - water splashes out and tends to pool around the bathtub/shower area, curtains on windows are somewhat see thru - i went outside to check and i can see inside with curtains down. RECOMMENDED: I still recommend to people tobseeks out peace/quiet/calm environment/ambiance.

숙소 완전 좋아요. 수심 160쯤되는 수영장있고. 애기들 수영장있는데 수영장깨끗하고 구명조끼도 몇개있고, 소독약냄새도 안나요. 앞에 맹그로브숲전망대까지 걸어서 5분쯤 걸리는거같고 10시에 불꺼지면 다리앞쪽가서 별구경하기 좋아요. 빌라로했는데 개미한마리안나오고 빌라내에서도 도마뱀.닭.고양이는 봐도 벌레는 못봤어요. 과일도 레스토랑들고가면 커팅해서 룸으로 가져다줘요. 밥맛없다는 후기들있는데 이만하면 조식뷔페가서 시리얼에 빵먹는것보다 나은것같아요. 잼도 달라고하면 줘요. 친절하고. 툭툭불러달라하면 5분안에 와요. 알로나비치200.돌조비치100 편도비용. 알로나비치보다 돌조비치가서 수영하고 노는게 한적하니 좋아요. 수경이랑 오리발가져가서 산호랑 물고기좀 봤어요. 성게있는데 가시길이 10센치넘는거같아요. 좀 깊은곳에 성게있어서 애기들은 성게걱정없이 놀아도될거같아요. 사실 놀기에는 지리적으로 알로나비치가 좋은데 수용인원이 적은 빌라라 조용하고 한적하게놀기 너무좋았어요. 마트는 픽스라이트로 기념품사러갔었어요. 알로나비치에서 픽스라이트찍고30분 대기하고 노스젠빌라까지 400페소줬어요.

We loved everything about this place. The rooms, location, food, facilities were fantastic. The pool was exceptionally good and well maintained. But the best thing for us was the STAFF. All of them were wonderful and I am sad to leave. I'm sorry I cannot remember all the names. But of the names that I remember from the guys at front of house in the orange shirts are Jane, Azia. Lang, Dars, Mike and (superman) Ralph. Of the security guys in blue I'd like to thank Amor, Lacia, and Eorreon. And the bar and restaurant staff, there were so many of you but of the names I can remember I would like to thank Gian, Jeb Jeb, Peter. You treated us to the freshest and tastiest filipino food at breakfast and at dinner time. I'd also like to thank the lovely gardening lady in green with her big hat, quietly working on the grounds to make them pleasant for all of us. The massage ladies I am grateful for you all too and for your healing hands. As I have said, there are just too many names to remember and I apologise if your name is not in this review. But I want you all to know that you were ALL appreciated by my husband and I. This resort, North Zen Villas, is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. I definitely recommend it and would stay again. Finally, I just want to say: Jane, Azia and Lang, whenever I eat coconut or candy, I will think of you now. I have no choice but to give the NZV 10 out of 10. Thank you SO much for looking after us.

North Zen Villas are super zen and we had some wonderful days there. The pool area is lush and beautiful and the bamboo walk is so cool + really nice sunsets. The food in the resturant is truely amazing (fell in love with the ribs), and the breakfast is GREAT. Nice spacious rooms with a really good view! The staff is great, fun and helpful. Amazing drinks with happy hour from 7am to 7pm. Live music (really good) Fridays and Saturdays. 10 out of 10!

룸2개 빌라에 숙박했습니다. 성인4 아이2 지내기 충분했고 거실과 주방이 있어 편리하게 이용했습니다. 조식도 룸서비스 가능해서 잘 먹었고 전체적인 리조트 느낌도 아기자기하니 좋았습니다. 수영장이 룸과 가까웠고 수질도 괜찮은 편이었고 아주 크진 않았지만 아이들 놀기엔 좋았습니다. 뱀부워크도 좋고 데이유즈를 통해 사우스팜과 오셔니카를 이용할수있는것도 좋았습니다. 다만 시설이 노후되어서..특히 화장실 시설 보수가 필요해 보이는 부분이 있었습니다. 그래도 전반적으로 만족스러운 숙소였습니다.

Le lieu est beau, l’accès au ponton magnifique et le personnel serviable. Les chambres sont confortables et agréables mais mériteraient un effort supplémentaire de nettoyage. La nourriture dans cet hôtel n’est vraiment pas qualitative que ce soit au petit déjeuner ou au restaurant : les propositions sont nombreuses mais les mal cuisinées et pas au niveau attendu sur ce standing d’hôtel.

One big reason we wanted to stay at the resort was for the mangrove walk. Nowhere in their page indicated that the walkway is under construction until October 2022. My last night was not so good as i had to endure multiple insect bites while sleeping. The staff though was very helpful and courteous. Food was ok but menu should include more choices.

We love the rooms and the hotel itself with all the amenities around like the Mangroove, the big nice pool and the restaurant. Services are great, food is not the best for me because mostly are healthy, but for all, it was great!!! Crews were so courteous and they cleaned our room every day. Rooms were clean and smells great. I love this hotel.

Beautiful, clean, relaxing, well-designed resort. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great to have on-site, however, the service was very slow. Even when food was preordered for a certain time, we still had to wait for it for about 45 minutes.

오랜만의 보홀 trip이었는데, 호텔 검색 중 맹그로브 데크길이 너무 예뻐 보여서 무조건 선택해 가 보았습니다. 사진 그대로, 아니 그보다 더 예쁜 길이었고, 룸컨디션, 수영장, 서비스 등 모두 좋았습니다. Alona beach에서는 거리가 좀 있습니다.

Our family of grandparents, parents and grandchildren stayed for 4 nights at North Zen Villas in December 2024. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the grounds are attractive, especially the boardwalk through the mangroves, and the food at the restaurant was good. The staff were uniformly cheerful and helpful.

PRO: Easy check-in, located on a main road, given a local/tasty drink upon check-in, transportation available for a fee, resto on-location, pool was great, pool area has lots of seats/tables/lounging, very serene environment/ambiance surrounded by nature, staff are polite, resort is well-maintained, free access to mangrove walk, which was serene and a must-go on its own, suites has a well-stocked kitchen utensils and toiletries. Room has safe. CON: Shower has a flawed design - water splashes out and tends to pool around the bathtub/shower area, curtains on windows are somewhat see thru - i went outside to check and i can see inside with curtains down. RECOMMENDED: I still recommend to people tobseeks out peace/quiet/calm environment/ambiance.

We loved everything about this place. The rooms, location, food, facilities were fantastic. The pool was exceptionally good and well maintained. But the best thing for us was the STAFF. All of them were wonderful and I am sad to leave. I'm sorry I cannot remember all the names. But of the names that I remember from the guys at front of house in the orange shirts are Jane, Azia. Lang, Dars, Mike and (superman) Ralph. Of the security guys in blue I'd like to thank Amor, Lacia, and Eorreon. And the bar and restaurant staff, there were so many of you but of the names I can remember I would like to thank Gian, Jeb Jeb, Peter. You treated us to the freshest and tastiest filipino food at breakfast and at dinner time. I'd also like to thank the lovely gardening lady in green with her big hat, quietly working on the grounds to make them pleasant for all of us. The massage ladies I am grateful for you all too and for your healing hands. As I have said, there are just too many names to remember and I apologise if your name is not in this review. But I want you all to know that you were ALL appreciated by my husband and I. This resort, North Zen Villas, is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. I definitely recommend it and would stay again. Finally, I just want to say: Jane, Azia and Lang, whenever I eat coconut or candy, I will think of you now. North Zen Villas are super zen and we had some wonderful days there. The pool area is lush and beautiful and the bamboo walk is so cool + really nice sunsets. The food in the resturant is truely amazing (fell in love with the ribs), and the breakfast is GREAT. Nice spacious rooms with a really good view! The staff is great, fun and helpful. Amazing drinks with happy hour from 7am to 7pm. Live music (really good) Fridays and Saturdays. 10 out of 10!

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. The facilities are fantastic and the staff offered excellent service! It’s a bit away from Alona but that is what we wanted. Perfect if you prefer quiet. Would be back for sure.

The hotel was beautiful although not quite ‘zen’ as the name suggests. The hotel seemed to have a deal with tour groups so there was constant bus loads of tourist groups coming through which turned the bar into a bubbling tourist spot with people pushing and shoving your tables and drinks rather than a relaxing place to enjoy your drink as the sun went down. Seems like the hotel needs to work on their zen vibe. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable beds and a good size. Cleanliness was ok but inconsistent, once our door was left open which was a security risk especially because of the sheer volume of non-guests staying there! Food was mainly good although issues with meat in food despite informing them of vegetarian diets. You have to prebook the breakfast in the morning so they can have the food ready for you but a few times we came in the morning and had to wait over half an hour for our breakfast - no apologies. It was a very inconsistent service! Bar staff at the pool had good consistent customer service. There was one lady at the reception that was always friendly and worked really hard to resolve problems, so we appreciate her help a lot! The manager was also very helpful and accommodating so thank you to her!

Resort with a lot of potential but let down by demotivated and untrained staff. While I am not a stiff person, I do not appreciate if staff members greet me with 'hey wassup'. That is just wrong. In addition, the staff has been trained to provide preferential treatment to external guest (paying through a day pass) versus actually staying guest. In one incident, i was asked to leave the restaurant since they expected a group of Koreans to dine in and they prefer to stay among them. So, I had to no choice but to take a tuktuk and eat outside after a 15 min ride. This was pretty ridiculous and after bringing this up to the manager, she simple asked me what she should do now... well, nothing as too late at that point. Overall, we would definitely not stay there again as the shortcomings are just larger than the benefits. For the price they charge, there is a bunch of better options out there in Bohol.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was great and the staff was very helpful. Loved the peaceful and relaxing environment with the ability to get to all the beaches with relative ease. The breakfasts were something we looked forward to every day. We would recommend going there for anyone who ever asked us. 10/10

Absolutely phenomenal!! Staff was amazing from the moment we got there until our departure. Definitely plan to stay again. Only concerns we had (but did not affect our stay): 1) When we got breakfast with 5 ppl vs 4 ppl, one person’s meal was always forgotten and they had to wait an extra 10-15 min to get their food; 2) My family prefers breakfast buffets, but I loved their breakfast menu

The staff was amazing. They really helped us to feel safe and comfortable while lodging there. The food was 10/10 as well. It's a smaller size resort which is nice if you prefer the quiet. I highly recommend staying here. However as for exploring the surrounding area, it did not feel like a very walkable environment outside the resort. You need to set up transportation or rent a motorbike. They have both options at the resort and even the option to rent a tuk tuk instead of your average car. BONUS - Best happy hour in the world !!!

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. The facilities are fantastic and the staff offered excellent service! It’s a bit away from Alona but that is what we wanted. Perfect if you prefer quiet. Would be back for sure.

We had a wonderful time at North Zen villas, we enjoyed that it was quiet and peaceful. Good service, the staff are very nice and helpful. Big and wonderful pool area with sunbeds. Food was very delicious, and the food decoration were amazing. The opportunity to find restaurants in Doljo is poor. But it is easy to grab a TukTuk/tricykle whenever you want to go somewhere else like Alona Beach. Had one massage at the hotel, can highly recommend. Super!! The bambu walk to sunset is very cool and beautiful, and they have a bar out there to. Can highly recommend this hotel// Therese & Anders

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was great and the staff was very helpful. Loved the peaceful and relaxing environment with the ability to get to all the beaches with relative ease. The breakfasts were something we looked forward to every day. We would recommend going there for anyone who ever asked us. 10/10

The staff was amazing. They really helped us to feel safe and comfortable while lodging there. The food was 10/10 as well. It's a smaller size resort which is nice if you prefer the quiet. I highly recommend staying here. However as for exploring the surrounding area, it did not feel like a very walkable environment outside the resort. One big reason we wanted to stay at the resort was for the mangrove walk. Nowhere in their page indicated that the walkway is under construction until October 2022. My last night was not so good as i had to endure multiple insect bites while sleeping. The staff though was very helpful and courteous. Food was ok but menu should include more choices.

The hotel was beautiful although not quite ‘zen’ as the name suggests. The hotel seemed to have a deal with tour groups so there was constant bus loads of tourist groups coming through which turned the bar into a bubbling tourist spot with people pushing and shoving your tables and drinks rather than a relaxing place to enjoy your drink as the sun went down. Seems like the hotel needs to work on their zen vibe. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable beds and a good size. Cleanliness was ok but inconsistent, once our door was left open which was a security risk especially because of the sheer volume of non-guests staying there! Food was mainly good although issues with meat in food despite informing them of vegetarian diets. You have to prebook the breakfast in the morning so they can have the food ready for you but a few times we came in the morning and had to wait over half an hour for our breakfast - no apologies. It was a very inconsistent service! Bar staff at the pool had good consistent customer service. There was one lady at the reception that was always friendly and worked really hard to resolve problems, so we appreciate her help a lot! The manager was also very helpful and accommodating so thank you to her!

All of them were wonderful and I am sad to leave. I'm sorry I cannot remember all the names. But of the names that I remember from the guys at front of house in the orange shirts are Jane, Azia. Lang, Dars, Mike and (superman) Ralph. Of the security guys in blue I'd like to thank Amor, Lacia, and Eorreon. And the bar and restaurant staff, there were so many of you but of the names I can remember I would like to thank Gian, Jeb Jeb, Peter. You treated us to the freshest and tastiest filipino food at breakfast and at dinner time. I'd also like to thank the lovely gardening lady in green with her big hat, quietly working on the grounds to make them pleasant for all of us. The massage ladies I am grateful for you all too and for your healing hands. As I have said, there are just too many names to remember and I apologise if your name is not in this review. But I want you all to know that you were ALL appreciated by my husband and I. This resort, North Zen Villas, is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. I definitely recommend it and would stay again. Finally, I just want to say: Jane, Azia and Lang, whenever I eat coconut or candy, I will think of you now. We love the rooms and the hotel itself with all the amenities around like the Mangroove, the big nice pool and the restaurant. Services are great, food is not the best for me because mostly are healthy, but for all, it was great!!! Crews were so courteous and they cleaned our room every day. Rooms were clean and smells great. I love this hotel.

North Zen Villas are super zen and we had some wonderful days there. The pool area is lush and beautiful and the bamboo walk is so cool + really nice sunsets. The food in the resturant is truely amazing (fell in love with the ribs), and the breakfast is GREAT. Nice spacious rooms with a really good view! The staff is great, fun and helpful. Amazing drinks with happy hour from 7am to 7pm. Live music (really good) Fridays and Saturdays. 10 out of 10!

Absolutely phenomenal!! Staff was amazing from the moment we got there until our departure. Definitely plan to stay again. Only concerns we had (but did not affect our stay): 1) When we got breakfast with 5 ppl vs 4 ppl, one person’s meal was always forgotten and they had to wait an extra 10-15 min to get their food; 2) My family prefers breakfast buffets, but I loved their breakfast menu

Beautiful, clean, relaxing, well-designed resort. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great to have on-site, however, the service was very slow. Even when food was preordered for a certain time, we still had to wait for it for about 45 minutes.

This was my 3rd stay at North Zen Villas and it remains a blissful place to be at. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The resort’s SEADS restaurant covers breakfast, lunch and dinner serving delicious food. The sunset view is spectacular from @ NZV as well. Best place to be in Panglao island.

Third stay this year at NZV. Staff are always approachable and very helpful. Place is so serene and peaceful. A much needed place for respite and meditation. SEADS restaurant offers very tasty and a variety of food. The pool is large and clean. YouTube and Netflix access is readily available in the room. Highly recommended!
