When we checked in, the owner told us the Queen bed room was tiny. We were okay with that. We loved the location; out of the city in a quiet community. The bay view in front of the motel was great. Geese were all alongside the road. We could see a train and its drawbridge across the bay. We enjoyed sitting in chairs in front and talking to people in the neighboring rooms. We were offered snacks and soft drinks when we checked in. There was no breakfast, but we knew that in advance. We had coffee, a refrigerator and microwave in the room. There were a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We were about 8 miles away from the Goodtime I cruise dock and the ferry dock which goes to nearby islands and Lake Erie cruises. About 10 miles from Walmart, Sam's Club and lots of restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and talked to others who were repeat customers at The Cedar Motel. It's not like a fancy hotel, but has a much better atmosphere.

This is a quiet little off the beaten path place to stay. If you are high maintenance, this place is not for you. But if you appreciate the finer things in life, this inn is awesome. The service is great, owner is suoer sweet. Communication was great! Right across from Sandusky Bay, evening fire pit and tiki torch area. Really a cute place! I would absolutely stay here again!

We stayed here a couple years ago. Clean simple room. Great person at desk. This time the room smelled funky and it looks like the property isn’t as well maintained. The guy at the desk wasn’t impressive when we checked in. We showed up at scheduled time of check in to him telling me it could be an hour until room is ready. I pushed back and he changed it to ready in 20 minutes. Not a terrible stay, but much better a years ago. Better cleanliness in the past.

We came on a 3 day fishing trip with my wife and 2 young boys ages 8 and 12. The motel is clean, and a comfy place to lay your head at night. The staff is very kind.

We have stayed here last year and this year. Really appreciate that this little motel has been consistent in cleanliness. The family that owns it is helpful and friendly, and work hard to keep the experience of staying there very pleasant. We will be back.

It’s got a nice water view. Room is extremely small but it’s clean. Built in 1954 it has its own personality. Saundra was very friendly and helpful.

The room was very clean. The fire pit area and outdoor area with the tiki torches was very nice. We were in room 2. The door in between room 2 and 3 was so thin that we could hear the TV and the people from the other room like they were in our room. The showerhead was awful for anybody taller than 5’6” because it pointed almost straight down. I would stay there again, but not for that price.

EXTREMELY Pricey for a tiny, no frills room with the smallest bathroom I've ever tried to shower, etc. in! That said, the property staff was VERY nice and Welcoming. She really made it easier for me to overlook the negative for the one night we stayed.

We ended up coming back up the next 2 weekends. This Motel was awesome. It was just what we needed and out of the Cedar Point traffic. We were there because a friend of ours was very sick. The Woman and her son that runs were the nicest people. We will be going back up and using this motel for sure. It is between Sandusky and Port Clinton. Perfect little spot. Beautiful sunsets.

Right across from the lake… so beautiful. The woman in the office was so kind and accommodating! Room itself was clean, and we will 100% be coming back. Loved!!

We ended up coming back up the next 2 weekends. This Motel was awesome. It was just what we needed and out of the Cedar Point traffic. We were there because a friend of ours was very sick. The Woman and her son that runs were the nicest people. We will be going back up and using this motel for sure. It is between Sandusky and Port Clinton. Perfect little spot. Beautiful sunsets.

This is definitely a no-frills accommodation but it was exactly what we needed. Our room was perfectly clean and we had towels, a coffeemaker, coffee, mugs, and cable. More than enough for an overnight stay. There was even a "dorm" size refrigerator which is more than you get in some luxury hotel rooms! The room was also perfectly quiet. Saundra at the front desk checked us in quickly and knew everything about the area, suggested some places we could visit, and gave us directions. I had a little trouble opening the door to the room initially but Saundra had a couple of suggestions and we had no trouble after that. We loved the area around the motel - we could walk across the street and sit on a park bench next to Sandusky Bay or just walk around the neighborhood streets. There's practically no traffic. There are a couple of restaurants a few doors up or down from the motel and a bait and tackle shop for those who fish. We'd definitely stay here again.

When we checked in, the owner told us the Queen bed room was tiny. We were okay with that. We loved the location; out of the city in a quiet community. The bay view in front of the motel was great. Geese were all alongside the road. We could see a train and its drawbridge across the bay. We enjoyed sitting in chairs in front and talking to people in the neighboring rooms. We were offered snacks and soft drinks when we checked in. There was no breakfast, but we knew that in advance. We had coffee, a refrigerator and microwave in the room. There were a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We were about 8 miles away from the Goodtime I cruise dock and the ferry dock which goes to nearby islands and Lake Erie cruises. About 10 miles from Walmart, Sam's Club and lots of restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and talked to others who were repeat customers at The Cedar Motel. It's not like a fancy hotel, but has a much better atmosphere.

This property was very nice and well maintained. They do a no contact check in/out so we never saw any staff, but it worked out just fine. The only small problem we had was we arrived after dark, and it was really hard to find our room. The room numbers are hard to see after dark. We were also in a room around the corner from the main office. This was a really minor issue in what was a great stay. Another suggestion for the management would be to add more towel hooks near the shower so you don't have to walk out of it to get your towel. Great place, would recommend.
