DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Karaka

First they said our credit card had declined which was an error when they retried and re entered the number it worked then we asked to use the ev charger they said they would get it going then phone to say it was not working and someone would look at it tomorrow we went down to talk to them and they said they had reported the error, they then phoned our room at 10:40 p.m. and woke us up to say it was now working

Very clean and great staff! Had the breakfast buffet every day and the food was fantastic. Parking lot was full so had to park at the 2 hour spaces every night (with permission).

Great service / staff and clean, modern accommodation. Good pool and gym facilities as well.

Excellent modern comfortable hotel to stay at. Great swimming pool area & great hotel grounds. Nice high quality restaurant. Biggest problem was dealing with Hotels.com when I made a booking error. The Hilton Hotel was very helpful trying to assist sorting it out but Hotels.com was quite obtuse. Absolutely recommend this hotel.

Absolutely outstanding - the warm cookies on arrival at reception was very unexpected as were the welcome texts from the duty manager asking if the room was okay. It was very okay. A great hotel with friendly helpful staff, and a superb pool and fitness area.

Great service, the staff really make & made a difference to my stay. There was a power cut beyond the hotels control but I felt they handled it with a personal touch to make guests feel safe & comfortable. I enjoyed the outdoor pool also & easy hassle free parkin on site.

The staff were very proactive and polite. The room was very clean. The hotel had great amenities, including the pool.

The property is great and the staffs are friendly. However when we checked into our room, we found out the bed sheets were not changed, it has human hairs from previous guest. The staff quickly remake the bed, but we feel the manager should take the initiative to apologize and provide reassuring compensation.

L’hôtel est très chouette et bien situé. La chambre est au calme et très bien insonorisée. Le seul bémol est que le distributeur de shampoing et de savon pour les mains étaient vides et aucune explication pour téléphoner à la réception afin d’être dépannée.

Close to SH1, in own grounds. Services walking distance. Excellent 2 queen bed room. Beds very comfy with 4 good pillows each. Triple glazed so almost soundproof. Good rain shower. Very good full breakfast (extra $). Only downside the safe didn’t work.

Very comfortable and well appointed. No cellular phone reception in the rooms which was odd and the WiFi wasn't great. Otherwise very nice and would recommend.

I expected a lot from this hotel given it is a 'Hilton', but I was disappointed because of the following: 1. I could not control the heat in my room - I've never come across centrally-controlled heat before that can't be increased unless Reception does it - even then this did not happen immediately and the staff member seemed reluctant to help me. I 2. The door on the shower does not close properly and flooded across the floor - both a nuisance and dangerous. 3. The plastic jug for heating water is dangerous - it leaks water from the top and lets steam through when being poured. 4. The fridge is very inadequate - there are two shelves that are too closely spaced to fit anything really and you can't even stand a wine bottle up in it. Like the electric jug, why skimp on this? 5. All 3 seating options in the room were uncomfortable - an ottoman-type seat which had a hard back, a wooden chair with an inadequate cushion and a round-backed lounge-type chair that was also uncomfortable. 6. I ordered room service dinner and placed the tray on the floor outside my room as is the usual practice as far as In know. The tray was still there in the morning and the corridor smelled of French fries. 7. There was no information supplied about the room except via the TV if you could figure out how to find it. 8. No "Do not disturb" door sign The bed was good although not remade well. I did feel 'safe' as a woman travelling alone but I'm not sure that this would be enough for me to rebook.

Staff was very professional, courteous, and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

I am very disappointed with the customer services. I paid hotel and breakfast package yet due to limited dining options we were not able to have breakfast, yet we were charged for the services and spoken rudely by male manager working on counter on 18th November 2023.

Confused around communication and no one able to answer the phones any time of day. I ended up needing to request the manager as stuff would place me on hold and then the phone call would get sent back to main lines Very hard to get hold of someone that I could speak to be it knowing how to answer my questions or being able to speak English properly. Eg spelling my name wrong a few times. Need to look into your communication and phone educate- will no be recommending booking through a third party for this hotel.

It is a quiet area in Papakura. Easy access to highway.. 15 min drive from Rainbow End.

Good location near airport , everything was perfect

So easy if you are heading to south of Auckland! We got off at Auckland Airport and drove 20 minutes on an evening flight. Great to be out of the city, and on our away. The double tree is perfect - clean, rooms up to date and setting lovely with a pool as well. Highly recommend!

What a great place to stay. New and modern, super comfortable and more importantly, quiet. The check in process was smooth and i loved the warm cookie handed over. Staff are attentive, even sending text to make sure everything is going well. I was really impressed and will be back stay. Easy access to the motorway.

Wonderful spot very quiet and immaculate facilities. No shops and limited restaurants but the in-house restaurant is very good.

Lovely hotel in a good location, lots of food options around the area and a good spot to stay if off to the airport the next day.

We were very happy with our stay and will definitely return. Reception staff was helpful and professional. It was a nice touch that at check-in, we were welcome with a freshly baked cookie/biscuit to take to our room. The food and service at the hotel restaurant Ethereal was excellent.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. We were part of a large family group staying for a couple of nights around NYE and the bar/restaurant staff were very patient and accommodating especially with the more demanding members of our party. Rooms are new and clean with wireless charging facility in rooms. The pool is heated and suitable for families with plenty of poolside towels and chairs/space to relax. There’s a well equipped gym next to the pools. Room service is quick and front house staff are very kind. Josephine makes excellent coffees and the gentleman minding the restaurant walk-in delivers exceptional service. The restaurant menu while offering great food, was a bit limited for a stay of few nights. Extended brunch menu may also prove popular amongst guests and locals. But one can always head across the road or Uber if they have worked their way through the restaurant menu. However this becomes challenging if staying across stat holiday periods where most offsite restaurants are closed. Overall we would definitely recommend staying here and commend the team on exceptional service standards!
