Nice, clean room and bathroom. Great breakfast, best rasher of bacon I've had in years. One problem: it was very noisy until late, boxing match being broadcast in the bar below and then people in the street at chucking out time. In all, good VFM

Old classic British Inn, comfortable bed and traditional interior decor. Big bed big room and good pub breakfast. A little bit tight for a couple but that seems to be for inns. Big public parking behind the building 1 pound total from 6pm-8am and 1 pound per hour thereafter.

Booked 2 nights at The Black Hat for a short break in Ilkley. Great choice! Good things. Staff were excellent especially Jack Rooms very clean & well equipped & presented Beds very comfortable Breakfast very good Great beer garden Very well located for town centre & walking. Bad things. The hotel is in a great location in the center of Ilkley, staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and had everything you need (including a coffee machine). Cooked Breakfast was excellent. Parking was limited but its right next to a large pay and display

Excellent stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived till we left. A very pet friendly hotel, the staff went out of their way to please the dogs as much as us. Food was excellent we loved the breakfast. Ample parking in the public car park. We would recommend and hopefully we will return.

Our stay at the Black Hat was incredible! The staff were all so friendly, it felt like a home away from home! The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The pub downstairs is a lovely place for drinks and some food, showing the major sporting events. The Ashes were on and a bit hit! Couldn’t recommend more!

The Black Hat is a long-term favourite when I stay in Ilkley. For business users, it's great with breakfast served from 7:30am, including fully cooked options and lighter items like cereals. The rooms are immaculate. The two ladies that keep the place tidy should win an award for the cleanest toilets (and overall bathrooms and bedrooms) in Ilkley! It makes the stay so much nicer when it is totally spotless. You can really see the attention to detail in the cleaning and tidying. The pub itself has a good atmosphere, a mixed crowd with plenty of younger folks too, plus a great beer garden and sheltered / heated huts outside.

We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. En suite was well laid out and tastefully decorated. A few hangers were on a rail for our clothes and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board were also in the room. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffee facilities included a coffee pod machine, a kettle, tea bags, decaf coffee sachets and the usual milk pots and sugar/sweetener. My only suggestion would be to have a couple of normal coffee sachets in addition to the 2 pods. I had a cup of tea but would have had coffee if there had been sachets. Breakfast was included and a good selection of cooked items, cereal, toast, yoghurts and fruit were available. I ended up having sausage, egg, and beans as well as a slice of toast with jam. There was tea and proper coffee to drink as well as apple and orange juice. We all agreed that everything was delicious, including the kids, with the 8 year old demolishing the kids full english. We honestly couldn't have wished for a more friendly and accommodating host. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Ilkley.

Lovely hotel in a great position. Room was ideal. Very comfy. Nice bath. Welcome was warm. Breakfast was very tasty. Only negative was the service at breakfast. Pretty much ignored by the only staff member around who was cleaning. Had to sort out where we sat and own hot drinks. No one to take hot food order until i went for a wander. Food was lovely. Would have liked some toast to finish but decided it was not worth the hassle. Maybe just an off shift as welcome was warm and everything else was great. Loved the rooms named after cricketers

This is a great hotel/pub in an excellent location in the centre of Ilkley. The landlord and his staff were all super friendly and could not do enough for us. We were given an upgrade on our rooms, and were allowed an early checkin despite the place being really busy for Mothers Day. Breakfast was particularly good - especially the scrambled egg and three-pan-omelette - highly recommended if you’re staying here :-)

Great stay at the Black Hat, minor miss hap with the phone system meant i could not get in touch to find the parking. i believe its option 4 to get through the property. staff were lovely and welcoming, Jonelle (sorry if I have spelt that wrong) the house keeper was amazing and helped with my bags!

This is an excellent hotel right in the heart of Ilkley with easy access to plenty of places to eat and drink. Right at the foot of the Moors, there’s plenty of amazing walks starting right on the door step. The staff here were all great and very welcoming and attentive from start to finish. The room we had was spacious and very clean with contemporary furnishings and all the amenities you would want. Highly recommended place to stay.

The hotel is in a great location in the center of Ilkley, staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and had everything you need (including a coffee machine). Cooked Breakfast was excellent. Parking was limited but its right next to a large pay and display

Surprisingly spacious quiet room and bathroom. In centre of Ilkley so next to all shops and restaurants. Nathan,who was check in staff, was polite cheerful and very helpful. Enjoyed my stay

We had a wonderful stay at The Black Hat, all staff were so friendly and helpful and the location was perfect right in the heart of town. The room was very clean and comfortable with nice toiletries and teas/coffees and the breakfast was lovely as were the meals in bar. Hope to stay there again.

Lovely hotel in a great position. Room was ideal. Very comfy. Nice bath. Welcome was warm. Breakfast was very tasty. Only negative was the service at breakfast. Pretty much ignored by the only staff member around who was cleaning. Had to sort out where we sat and own hot drinks. No one to take hot food order until i went for a wander. Food was lovely. Would have liked some toast to finish but decided it was not worth the hassle. Maybe just an off shift as welcome was warm and everything else was great. Loved the rooms named after cricketers

This is a great hotel/pub in an excellent location in the centre of Ilkley. The landlord and his staff were all super friendly and could not do enough for us. We were given an upgrade on our rooms, and were allowed an early checkin despite the place being really busy for Mothers Day. Breakfast was particularly good - especially the scrambled egg and three-pan-omelette - highly recommended if you’re staying here :-)

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful town! Staff were very friendly and the room was immaculate! Food in the pub was delicious! The full English breakfast was terrific! Highly recommend this hotel!!

The room was spotless and tastefully decorated, the bed was super comfy! The food was good and reasonably priced and the breakfast was amazing! All the staff were super friendly, would definitely stay there again!

Under new management, kitchen closed and was only informed when I got there, therefore no cooked breakfast. Shower tray flooded, water all over the bathroom floor which is rotting the bathroom door. No staff around in the morning

Under new management and not fully staffed as yet. Staff were lovely, friendly and friendly helpful. Bar was reasonably stocked but very expensive. A bottle of red wine was £29. Disappointed that the kitchen is permanently closed so no cooked breakfast. A breakfast hamper of cereals, fruit and yogurt instead

The black hat was so hot I chose to sleep in my car. Poor ventilation an inadequate fan and a radiator left on! When I arrived I was told I hadn’t paid. I had to prove I had and the bed wasn’t set up with twin beds as requested. The staff tried to help and appoligised but it wasn’t a good experience. The time it took to rearrange the bed meant we had to get ready for special night in a rush.
