Lambuth Inn

When I booked I asked for the view in the room, they said every trim overlooked the lake, upon check in my room was humid, dated, it had a musty smell and the window faced a wall… they did quickly fixed it and moved me to a much nicer room with no extra charge. The staff was very nice and friendly. I didn’t like that you had to drive to the pool and to the restaurant. The property could use some TLC

The view, and the grounds are amazing. But you have to drive to the pool it is on the other side of the lake. They should inform you this as it is misleading to say they have a pool. The bed is a little hard But ample pillows and towels were a plus. The landscaping is very well done. There was no dining option. Front Desk person was uninformed and sent me to a restaurant that was closed on the 4th of July. I asked a staff a question and they spoke no English. But overall, this is a nice place.

Love the lobby / common spaces. This is one of the "Grand Old Hotels" that we like to stay in when we get the chance. Took my laptop down at night to sit there and work, instead of in the room. Only nit is that our room was small-ish (I believe it was the last one available), and the giant rooftop AC unit outside our window was very noisy. However, we have come to expect such issues in older hotels.

Beautiful old converted building with amazing structural characteristics. Lobby is decorated beautifully and there’s a cute gift shop. Lake is right outside your front door and there’s a great walking areas. Room was nice & comfortable. Beautiful Mountain Views

Beautiful property at a very scenic place.

We loved our stay at this charming historic inn. From quaint, quiet “parlors” to large, rocking-chair filled porches with a beautiful mountain lake view, it was a wonderful, peaceful week of relaxation.

Great check in and love the front desk clerk. Room was clean. Parking is less than ideal and there was loud music blaring from an adjacent property all day. Bed was comfortable but pillows were mushy. Nothing really to grip about just not my cup of tea. Have family in Canton and will stay again. Overall worth every penny and if they do some upgrading could be even better. Recommend without hesitation.

Booking was for a center Economy room that ended up with a view of air conditioner units; single bathroom light was on a 15 minute timer that had to constantly be reset. Very basic but affordable. Now that I understand the property layout, would try to be more specific on room location/choice.

Awesome stay! I do wish that the trolley had started running at the beginning of the weekend (it was Memorial Day weekend and the pool opened Saturday but no trolley until Sunday). Everything was great with the room. The only complaint is that the beds are not incredibly comfortable but would not keep us from returning. Looking forward to our next trip!

The location is great. The rooms were no frills. Basic room, no fridge, small coffee maker, TV. Small room, very bland and basic. Kind of reminded me of summer camp dorm rooms. They have an amazing view from the outside balcony area. They have rocking chairs to chill and enjoy. The staff was friendly. It was basic but worth the price. To find a clean room. good,safe location with those views for under a hundred, it was worth it.

Property needs to be updated room by room. Smells like an old property. Not the worst place to stay but needs to be updated and cleaned inside and out.

The room was clean, the people were so nice and welcoming, THE VIEWWWW, perfect gateway, the breakfast YUMMMMM. If you are planning a visit, DONT WAIT. Thank you everyone, we enjoyed our star and looking forward the next one :)

Upon checkin, the front desk did not know basic facts about nearby restaurants, pickleball rentals, hours, etc. When we requested a higher floor room, they said they were all not yet cleaned and refused to accommodate our request. The hotel and grounds needed a good overall cleaning…cobwebs abound on and around all outdoor fixtues, fences, entryways, chairs. Inside, it seems new carpeting was installed over the lumps and bumps of the subflooring creating a stumbling hazard. Housekeeping did not touch our room for the three-night stay although the front desk did supply towels and soap that we requested. The front lobby only had coffee until 9 am and they ran out of half-n-half for two of the three days forcing us to BUY coffee elsewhere. Pathetic! It has the potential of being a five-star hotel, but has missed the mark this time….I don’t know if we will consider staying here in the future based on how many things need improvement for the price they charge.

Excellent. Very clean and comfortable

Hotel is old and unappealing. There was no signage and we were unsure we were even at the right place. Front desk clerk has the energy of a rotten tomatoe...Our room,upon entering, was freezing and took nearly 3hrs to warm up (Temp was in the 30s outside). Appears riom hasnt been used in days. Phone was unplugged and bedside light was flickering off and on. Following cord, it was plugged right behind the head of the mattress. It was plugged into a three way that was plugged into the socket. The pressure from the mattress was bending the cord and making it flicker. FIRE HARAZD. Tv was a 32 plasma tv and for 155 a night was thoroughly pissed off. Decor was old, cobb webbs and dead spiders in the window sill and floor. Room is small and i dint know who gave this place good ratings? Must be them old heads of the staff. Either was, this place was depressing.

The resort was spotless in every area. This takes alot of work and pride in keeping it that clean. Only issue we had was shower did not drain well and they fixed it immediatley.

The hotel needs to be updated but the outside is gorgeous! And it was clean in our room. The pillows were very uncomfortable but again the room was clean. Checking in and out was simple. I also want to add it is a Christian based hotel. I didn’t know that when I booked.

We were very disappointed with with the accommodations at the Lambeth Inn. This was a weekend getaway for my 2 sisters and myself. 1. When we entered our room--#334--, we found 2 used wash cloths in our bathroom. One was hung on the bathroom door and the other hanging over the shower rod. As we left our room for the evening, we told the desk clerk and suggested that our room be checked for cleaning. Her only comment was "I am sorry." 2. When we tried to call the desk, the phone didn't work. We went to the desk and reported this. A mantainence lady came and discovered the phone line was plugged back into the phone not in the wall. 3. There is mold on the table legs. 4. There was a stain on the wall where it appeared coffee had run down the wall from the table all the way to the floor. 5. There was no lamp on the table. The only lighting was on the wall between the 2 beds, which made the rest of the room quite dark. We found a lamp in the opened house keeping room two doors from ours, so we took it to our room. 6.We had to ask twice for more clean wash cloths on Saturday. We had put our dirty ones in the hall on Saturday morning, as instructed. I am 70 years old and have stayed at Lake Junaluska many times at different locations, but I have never been greeted with such poor conditions as these. If it had been our first trip, we would not return! Our stay was from Friday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The hotel condition was fine. The room was and bathroom was small. My biggest complaint was there were NO outlets for use in the room that weren’t in use or that we were able to get to. It made recharging inconvenient ( had to plug use an outlet in the bathroom) and since there was no place to plug by the bed it made it impossible to use my cpap machine. I know it’s a historic hotel but some upgrades are necessities in 2024.

Nice stay. It's an older place. Overall happy with the stay. Comfortable and staff was very nice. But there were negatives. Room is on the small side. TV was small. Bath vanity was very small. Beds were small, with no nightstand on one side. Probably would not stay here again.

We were given a room with a view of the airconditioning on a roof. There seemed to be plenty of vacancies, and I don't know why they would not give us a room with a view of the mountains and/or lake. It was disappointing.

Updated room with electrical & usb charging outlets conveniently located on aide of nightstand. Clean, quiet, & comfortable. Convenient to Waynesville & surrounding area.

For a $200/night hotel this was extremely disappointing! Rooms were extremely small with no desk in room, no available outlets (had to "share" one single outlet between room lamp, computer, and phone charger. Finally, view out window of the $200/night hotel room was of the roof of the building adjacent floors containing all the HVAC equipment.

Room was clearly an older version with a rumpled and unsupportive bed, only one light in the room, and very small. This was in contradiction to the photos and description on the hotels.com website. Very disappointing, no acknowledgement or accommodation from the front desk staff when made aware of our concerns.

Arrived really late and staff was so friendly and welcoming.

The Lambuth Inn is a lovely historic hotel in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The staff was wonderful and our accommodations were excellent.

Great location great staff

Check in was very slow because only one staff member at the front desk and there was a line. Probably took about 20 minutes. Property is gorgeous, just like heaven!

We paid extra for a lake-view room but were given one in a corner with no view at all. When we brought this to the front desk’s attention, the staff member simply replied, “You booked through a third party—Hotels.com—so the property can’t guarantee the room.” We were quite disappointed by both the room assignment and the lack of effort to address our concern, especially given the premium we paid and our expectations for better service. We are also concerned about the apparent disconnect between the hotel and Hotels.com, as it leaves guests caught in the middle without accountability from either side. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not recommend this property to others.

Staff need to be friendly. The person in front desk was bad

The hotel is nice. The service was the best part. We had an issue with our AC unit in the room and they immediately found a solution. Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly. Definitely recommend this hotel if you’re wanting a quiet getaway.

Check in was painful. Walked in tired and ready to relax after a long day. Walked up to check in and the clerk says to me that they are full and needs to find a clean room. Then after a few minutes says to me that he found one but it would cost more. I said that it’s only me and I don’t care what type of room. I said that it’s not my fault that they did not have the room that they let book. He blamed it on Expedia, however I know someone at the hotel is making inventory available to Expedia. After 2 phone calls he got a supervisor that allowed him to put me in a single queen room instead of a double. Checkin should not be this hard

Excellent staffs and service.

Nice, quiet, economical overnight stay. Would like to see a stair to the lake. Roads were narrow and unsafe to walk.

It’s like walking into past. Large areas for sitting groups of friends and lots of old hotel ambience. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Location is easily with 30 minutes of Cherokee, Maggie valley and surrounding areas.

Great location (right off the lake). Clean, friendly staff, and a very reasonable price.

We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor garden next to inspiration point and access from the hotel. I liked that we could open the windows in our room. breakfast was wonderful and the copies a nice surprise.

Pleasant place with easy parking. The room was small with no view but a great price. The gentleman working the check out desk had no information about breakfast options - even the breakfast in the hotel. I felt we were interlopers on a larger group.

This is a very old establishment. The rooms are smaller than the room on a cruise ship. They offer a breakfast but it is not located on the property. It is about a 1/4 mile away in another facility.

The Lambuth Inn is a charming property with peaceful, landscaped surroundings. All staff were friendly and kind. Housekeeping is only available upon request, which I wasn't informed about, so I returned to an unmade bed. My upgraded lake view room was disappointing due to condensation between window panes and obstructed view from rotten balcony wood. The AC unit appeared dirty, so I didn't use it despite the warm weather. However, the Easter Sunrise Service across the street was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet at the Lambuth Inn was delicious.

Place is large and front desk gave us a room facing the a/c units and not the lake. This really was the only reason I booked this inn. Also, absolutely no food or beverage options at the inn, not even coffee in the morning.

The lake that's infront of the hotel is BEAUTIFUL! The lobby is super unique, it's got an old fashioned style look! The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't have a breakfast options.
