The roof top is a circus. Everyone could go and it’s absolutely chaotic. The swimming pool is very small and crowded. I guess you can’t expect anything else from such a massive hotel. That will my last stay.

The best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had in any country, they offered the widest selection. Location was convenient for walking, right at the end of Gran Via (our longest walk was about 35min to El Retiro Park). Front desk service was standard. Gym had a good variety of cardio and resistance training equipment. Pool hours are limited so we never made it. With so many elevators (6), for whatever reason it takes forever for the elevator cab to come, and even when it did arrive, sometimes it was already full of passengers and you needed to wait all over again. Rooftop bar/lounge area gets busy at night (there was a line to take a picture at the glass floor popout) but you get free roof entry as a hotel guest and it has an amazing view of the city. Central to shopping—Literally sandwiched between a Mango and a Zara downstairs. Would stay here again.

Check in: not very friendly. Rude front desk service. Called about our rooms and the agent couldn’t understand what we asked and rudely hung up the phone. I booked 3 rooms and would have expected better assistance. All 3 rooms were different. One room was upgraded but the other 2 were standard and one was much smaller/less spacious. Decorative pillows look cheap and poor quality. No toiletries. Nothing inside the fridge. Bathroom was not cleaned well. There was a ball of hair in the shower. Breakfast: chaotic, rushed, got up from table to grab coffee and my table was immediately cleaned up with food and juice still at table. Felt like we were in a cruise ship. Not at all what we expected for a 4 star hotel. Seems like this hotel is more focused on the rooftop experience than the client experience. Will not be staying there again and will not recommend it.

Excellent location. Room was small with one very small window but clean. Check in was quick and easy. Staff friendly and helpful. Incredible rooftop bar area with a small glass floor deck and cat walk for interesting photo ops for those brave enough. Breakfast buffet was incredible every thing you could want.

객실도 깨끗했고 조식도 좋았습다 다만 객실 창이 공용 복도랑 공용계단 통로가 보이는 방이었습나. 반대편 공용계단과 복도에서 객실을 내려다볼 수있는구조여서 불편했습니다 . 조망은 당연히 없었고 지내는동안 커텐을계속 치고 있었습니다. 객실방음도 조금아쉬웠습니다. 윗층 침대끄는소리 옆방 문닫는 소리 대화소리등 그외 직원분들은 너무 친절했고 4성급에 걸맞게 객실도 청결했습니다.

O quarto era bom, limpeza boa, cama confortáveis e funcionários atenciosos. Deixaram uma garrafa de agua cortesia por dia. Reservei dois quartos, ambos eles alocaram no 6o andar com vista interna para uma área de serviço. Pedi para trocarem com vista para a rua e como o hotel estava cheio, conseguiram apenas a troca de um quarto com vista para uma rua lateral e não a frente que da para a Plaza Espanha, e ainda consegui, porque muito insisti e passaria meu aniversario nele. Eu não vi em nenhum momento da descrição dos quartos e do hotel que existisse este tipo de quarto com vista limitada (a janela permitia uma pequena abertura vertical e o vidro é translucido), porque costumo fugir deste tipo de hospedagem que me da sensação de caustrofobia. O hotel é enorme e com 25 andares, uma pena não terem conseguido algo melhor para nós. A vista do roof top é espetacular ! 360 graus. Quem está hospedado não precisa pagar e tem acesso sem precisar ficar na fila dos demais, e sim precisa esperar em uma fila para mesa. A movimentação do hotel é intensa, o hotel tem muitos quartos, restaurante e o roof top, então algumas vezes parece caótico. Tem 6 elevadores e fluem até que bem pela quantidade de pessoas circulando. Por segurança, o acesso para os andares é através do cartão do quarto. Sempre tem porteiro e segurança acompanhando toda a movimentação. O hotel é muito bem decorado, os corredores dos quartos são básicos, longos, labirinticos. Café da manha maravilhoso e muito farto.

I stayed 2 nights in this huge hotel. On arrival with a taxi, we had a lot of luggage. Inside the hotel, at the doors 3 members of the staff looked at us. No one came out to help with the luggage but 2 persons opened the doors. We were also told that we were upgraded to a familyroom but that did not happen. The room was so tiny that I could not have my suitcase open and walk to my bed normally. Also when we checked out no one reached out to help with the luggage when we left the hotel. So not the best experience for me.

Expedia accepted a non-refundable payment for the room. When I arrived at 9 pm with my two elderly payments I was told they had no record on file and there were no rooms available. I suspect they refused the Expedia.com booking once they could sell the rooms directly at a higher rate. Then they claimed that they never received any booking. Beware of hotels that will not honor 3rd party bookings. I was left out in the cold at 11 pm with my elderly parents to find another place to stay for the night. This is unacceptable.

The hotel is well situated but the lobby is always busy day and night and they have a weird control issue around the front doors which must mean they have to keep undesirable people out of the hotel. Otherwise it’s great!

No pudimos hospedarnos , nos trataron muy mal , llegué con mi perro de servicio y toda su documentación exigida , nos discriminaron y hasta nos dijeron que si no abandonábamos el lugar nos iban a llamar a la policía , ustedes en las políticas del hotel dicen que aceptan perros de servicio. Mi perro cuenta 100 % con su documentación. Por algo pudimos entrar al país . Pero como se llevaba acabo una feria en la cuidad y estaba una alta demanda hicieron todo para sacarnos del hotel . Mi peor experiencia y discriminación por parte de todo el personal hacia nosotros. Luego me dijeron que ya ellos se habían comunicado con ustedes y les habían echo reembolso . Fue horrible la verdad . MI PEOR EXPERIENCIA DE TANTOS AÑOS DE VIAJE CON USTEDES .

Our biggest regards to Lucas at the front desk who helped change our room as 1st room was located aside all ventilation so was very noisy. Unfortunately not the best overall quality for a hotel with this reputation.

Hotel Riu Plaza Espana is an excellent 1956 built, but modernized recently Madrid hotel. I stayed 4 nights. Hotel has 27 floors, including an exciting 27th floor rooftop bar with the best 360 degree views in all of Madrid. I appreciate that hotel security is provided against people just coming and going by requiring use of room key cards to access elevators. The rooms are pretty sound proof because this was a well-built building. Breakfast was very good with eggs, potatoes, cheeses, meats, breads, yoghurts, pastries, fruit, coffee machines. This hotel is well situated in downtown part of Madrid right on Grand Via, with a subway stop located right at the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel. I loved it.

Uma ótima escolha na melhor localizaçãod e Madri. Passamos duas noites - eu e meu marido - nesse hotel e a experiência foi fantástica. Na realidade, foi uma pena não passar mais tempo e aproveitar tudo que ele oferecia como a piscina, a academia e o terraço panorâmico - estivemos ali para almoçar mas não para tirar fotos. A equipe é muito simpática e extremamente eficiente, o café-da-manhã um espetáculo para aqueles que como eu adoram essa parte da viagem, com um bufê tão grande que literalmente vai ficar faltando tempo e espaço no estômago para aproveitar tudo. O almoço no bistrô no 26º andar foi uma grata experiência com um ótimo custo benefício, o quarto era confortável com uma ducha maravilhosa e um colchão de fazer inveja - aliás, eu até fui anotar o nome da marca do colchão porque quero ter um igual na minha casa. Espero ter a oportunidade de voltar a me hospedar nesse hotel, da próxima vez por mais noites. Ah, e eu preciso me lembrar da gentileza que foi receber um mimo no dia do meu aniversário, sem que eu tivesse avisado. Top class!

Breakfast is plentiful, but very bland. 6 elevators and only one works at a time, due to the amount of people I waited over 13 minute's for an elevator while the other 5 stayed unused. Great location but a bit over priced for the size of the room. Skybar seems a bit chaotic at times. Trying to dine with several people walking through. Very pricing indeed.
