Best Western Plus Wayland Hotel

The only problems were the hot tub was out of service and the pool has too much chlorine that it was so strong. We were all coughing and feeling it in our lungs for hours after. The room was great and clean. Service was great also.

Enjoyed the pool and hot tub

There is only one elevator. Sometimes there is a line of passengers to take the elevator

No pool or hot tub available...even though at check in they said the pool was...left after 5 hours

Well, for the free hot breakfast, the waffles and scrambled eggs were good. The sausage was not breakfast sausage. It was a Polish or Kielbasa-type sausage. The orange juice was out, and the cranberry juice was very sweet. Could not use the hot tub because of all the people drinking and hogging the tub.

Pool was nice and clean

The first room was not clean and the second room was not much better. The pool was also broken!

The hot tub was freezing cold

After we were given our room key card for the third floor, we got our luggage from the car and went to the elevator. There was a sign that said out of order. Never did the girl at the front desk inform us of this. We asked to be changed to the first floor, but there was nothing available. She put us on the second, which was still two flights of stairs to carry our luggage up. We’re in our seventies, and this was a real burden. Then we got to our room to discover a big glob of long dark hair in the sheets. Disgusting!!! Luckily, there was another bed. Won’t stay there again.

Love the coffee bar and the great service. Pool was closed and I didn’t know that till I was checking in.

The room was not very clean, no Kleenex, and was right next to the highway. Very noisy.

Our bathroom shower could use a refresh with some caulking and a good scrub as there was orange/rust color along the grout lines. The green wall behind the toilet also had splatter marks all over it. There was an M&M on the carpet between the a/c unit and nightstand so that tells me the vacuuming was not done in that area.

This place is amazingly clean. Our room was very clean and comfortable

Staff were great and the hotel was spotless

Shower had hair in it. There were small beetle bugs in the bathroom and closet.

Room was nice...butttt there was a dirty wash cloth hanging over the shower rod...that was a turn offloth

All you can hear in you room is the noise from the highway. Bathroom show around base is mold.

The hotel itself was ok, but your choices for rooms are facing the freeways (constant loud traffic) or facing the side of a shopping center (what appeared to be lumber storage). The fridge in the room made noise, so I got up and disconnected in around 1AM. Cut the stay short a day as a result.

Really nice room! Huge room and shower! Nice to have a little counter space with coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Beds were very comfy. Convenient to shopping and casino. Staff very friendly. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Typical Michigan winter weather hotel was nice but make sure you stay on the east side of the building. There’s a freeway on the other side if you’re not a sound sleeper could be a problem.

The odd number rooms are on the side of the freeway so it can get loud. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel to others and stay there again!

The bedroom was really big. We had a room with two beds and sofa bed, which had it's own TV. The space between beds was very spacious. I snore and my wife, who slept in the other bed for this reason,could not hear me I was so far away. The beds were very comfortable, but pillows were really small. We always bring our own pillows so it was not a big deal. The breakfast in the morning was not great. My wife had some scrambled eggs and went to take a bite, only to find a huge long grey hair in it. Ruined her appetite so she threw it away. Okay, she will get some coffee instead. The kitchen worker with the long grey was making herself cappuccino and used all the hot water in the only coffee machine that makes the coffee! One coffee maker for a whole hotel full of people! She wasn't the only one mad, the lady in front of her had words with the help who just quickly walked away. She should not had been using the guest coffee machine to begin with! Her comment was that we all just had to wait until it heated more coffee, while she walked off with drinking her own. So no breakfast for my wife, and now she is crabby. We had to be a the race track by 8:30 so we hurried up and packed and got out of there. There was a nice grocery store within walking distance if you forgot anything, and Culver's who has really good burgers and ice cream. Also gas station on the way out.

The deposit was very expensive. The staff was hard to communicate with and spoke little English. The hotel was very loud all night with lots of noise and doors slamming. The breakfast was nice. I was woken up so many times I didn’t feel I was able to rest. I was told I could have a late check out at noon and house keeping knocked on my door and woke me up at 11am. So I checked out.

It was very easy to park. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have many choices for breakfast including the make-it-yourself Belgian waffle. Corinna, the kitchen attendant was nice to talk to and explained how to use the waffle maker. Also I called Drew at the front desk a few times and he was always friendly, polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Fairly new hotel, we stay here often. Very clean, quiet. Staff is wonderful!

Great hotel except for the highway noise. Also, booked through Expedia but charged my card again at check-in. Makayla was helpful in straightening it out for me.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is nicely located with a grocery store and other shops nearby. We chose the hotel because of it being only one exit from Gun Lake Casino.

It was a very nice quiet place I only stayed one night and went to gun lake Casino for night. Save your money and stay here casino only 5 minutes away.

The township doesn’t allow a sign on the building so you don’t know what hotel it is by looking at it. Very nice staff, very clean and quiet.

This would have been a much higher rating except our room was next to the US 131 freeway, which was noisy around the clock.

The hotel is hard to find as it sits behind a gas station at the end of a strip mall. It's not visible from the road. The room was clean, but my sink stopped up just from washing my hands. There was no hair dryer, I'm glad I had brought my own. The lighting in the bathroom was very dim; the bathroom fan ran constantly. I did finally find a button to turn it off. The room was very clean, and I was happy it had a coffee maker and refrigerator. Overall, it wasn't bad except for the clogged sink.

Easy in and out with the casino right down the road.

By far the BEST continental breakfast we have ever had at a hotel. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The only issue I had was that I reserved the room online thru Expedia. I always thought going through a booking agent would save me some money but when I got to the hotel to check in I found out that if I would have called direct, they cost was $20 cheaper. Next time I’ll check with the hotel first.
