Self service breakfast available all the time. Great for early departure to the airport. Prompt transfer to the airport very early in the morning. Clean and tidy , compact room but large lounge area and kitchen. Didn't go out so unsure of quality of local amenities but there is a supermarket and eating places near by. Nice and quiet except for the odd motorbike. A good inexpensive place to stay when useing the airport.

Wir waren eine Nacht im Hotel und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich. Die gesamte Unterkunft strahlt eine Wohlfühlatmosphäre aus. Esteban bietet einen Transfer-Service vom Flughafen an. Wir sind mit unserem Mietwagen angereist und konnten ihn über Nacht für kleines Geld auf einem gesicherten Parkplatz parken, welcher schräg gegenüber liegt. Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche, in der man sich morgens Frühstück zubereiten kann.

Chambre d'hôtes propre mais bruyante car les chambres donnent sur un patio accessible à l'ensemble des clients avec une cuisine, donc si certains discutent, on entend toute la conversation. Le petit déjeuner est sommaire avec à disposition du pain de mie, des oeufs, de la margarine et des confitures. Attention pas de parking, nous avons garé la voiture juste devant les chambres d'hôtes, le temps d'une nuit mais apparemment il y a des parkings payants pas très loin (10$/nuit). Bref, ce n'est pas mon hôtel coup de cœur mais c'est pratique quand on arrive directement de l'aéroport car à 10mn.

Una casa molto carina e ben preparata, con un bellissimo giardino e zone salotto, cucina in comune ben fornita e molto efficiente. Abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo la disponibilità e cortesia del proprietario, che ci ha aiutato con dei problemi che avevamo aiuto. Molto consigliata come location, zona tranquilla e con supermercato, mercato e ristoranti a pochi passi.
Una casa molto carina e ben preparata, con un bellissimo giardino e zone salotto, cucina in comune ben fornita e molto efficiente. Abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo la disponibilità e cortesia del proprietario, che ci ha aiutato con dei problemi che avevamo aiuto. Molto consigliata come location, zona tranquilla e con supermercato, mercato e ristoranti a pochi passi.

This place was great. It was so welcoming and warm. I felt like I had gone back in time. Everything was old-fashion and authentic. It was unique in itself. Nice and clean. I wish I had had more time to spend there. The hotel boutique has a really great history behind it. I loved it. It has a really unique way of checking in. I really liked that. I do suggest that you use a parking lot to park your rental car. There is one not far away from the site. The hosts were very helpful with an unfortunate situation we had. I appreciated that. They also offer airport drop-off for $5. Which is great. I´d definitely stay there again.

This hotel is a 5 minute drive to juan santamaria (SJO) airport. Really convenient if you arrive but especially before departure as traffic in san jose can be quite unpredictible. This hotel is a hidden gem. Anonymous facade from a previous familly house, you wouldn't know it's an hotel until you get in. It's more than a hotel imo, it feels like home with a communal kitchen and a lush and peaceful garden for the 8 or 10 rooms around it. It felt safe and welcoming. The only hotel where other guests were also friendly even if most only stay for a day. The owner personally welcomes each guests, even though I was a little stressed out from the no parking in front and trying to find parking. if you do have a car, ask the owner where to park, he has an agreement with another lot for discounted parking (2.5k colo nes per 12 hours, which less expensive than other public parqueos that scams tourists) Beds are the most comfortable in the 8 rented locations in 3 weeks. There is Kolbi store to the left to get a sim card or recharge one can be useful. Super compro (food store) around the block and several other boutiques. Not much to do besides the magnificient cathedral, the free museum, and the boutiques. I liked the 2nd hand libray Goolight books that has books in english, german, french and spanish. Bottom line - this place is a hidden gem

We had a really great stay here. Very quaint and the all day breakfast was a big plus. PLEASE BE AWARE that the gated parking that they suggest is $35 for day+night. And DO NOT park outside the hotel. Our rental car was broken into and the spare tire was stolen ;(

Cute little place in the heart of Alejuela, walking distance to many things, and a 10 min drive to the airport. Staff was communicative and check in was easy. The room was cute and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Good AC, hot water, and great water pressure in the shower. Even basics to eat in the shared kitchen.

We stayed only 1 night as we needed a place close to the airport for our flight the next day. Loved the shared space which was so clean and well presented. The outdoor patio with the little fountain was calming. If only we had more time to enjoy this space. The all day breakfast is a bonus with sliced fruit in the fridge and eggs (make your own), bread, coffee, tea, etc. Probably the cleanest place we stayed at in all of Costa Rica. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and communication was seamless. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Great place - really clean and nice. Great customer service. The bed and AC and room in general were perfect. Really nice. This place is way better than the overpriced chain hotels near the airport so I was thrilled with my decision. It was really quiet at night - you would never know you are in a city.

Dieses Hotel ist geradezu ideal für alle, die gerade eben in Costa Rica angekommen sind bzw. die kurz vor der Abreise stehen. Die Hoteleigentümer holen ihre Gäste gegen eine geringe Gebühr am Flughafen ab und bringen sie auch dorthin oder zu einer Automietstation. Das Hotel selber ist klein, eher einfach, vor allem auch aber sehr sauber. Die Mitglieder der Eigentümerfamilie sind sehr freundlich. Und sicher fühlt man sich auch.
Dieses Hotel ist geradezu ideal für alle, die gerade eben in Costa Rica angekommen sind bzw. die kurz vor der Abreise stehen. Bei Ankunft vor verschlossener Zimmertür gestanden, da der übermittelte Code nicht ging - guter Start nach langer Anreise am Abend. Kontakraufnahme nicht möglich. Zum Glück kam der Besitzer nach einiger Zeit und hat den Türcode aktiviert. Am zweiten Tag wieder dasselbe! Er hatte vergessen einzustellen dass das Zimmer für 2 Tage gebucht wurde. Zimmer selbst muffig und teilweise mit Schimmel. Zimmer wurde auch nicht gereinigt. Das inkludierte Frühstück musste man sich aus einer handvoll billiger Zutaten selbst zusammenstellen/zubereiten und Geschirr usw selbst abwaschen! Unterkunft hat nichts mit einem Boutique-Hotel zu tun, sondern ist eine chaotisch geführte Privatunterkunft in einem normalen Wohnhaus. Kann davon nur abraten.

The exchange rate given in colones was 25,200 mil. A little bit higher than $50. Not a big deal, just be aware that $ will not be exact. Still a great deal for this comfortable stay. Walking distance to the main square.

Wir sind das 3. Mal hier gewesen und es war immer hervorragend, was Sauberkeit, Zimmergröße und - einrichtung, Freundlichkeit und Frühstück angeht... aber es gibt einige offene Baustellen, wie zum Beispiel kaputte Dielen im allgemeinen Bereich (Stolperstellen), und bei unserem letzten Besuch auch eine defekte Schließmechanik an unserer Tür, sowie Defekte Toilettenspülung und Lampe...
Wir sind das 3. Mal hier gewesen und es war immer hervorragend, was Sauberkeit, Zimmergröße und - einrichtung, Freundlichkeit und Frühstück angeht... aber es gibt einige offene Baustellen, wie zum Beispiel kaputte Dielen im allgemeinen Bereich (Stolperstellen), und bei unserem letzten Besuch auch eine defekte Schließmechanik an unserer Tür, sowie Defekte Toilettenspülung und Lampe...

Das Hotel ist funktional und praktisch aufgebaut – es bietet vielleicht keinen großen Komfort, aber für eine Übernachtung völlig ausreichend. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der sehr gute Service vor Ort, das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Leider war die Kommunikation im Vorfeld etwas schleppend, und das Zimmer wirkte bereits etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Zudem wurde das Wasser in der Dusche nur lauwarm. Ein großes Plus war der zuverlässige und günstige Shuttle-Service zum Flughafen. Wir mussten bereits um 4 Uhr morgens dort sein, und der Shuttle hat perfekt funktioniert – für nur 10 $, was günstiger war als ein Uber. Insgesamt war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in Ordnung für eine kurze Übernachtung.

Cute little place in the heart of Alejuela, walking distance to many things, and a 10 min drive to the airport. Staff was communicative and check in was easy. The room was cute and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Good AC, hot water, and great water pressure in the shower. Even basics to eat in the shared kitchen.

We only spent one night, so easy to find.. Quick UBER from SJO. Our arrival was a bit of a hiccup, the codes for self entry did not work Bit the problem was rectified and new codes given. There is breakfast (self service) with basic items available, self clean up as well.. The room was off a nice garden area and quiet. Overall for the value and one night it was fine, they offer a great service for a airport/drop service! 5$ ttl.

Never ever book in this hotel. They don't know how to treat people. Our flight was delayed and I informed the hotel about that. We spent the whole night at the airport finally we arrived and the hotel didn't allow us to check-in.

Great little hotel near the airport . Estaban was very helpful and he took us to the airport at 5 am. We stayed at this hotel when we arrived at and departed from Costa Rica and would recommend this hotel .

My travel partner and I had a great one night stay here at Alice y Juancito. Esteban was very courteous and welcoming. The location is like 12 mins from SJO which was extremely convenient. The neighborhood was walkable and not very touristy. As a matter of fact, we didn’t run into many tourists at all around here. The property itself is so cutely decorated and cozy, we felt very comfortable here. We’d absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here for 1 night before our early morning flight. Location was a few minutes away. Didn't spend much time in the room. We did appreciate the walkability to local restaurants. Felt like a real San Jose neighborhood, not a chain hotel. Service was attentive and checked in regularly to make sure all was good. Highly recommended.

They were so helpful! Offered to pick us up from the airport even though it was late coming in, and brought us to rental car agency the next day. Clean, great breakfast, and really kind people. Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable bed. Grandmother's home feel. The park garage was 5,000 colones if you leave your car before p.m. They charge you for an afternoon and a day. $10. Our hotel price was 49.40. The exchange rate given in colones was 25,200 mil. A little bit higher than $50. Not a big deal, just be aware that $ will not be exact. Still a great deal for this comfortable stay. Walking distance to the main square.

Chambre d'hôtes propre mais bruyante car les chambres donnent sur un patio accessible à l'ensemble des clients avec une cuisine, donc si certains discutent, on entend toute la conversation. Le petit déjeuner est sommaire avec à disposition du pain de mie, des oeufs, de la margarine et des confitures. Attention pas de parking, nous avons garé la voiture juste devant les chambres d'hôtes, le temps d'une nuit mais apparemment il y a des parkings payants pas très loin (10$/nuit). Bref, ce n'est pas mon hôtel coup de cœur mais c'est pratique quand on arrive directement de l'aéroport car à 10mn.

The hotel owner and place is good. But we had a terrible experience if the lifetime. We would not recommned to book any hotel around this area. Our car was broken in and multiple cars were attempted theft that night. Its not a safe area. We are still battling with enterprise service as they charged us 3500$ for car damage. This area is certainly not safe and the owner and other people wont tell you about this. There is no parking in this hotel. Better book a hotel with parking as San Jose is not a safe place. As soon as we landed in costa rica within 6 hours we were robbed. So do not prefer this area.

We had a really great stay here. Very quaint and the all day breakfast was a big plus. PLEASE BE AWARE that the gated parking that they suggest is $35 for day+night. And DO NOT park outside the hotel. Our rental car was broken into and the spare tire was stolen ;(

I stayed here for one night after arriving on a late flight. They collected me from the airport and communicated well throughout. Nice, clean and comfortable room. Safe location and friendly staff. A great place for a convenient stay near the airport. Thank you!

We stayed only 1 night as we needed a place close to the airport for our flight the next day. Loved the shared space which was so clean and well presented. The outdoor patio with the little fountain was calming. If only we had more time to enjoy this space. The all day breakfast is a bonus with sliced fruit in the fridge and eggs (make your own), bread, coffee, tea, etc. Probably the cleanest place we stayed at in all of Costa Rica. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and communication was seamless. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Clean and tidy , compact room but large lounge area and kitchen. Didn't go out so unsure of quality of local amenities but there is a supermarket and eating places near by. This hotel was very close to the airport which was very convenient for us because we arrived a bit late in San Jose. We were flying out the next morning. They picked us up and took as back to the airport, were helpful, friendly, and provided a wonderful breakfast. The hotel is super cute with a nice courtyard and a dining space where guests can use the walls as a guestbook. Very cool!

Muy limpio todo, la ubicación es buena porque está cerca del aeropuerto. La cama muy cómoda. El agua salía tibia y el “desayuno” (te dejan un par de huevos para que tu te los prepares y dos pedazos de fruta en el refri)

the hotel is very cozy, the vibe is so nice but personally I faced two problems first I really want to have a TV in my room second the breakfast style is nice in general and fixable, but the options are so limited only eggs no cheese or vegetables and for the bread only butter no jam or any type of cheese.

We only staid here for a night but it was very cozy ! They picked us up from the airport at 11pm and took us to our room. Very quiet place with friendly staff and other guests. You make your own breakfast with what they have in the communal kitchen and the freshly cut pineapple and papaya were a big plus.

This hotel is a 5 minute drive to juan santamaria (SJO) airport. Really convenient if you arrive but especially before departure as traffic in san jose can be quite unpredictible. This hotel is a hidden gem. Anonymous facade from a previous familly house, you wouldn't know it's an hotel until you get in. It's more than a hotel imo, it feels like home with a communal kitchen and a lush and peaceful garden for the 8 or 10 rooms around it. It felt safe and welcoming. The only hotel where other guests were also friendly even if most only stay for a day. The owner personally welcomes each guests, even though I was a little stressed out from the no parking in front and trying to find parking. if you do have a car, ask the owner where to park, he has an agreement with another lot for discounted parking (2.5k colo nes per 12 hours, which less expensive than other public parqueos that scams tourists) Beds are the most comfortable in the 8 rented locations in 3 weeks. There is Kolbi store to the left to get a sim card or recharge one can be useful. Super compro (food store) around the block and several other boutiques. Not much to do besides the magnificient cathedral, the free museum, and the boutiques. I liked the 2nd hand libray Goolight books that has books in english, german, french and spanish. Bottom line - this place is a hidden gem

Great place - really clean and nice. Great customer service. The bed and AC and room in general were perfect. Really nice. This place is way better than the overpriced chain hotels near the airport so I was thrilled with my decision. It was really quiet at night - you would never know you are in a city.
