The location was convenient for my travel plans. The owner was attentive. I didn't like the fact that an outside door would not lock and when I reported it to the manager, his response gave me the impression it had been that way for some time / there was little concern. I know this is a small town in a rural area, but I think safety needs to be given more concern.

Very nice stay! The hotel has recently been renovated so everything is in great condition. No carpeting in the rooms which I think is great. Everything was very clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Two negatives include no elevator in case you have problems with stairs and no hot food fir breakfast other than coffee. That is actually fine for me but does not suit my husband.

The hotel has been completely remodeled and it looks great! We stayed for several days and our housekeeper (Paris) took great care of us and our room! She was fantastic! (We were traveling from Iowa and stayed in room 110!)We highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

Very noisy, barely slept at all. Could hear neighbors in rooms, people in hallway all night, ice maker and inside and outside doors banging. Breakfast was frozen mini muffins, fruit, and packets of instant oatmeal. Housekeeping was mopping with filthy water. Sheets and towels were very dingy.

Bathroom sink light would not stay on kept blinking. The old coffee bag in the coffee make still had a used bag in it. But overall the room was very clean. Good service and nice staff. I will be going there again. Good pricing too.

Everything was 5 stars .... Except a small thing that I will mention. The bathroom vanity mirror light continuously flashed. It never came on and the light switches did nothing. By the time I discovered it I had already unpacked. Pro tip examine your room every time before you do anything. I was exhausted and just went to sleep but the only other light in the bathroom w pretty weak so the bathroom was always on the dark side. I was exhausted and slept well and nothing else was an issue.

Room was surprisingly nice- tiled floor instead of carpet, new firm mattress, and very clean. Front desk receptionist was lovely. Breakfast was very small, but coffee and muffin was good! A great spot in a small town.

I love pam at the front desk. I have stayed here so many times and my mom and dad di as well when they come into town! The new owner in my opinion is not very nice. He is judgemental! I wish there was another place to stay in independence! Myself my mom and dad will not be staying here again. The side door to the hotel you do not have to use you key card ( unsafe) the grounds have beer bottles that seem to never get cleaned up.

The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful! We felt so welcomed and cared for. The room was spotless, and the king bed was the most comfortable of the last 4 places weve stayed on this roadtrip. Breakfast was nice, if basic...bagels, muffins, cereal, ceral bars and yoghurt, with lots of coffee and juice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and higjly recommend it!!!

The rooms were clean. This is the good news. However, management did not pay any attention to what was booked and could have put my team members in danger. Four rooms were booked. Two of my team members were given keys to rooms where there were people inside. They went inside the rooms and saw the rooms were occupied. Thankfully, they were able to leave the rooms without any altercation. Also, all four rooms that were booked were king bed suites. The two rooms where my team members walked in on others were double queens. The hotel is convenient to where they work. However, two of my team members were not happy when given keys to occupied QQ rooms before receiving their appropriate booking. We are going to spend more money and stay elsewhere the next time we work in Independence, VA.

This hotel is situated nicely on a quiet hill. The hotel is newly renovated and extremely clean. I have stayed here twice and the staff is accommodating. Independence is a small town with a few restaurants which are mostly closed on Sunday. There is a nice grocery store and a dollar store walking distance from the hotel. I stay here when I visit my children that are currently attending Oak Hill Academy. It is about a 15-20 minute drive up to the School from the hotel.

Close to the AT, so used this as a spot to refuel and refresh. Accommodations were nice, suite with a sofa and chair was perfect for our needs. Next to a food store. Closest laundromat is in Galax, about 15-20 minute drive.

Great stay. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Quiet and comfortable. The only thing lacking is breakfast- but they do have bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, and OJ if that works for you. It was a nice place with a great rate so I wouldn’t let the level of breakfast stop me from staying there though!
