Element by Marriott Denver Downtown East

The staff is incredible. From check in (thank you, again, ReAnn) to check out (AGM Karl McCoor), everything was perfect. I had several requests upon arrival and all were met by ReAnn, and then some. Thank you. Parking is SAFE and SECURE and very convenient access from the garage to the rooms. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean. Our breakfast was delicious, hot and healthy and the ladies working in the dining area made sure everything was replenished and clean. The gym was impeccable. Plenty of fresh towels, filtered water dispenser, clean and the machines were all in working order. Check out was wonderful (again, more of my requests were met and surpassed, thank you, AGM Karl. You are an asset to Marriott Bonvoy). This is not the first stay for us at this location. We will certainly return and refer to friends and family.

The location of the hotel was great. The studio room was large enough for just myself and had everything I needed. The gym had just enough equipment for me to get a proper workout and the staff were friendly and helpful all the time. Downside was that the rooftop deck was off limits. It's being rented out long term to someone at the hotel. That sucks, as I came to Denver in a time when the weather was great. Had I known the hotel deck was closed, I would have gone to another hotel.

The parking is extremely expensive at $25/ night and the gate is in a very small alley behind the property. To get to the key swipe to open the gate, you have to get out of your car, go around to the other side, swipe your card, then walk back around and get back into your car to drive up. This is super sketchy, especially at night. The hotel has extremely limited hourly pay parking. No shelf in the shower for razor, soaps, etc. The hot water faucet handle in my bathroom was broken. Toilet paper is not much better than a crumbled up piece of paper. Based on the surroundings (80 year old buildings that are now Jerry-rigged, poorly maintained Bail Bond places), it looks like they tore down several similar buildings in order to build this hotel. I would not stay here again.

The breakfast was hot and fresh and amazing. The parking garage was very hard to get into and out of. The room was clean but they were stingy with the towels. It’s downtown so there is no view.

Overall a nice, clean, modern vibe to the hotel. We were awakened early by the fire alarm from what appeared to be a false alarm on a lower floor. Access to the outdoor space/balcony pictured in their ads is only for groups, not individuals.

Very generous happy hour

We were only here for one night but it was great! Super clean, huge and comfortable lobby area. Parking is safe, easy to access, and similar in price to other options. The bartender at the happy hour reception was friendly, gave us some great recommendations for food, and was excellent company.

Exactly as expected. Clean, good water pressure, kitchenette was stocked with cooking utensils and cutlery. Parking garage is very secure with keycard locked gate. Breakfast options were some of the best I've had. Flat top griddle with a small breakfast menu to order fresh options from, yogurt bar, and an assortment of pastries and breads with toaster ovens available.

We come to Denver often for medical tests at National Jewish Health. We always stay at element downtown Denver East and love our stay. However, this time we paid a lot of money for parking at the hotel and did not feel safe at all. There was a drug exchange/deal in the back of the alley where you come in to park in the parking garage. The parking garage door was open the entire time. Normally you have to have key card access to open the gate to the parking garage. However, the parking garage gate was open the entire time, and most of the parking was taken up by self driving Jaguar cars. Normally, you have to have a key card to get up to your hotel room however, this time the key card access in the elevator wasn’t working so you didn’t need your key card to get access to the floor of your hotel room. The security has gone way downhill at this hotel which surprised us. It’s a great hotel however security is not up to standards anymore.

Dead bug over bathroom door. Looks like someone blew their nose on the TV. No extra towels for two people. Only one washcloth. Small room.

I had a fairly good stay at Element. The location was very good. The staff members were extremely accommodating, and I enjoyed the included breakfast. The property itself felt a bit worn out. The first room that I was given was not properly cleaned -- hairs on the pillows and a bad smell. The front desk was very apologetic and upgraded me immediately, which I greatly appreciated. Even in the new room, there were some small problems -- the sheets were threadbare in places and seemed in need of replacing, the ironing board did not have a pad on it, the cleaning was not extremely thorough (there were some small items on the floor in the corners from a previous guest). The staff were very accommodating again, bringing me a new ironing board. The staff at the hotel made my stay comfortable and much better than it could have been! Overall, a decent hotel with great staff in a good location, perhaps in need of an update to some facilities and amenities.

Staff was outstanding. Great breakfast options and happy hour too. Cleanliness of our floor was less than it should have been, and there were maintenance issues with the carpeting/flooring, and some our room fixtures. If they fix that stuff, things would have been top notch.

Hotel was very clean, room was excellent and very quiet. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and the staff was extremely nice. However there is not enough parking for all the hotel guests. We had to park on the street the first night and unfortunately got a ticket because we did not move the vehicle in time. Not sure if I would stay here again since parking was not so great.

Staff were absolutely wonderful! They went above and beyond. Room was mediocre. Bathroom lights automatically turned on when entering and were blinding especially in the middle of the night. Water faucets in kitchenette were extremely hard to use since they were so close to the shelf above. Fridge was lukewarm on high. Both towels were worn and thin.

Parking extra fee per night. Also rooms are not vacuumed or mopped during routine service.

I enjoyed my stay at Element for a 5 day trip. The room as really nice, breakfast was good (and free!) and overall I found comfort. I will likely be back considering the cost is so much cheaper than elsewhere. Main concerns were cleanliness, unexpected charges and overall property concerns. There were several gross stains in my room. The maids would come in daily to clean but it would leave an awful smell that caused my eyes to burn to the point I had to leave until it cleared out. I received several charge attempts after I checked in. I was informed this was for their security deposit. I've never had a hotel try to charge a security deposit after I paid one when I checked in. It was just super weird and I think they need to notify people of this especially considering I called and asked about the security deposit prior. I overheard staff members talk about overbooking multiple times during my stay and how people were going to be denied their rooms when they arrived. This is probably my number one concern with returning and for other potential guests.

The room was very clean, the staff really nice and a wonderful free breakfast. The location was also very good - close to Broncos Stadium and the Denver Art Museum. Thank you!

Hotel was nice, pretty clean, beds were comfortable and staff members were kind. Our window faced an alley-not pretty. Breakfast was excellent, but hotel was short on dishes available to put your breakfast items in all three mornings. I’m not sure why this was a continual and unnecessary problem.

This hotel had a few weird reviews. I read them after I booked, so I was a little concerned. I chose it since they had a regular rate room with two queen beds and a sofa bed for three guests. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised the service was excellent, the room had an actual full size galley kitchen with real plates and cups. The beds were comfortable, and everything looked spotless. Excellent showers! Easy to adjust thermostat. Just turn off the automatic lights since they have little lights that blink at night. The lobby is highly comfortable. I'm sorry I missed the free happy hour at the open bar. Breakfast is hot or cold, your choice, and good enough, especially the freshly made omelets. The coffee was delicious, and I'm a coffee snob!

The actual hotel itself is beautiful and very eco friendly but the lights being motion activated meant taking a shower in the dark sometimes is the lights turning off if you're doing an activity that requires you to sit still for too long. The breakfast is delicious and fresh made each morning but there is no place near by to get food for dinner and the food the hotel itself does offer is pre packaged and expensive.

Great Hotel and excellent location. The free drink hour at the bar was nice touch and good way to get travelling tips from other travellers. Only complaint that I have for the hotel is that the walls are paperthin and you can hear noise from the corridors

The property was very clean. The staff were very friendly and approachable. I love the fact that the Element by Westin has rooms that are eco-friendly and has everything that was needed. I especially love the filtered water spot in the rooms!

Everything went really well! The fridge was out of commission but we didn’t need it so it was no issue.

We stayed at Element Downtown Denver East from March 31–April 6, 2025, and had one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever encountered. While a front desk rep kindly upgraded our room and was helpful about parking tips, the overall management and condition of the property were unacceptable. From April 1–4, fire alarm testing caused daily disruptions and unscheduled room entries—without proper notice. We spoke directly to the fire tech, who confirmed the GM “forgot” to notify guests or staff. A housekeeper tried sliding a late notice under our door after alarms had started, and no one at the desk took ownership of our concern. Only one elevator worked at check-in; the second day failed, leaving both out of order. A printed sign taped to the elevator remained there for days. We were forced to use the stairs, deal with long waits, minimal acknowledgment from staff. The room—an upgraded suite—was understocked with just one glass and a few mismatched cups. Common areas were visibly dirty, trash bins overflowed, and we watched staff walk past garbage without action. The GM was dismissive when we raised concerns, and another manager wrongly accused us of being rude during a simple question about transportation. 🌟 The Bright Spots The front ambassador's Matt and Sean were a saving grace—professional, kind, and responsive while Señora Connie in the breakfast area went above and beyond with genuine care and homemade salsa that made us feel welcome and cared for.

Rude cold staff except the lady cooking was awesome bartender lady was awful

When I first checked in, my room key didnt work. I went back down to the front desk and they reprogrammed a key for me. The next night a couple tried to get in my room. It turns out they had been given the same room as me. I went down to the front desk to sort it out, but they were super busy. So, I grabbed a sandwich from Subway around the corner. When I got back, I spoke with the person at the front desk. He told me another employee had gone up to check on my room. When he got back they told me it showed my reservation was cancelled. I'm not sure how that could be, since this was my second night in the hotel, and I was charged for both nights. They told me they would get it fixed. I went back up to my room and once again my key didnt work. Im assuming they deactivated it. I had to go back down and get the key reprogrammed again. Having someone try to come in my room was not ideal. Nor was my reservation being cancelled and having to get my key reprogrammed twice. Im not sure if the attendant went into my room while I was at Subway, I would imagine he did since their system showed I shouldnt be in that room. Not the best stay for me.

The main reason I didn't give this five stars is not really the hotel's fault, but that of Hotels.com. When I arrived, I was told that the hotel was overbooked and that Hotels.com should have notified me (which they didn't). The hotel manager said they had already booked me at another hotel (which was not within walking distance to the conference I was going to) and offered to pay for my transport to that place. This was at 10 pm and I was not pleased. The only thing that the actual hotel forgot to tell me was that I would only be staying at the second hotel for one night, and could come back for the remainder of the stay. I found that out at the second hotel when they said I was only booked for one night. Element also paid for my return trip (at 6:00AM because I had an early call for work). They also upgraded my room to a suite. I liked the free breakfast in the bright open plan dining area. Other things:The sensors for the lighting were a bit buggy. They automatically went off if you were sitting still, but popped on if you moved too much in bed--a big surprise the first night, that could have been explained ahead of time (or maybe over-ridden) somewhere. Going to the bathroom in the middle of the night was kind of a paparazzi experience. (And, BTW, the dates on this review are incorrect, Hotels.com)

I booked this hotel months ago for the Taylor swift concert. When we arrived, I was told by the extremely Rude girl at the front desk, that our room had been cancelled and “somebody emailed you”. I look in my email and see nothing like that, but showed her the confirmation. “Well you used Expedia and we overbook so we cancel those people first”. Then, after we refused to accept that, she says “I still have the room you booked available, but how about you take this other one at a discount, it just doesn’t have a working air conditioner”. We refused. We wind up in our room eventually, no apology from this woman. Just don’t stay here. I have never had an experience like this.

This is probably one of the best three-star hotels in which I’ve ever stayed. The front desk staff was always pleasant and accommodating. There’s a much better than average breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, good coffee options and even fresh (made to order) omelets. The parking is easy and not a rip off, and there are several good restaurants in the area (Golden Triangle) or a very quick Uber ride to downtown or the nearby neighborhoods. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Housekeeping is fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel! If there were one small nit and management wanted to knock it out of the park, they should spend 100 bucks on a few higher quality hair dryers to have on hand when requested because the base hair dyers aren’t great.

The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was nice - the woman making omelets each morning was friendly and efficient. The staff at checkin were friendly and helpful. Overall, the experience was our favorite during our travels between location, room, and breakfast.

Hotel was great. Neighborhood was bad. While checking in a car next to ours was being broken in. It was the middle of the day. Thief was there the whole weekend. I think she lives in the ally. So pay the $25 a day to park in the garage. It seemed somewhat secure.

Very nice facility and accommodations. Good breakfast. Clean, fresh, with attentive staff. The surrounding area included a marijuana shop, a bail bondsman and a recovery center - as a woman alone I would not go out after dark. No restaurants nearby

When we checked in, we discovered there was only one tissue in the bathroom and no garbage bags in the garbage cans. The room had no pen and paper, no instructions for WiFi or other services, no information about the hotel, and no information about the surrounding area. On our third night there we learned the bar has free wine and snacks! Staff were very friendly, but only when we dug for information. The surrounding area has some pretty run-down buildings, broken sidewalks, homeless, and lots of noise. There\'s some kind of "camp" of tiny houses across the street and we saw about ten police vehicles blocking the streets while they searched for someone.

This hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with very few restaurants about 10 minutes walk from the convention center. Hotel is nicely designed in an open, modern style and looks new. Nice things about this hotel include a free breakfast with freshly made omelettes, and filtered water on tap in the room. No ice machines on the floors, but bags of ice are available near the front desk. It was a good value at a moderate price.

This hotel is in a quiet place in the central Denver. It takes about 15-20 minutes to 16th street by walk. The US post office and court is nearby, so the area looks safe.

The city hotel is located near art museum and state capitol, all in walking distance which makes the pleasant morning walk. Major restaurants are in downtown area that requires driving. Overall, a pleasant stay!

Overall I've been impressed with this hotel both times that I've stayed. The rooms are great, and the breakfast is the best I've had at a hotel in the US. It's convenient for some parts of downtown Denver but less for others. The only real downside is the surroundings are somewhat rundown in places where old houses are now bail bonds businesses. If I need to be near the cultural center, though, I always look for this hotel.

Great hotel and breakfast!! Staff was very helpful. Only drawback is that its not in the best location. While it is downtown, it takes about a mile or so walk to get into the heart of downtown. Uber rides were easily accessible, with quick pickups from the hotel. Room was exactly what we needed and having a separate kitchen area and seperate bedroom was ideal for a week trip. Also nice touch was the filtered water available at the kitchen sink and we were able to fill our water bottles daily, which you will need a lot of if you haven't ever been to Denver. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Amazing breakfast. Great staff. Good location in downtown. You will pay for parking- $25 per day, but when you see how much parking is in the area- you don’t mind. Rooms were clean. Could not hear other guests at all. Staff was very easy to work with. High end clientele so you didn’t feel like riff raff were floating about. Had four adults in one room and it was fine. Would stay again

Nice hotel with the best free hotel breakfast I have ever seen.

The only complaint I could possibly have is that the breakfast was a little light on healthy options, and often things ran out if you got there after 8:30am - like hot water, fruit, etc. Other than that, the rooms were great and the location was perfect for us,
