White Pine Lodge

Could be very nice but getting run down. Air of neglect every area. Hot tub out of order, no maid service 2nd day, no secondary lock on room doors. Faint smell in facility, pet urine? Breakfast was good. Staff really nice. I got the impression owners are just trying to squeeze the $$$ out of it and call it good

This was a quiet smaller hotel, with a lobby that is connected to a store and bigger gas station and shares property/ownership with a casino about 200 yards to the east. The beds were comfortable, and the room amenities were standard with fridge and microwave. There is a continental breakfast that consists of juice, bagels, muffins, cereal, instant oatmeal packets, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and waffles. The one extra amenity was a hot tub, that unfortunately was out of service without explanation, during my stay. This hotel was a bit pricier than one would expect for a place like this, and the gas prices of the connected gas station were almost 10% higher than nearly all gas stations in the region, including the small townships with a single gas station in the middle of nowhere. This type of gouging is a huge pet peeve of mine. Luckily there are several large gas stations in town just a couple miles away that are lower. There are lots of souvenir shops, dining options, a grocery store and conveniences in Munising a couple miles away, additionally there is a restaurant w/bar located directly across the road.

Beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a well-stocked convenience store connectted.

The rooms have not been vacuumed around the edges in a very long time. The hot tub was out of order, and the public restrooms were out of order. The beds were comfortable and it was a reasonably priced place to sleep on our way through.

Close to Munising, fair price, large, hot tub, and I won some money at the casino on the free voucher they give you every day!

Budget friendly clean hotel. Staff was kind and gave good recommendations on places to visit. Room was clean and location was safe which are our top priorities! Giant hot tub was a pleasant surprise as well. Would recommend.

I highly recommend this property. Super clean and awesome furniture in the dining area. Staff very friendly and willing to help with anything. Pool/whirlpool area clean and inviting.

We arrived after the hottub had closed. They kept it open an extra 1/2 hour so we could enjoy it.

Very clean rooms. The property is quiet, well maintained. Very close to ORV trails with gas station on property. Very convenient to area attractions.

The room and the entire building smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The bathroom was clean but the carpet looked dirty/old.

The hallways smelled musty but the smell didn't follow into the rooms thankfully. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The beds though felt like sleeping on the floor would have been softer and everytime you moved so did the whole bed. It was an ok place to lay our heads for the night but sleeping was not great

There is a lot to like about White Pine Lodge. It is a good value for the price and I feel like we might consider staying here again. The community hot tub is big. The rooms are decent, with good sized fridges (including a freezer big enough for our ice packs) and beds comfortable enough that no one complained for lack of sleep. The continental breakfast was OK - nothing hot, except for waffles, but there were two waffle makers and decent coffee. The staff were very friendly, especially given how overstretched they all were having to run the gas station and the hotel at the same time. They always let us use the breakfast room to eat dinner or play games and they were extremely kind during our interactions. All that said, it is not a clean place and there really aren’t any amenities beyond the hot tub and continental breakfast. The staff is so overstretched that they can’t really keep up with breakfast - they run out of things and don’t have a chance to come in and replenish. And they definitely don’t have time to clean. On multiple occasions, I felt it necessary to sweep up the breakfast room and wipe down the tables because they hadn’t been cleaned from breakfast. They don’t have enough staff to offer housekeeping during your stay, so things can get pretty dirty in the room. The smoking area is just outside the main entrance, too. Overall, it was cheap and the people were very nice. But very dirty. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Room was refreshingly clean. Parking close to entries. Very friendly registration desk personnel. Breakfast was delicious. Our 2nd time here and we will stay here again.

We liked that there was a microwave in the room. The beds were not comfortable and hallways/steps were dirty.

The area is completely safe, no bugs in the rooms, the staff is immensely friend, but it's not the cleanest place I've ever stayed. It wasn't unsanitary, but the corners of the bathroom floors could stand a mopping, and the rugs could be shampooed.

This hotel was ok not great, not clean. The room was cleaner than the halls, stairs check in area. Please remove the carpet in the rooms it was filthy.

Although the hotel was full, it had a very unpleasant smell which only worsened when we opened the door to our room. The bathroom floor was dirty and had a dead bug on it. The room air conditioner did not work. A few of the towels were dirty. The stairway was in need of being swept. I talked to the front desk who told me the manager would be in at midnight and would call me. I received no call.

Great place to stay. It's slightly outdated but was very clean and comfortable. Check in was a breeze and the girl at the desk was incredibly sweet and helpful. They are next to the casino and a gas station and the convenience store is just past the desk offering late night hours for any needs. The location was great just about 5min from Munising. If you plan to go out to eat though, don't wait too long. Most restaurants in the area closed by 8 or 9pm nothing against the hotel just something to keep in mind. We would 100% stay here again!

PROS: Rooms are clean. Staff: pleasant, courteous,friendly.Rooms were clean. CONS: Older spring matresses were very uncomfortable. Woke up with sore back. Motel had water issues so many ameneties were out of order. Not the properties fault, just disappointing. Rooms could use updates.

Hot tub clearly has black mold in it. Felt very grimy. Breakfast was good. The walls are incredibly thin.

Nice property overall. Slight smell in room. Wifi is weak, good for surfing internet though.

The hotel seemed old but fairly well kept up. There were a few minor problems such as a leaky toilet and spotty WiFi. The people were friendly and helpful. Breeds were a bit soft but tolerable. Breakfast was nothing special. 2 waffle makers but no meat, only prepackaged hard boiled eggs. I would come back as they were priced reasonably.

Room's were clean and nice Staff was very helpful when we need questions answered or clean towels or just to say Hello.

Old building, directly attached to gas station convenience store. Unfriendly staff. Requested an early check in, they had plenty of vancancy with only 5 cars in the parking lot. Requested to check in at 1p instead of 3p and the staff was appalled by our request and denied our request. Would not recommend. If we return to area, we will end up giving our money to a big name brand like holiday inn or comfort inn despite a few extra bucks per night cost. Wanted to support small business and was wholeheartedly underwhelmed and dissappointed.

Rooms were clean. Nice hotel. Staff was Adamant and rude to guests about not being able to Check in a few minutes early.

The front desk lady was unwelcoming. It was pouring rain outside and she didn't care. I know the checking is 3:00 pm and there was no car in the parking lot and I'm sure the room was ready and available. Most of the hotels we stayed in were very accomodating and super friendly and kind.

No one at the front desk ... they were helping people in the convenience store. Each time I had to go to the front desk for something (including check-in and out, I had to go to the convenience store side and ask someone to help me.

Everything was quite good. Everyone was so professional and helpful.

This hotel was wonderful. Check in was so easy, lots of parking, so close to Munising we could easily pop in and out of town. Short drive to pictured rocks park. Big, clean room. Breakfast was standard continental breakfast, but so nice to have to start the day. 10/10 would stay again and recommend!

The staff was so personable and accommodating. We arrived much later than we wanted to and they allowed us to use the spa after hours and were there to answer any question we had about the area or whatever we needed. Probably the friendliest staff I have ever met. We loved our stay!

Clean, quiet motel within walking distance of a couple of restaurants, and super close to Munising and Pictured Rocks. We stayed Sunday - Tuesday so we may have hit a particularly quiet stretch. The breakfast provided was super convenient and there were plenty of options.

Great location, friendly staff, breakfast & huge hot tub

We found the the lodge to be perfectly serviceable for our needs. It has older rooms that were in a good state of upkeep. The breakfast is advertised as "continental" but it is a bit more with a waffle makers, although one of the two waffle makers was broken. It is located next to a small casino which is a plus or minus depending on your perspective.

We had a pleasant stay for one night. The room is clean and quiet. The breakfast is OK with mostly carbon hydrates.,

Breakfast was great, wish there was yogurt. We had cereal and bagels. Bed was comfortable, all good!

The rooms were modest but comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was passé. Could be better. But overall I would highly recommend it! There is a nice restaurant across the street called "Foggy's Steakhouse & Lounge" which has very good pizza!

There was a bad odor in the hotel and our room. Breakfast was bad, only waffles and cereal. No protein for those of us kayakers and hikers! Ran out of coffee
