Great views of the sea. The fish & chips is beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is piping hot it's definitely the best fry up I've had at a hotel. The staff are so friendly & helpful. The hotel has a very relaxed vibe. The wild hare bar is brilliant, there's live music on at night & the cocktails are delicious.

Fantastic 2 nights away Great location , no carpark but plenty available spaces nearby and FREE !! Easy check in great helpful staff Cute quirky room very tastefully decorated . Amazing shower Excellent food , ate here both nights and very good cooked breakfast And the husband enjoyed the Guinness and whisky !! Would definitely recommend this hotel

Full of charm and character , while having modern bathroom, directly across from the beach. Checked in at the bar and escorted to our room. This was one of our favorite places to stay because of the unique features, narrow hallways and myriad of stairs. The beds were comfortable, came with a large bottle of water, tea pot, biscuits The pub below was great! Loved staying here. The arcade was just a few doors down bringing some great entertainment after our dinners walk along the shore. Breakfast was delicious with so many fresh options - continental with croissants, toast, full Irish, juices, cereal, and some fresh fruit. Thank you!!

Excellent property and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Parking close by. Only thing is there is a lot of stairs so if you are not good on your feet this could be a problem. Definitely will be staying here again and would like to thank The Avoca and all the staff for a brilliant time away.

Loved the family room. Ideal for 4. Great restaurant and breakfast, staff here are always so lovely they can't be faulted. The room was super comfortable and loved the decor. This place has real character and we'll definitely be back. Only point to note is the stairs - maybe not ideal for those who have accessibility needs.

The property is located right on the main street and therefore was a bit loud. The room was quite warm and with the windows open, the next door live music from The Wild Hare charmed us well into the early hours of the morning. Some might not like that "vibe". The staff was excellent. We were on our own when it came to parking and had to park almost a mile away from the property and get creative in managing bags to the room.

Most comfortable hotel ive stayed in for a long time. Bedroom really well furnished, bed comfortable and shower amazing. Temperature easy to regulate and quiet. Normally eat outside the hotel, but the bar/restaurant had great decor and atmosphere, food was good too.

Had a wonderful stay. Room was really nice, and has a great view of the ocean. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Free parking around the corner too in a public car park. Would stay again m.

Fantastic hotel right outside the promenade and a stones throw away from the town. I believe it was refurbished recently enough, very comfortable and the decor is really well done. We’d a beautiful sea view room. The staff were really nice and v helpful, the restaurant and bar were excellent (great food and drink). Highly recommend.

It’s always a pleasure to stay at the Avoca Hotel. Lovely friendly staff, excellent food and they keep the place very clean and tidy. The staff can’t do enough for you to ensure you have everything you need . Rooms are cleaned every single day, fresh towels, tea making facilities are replenished too! Hopefully it won’t be too long before we’re back again!

It’s always a pleasure to stay at the Avoca Hotel. Lovely friendly staff, excellent food and they keep the place very clean and tidy. From the moment we checked in until we checked out everything was excellent. Our room 205 had a wonderful sea view and was spotless. It was very comfortable and I loved the exposed brick wall. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and service was top notch. Special thanks to Sarah, Thomas & Nicola. We will be back 😁

We had a lovely welcome which set the scene for our entire stay. The bedroom was quirky and very comfortable with the most beautiful sea view. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was huge and really tasty. We loved our stay at Avoca and are already planning our next visit. Have recommended it to friends and family already.

Lovely room with cracking view of the see. Parking very close and not far from town centre. Welcoming and friendly staff and good breakfast. Only thing I would mention was lack of storage in the room but we managed. Would stay again.

Room on the small and and very dark. only one very low energy spot bulb in the ceiling. Room comfy enough but pretty basic. You're aware of traffic noise and noise from corridors but not from other rooms.

Small room but great view. Staff were very good. Limited menu if dining in. We were only offered large or small fry for breakfast while other people were eating pancakes etc. ?? Pillows were very thin and had to use cushions as well. Will definitely return though, mainly for view and lovely staff. Could be fabulous with a few tweaks.

Lovely hotel, great location, friendly staff and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint is that the room was very dark. During the day with daylight it was fine but there was only one small spotlight in one corner of the room and a bedside lamp that didnt work. That made it very difficult to do make up etc. Other than that we had a great stay.

We had a wedding in Newcastle and decided to stay in the Avoca that night. I rang in advance to see if we could perhaps get an early check in to suit the early wedding and this was accommodated no problem. The hotel itself lovely and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful also. If we’re back that way again we’ll definitely stay again.

We had a wedding in Newcastle and decided to stay in the Avoca that night. Nikla (might be misspelling her name) at the desk was amazing! At check-in I told her I made a mistake at booking with the room type and she was extremely helpful in assisting with a new room type and she did not disappoint. Our room was spacious with a great view of the sea. Also the shower in the room was amazing and extremely refreshing compared to other hotels throughout Ireland/ Northern Ireland. Also had an amazing dinner with amazing service downstairs.

Fantastic hotel right outside the promenade and a stones throw away from the town. I believe it was refurbished recently enough, very comfortable and the decor is really well done. We’d a beautiful sea view room. The staff were really nice and v helpful, the restaurant and bar were excellent (great food and drink). Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay. Central to everything in Newcastle and staff couldn’t have done more. So cheap for b&b, will definitely be back.

A lovely 2 night stay at this very convenient hotel on Newcastle Main Street. Great view of the sea from the family room on the 1st floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was lovely including breakfast and with parking just round the corner it was a great location.

Lovely room with cracking view of the see. Parking very close and not far from town centre. Welcoming and friendly staff and good breakfast. Only thing I would mention was lack of storage in the room but we managed. Would stay again.

Fantastic 2 nights away Great location , no carpark but plenty available spaces nearby and FREE !! Easy check in great helpful staff Cute quirky room very tastefully decorated . Amazing shower Excellent food , ate here both nights and very good cooked breakfast And the husband enjoyed the Guinness and whisky !! Would definitely recommend this hotel

The property is located right on the main street and therefore was a bit loud. The room was quite warm and with the windows open, the next door live music from The Wild Hare charmed us well into the early hours of the morning. Some might not like that "vibe". The staff was excellent. We were on our own when it came to parking and had to park almost a mile away from the property and get creative in managing bags to the room.

Great views of the sea. The fish & chips is beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is piping hot it's definitely the best fry up I've had at a hotel. The staff are so friendly & helpful. The hotel has a very relaxed vibe. The wild hare bar is brilliant, there's live music on at night & the cocktails are delicious.

We had a lovely welcome which set the scene for our entire stay. The bedroom was quirky and very comfortable with the most beautiful sea view. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was huge and really tasty. We loved our stay at Avoca and are already planning our next visit. Have recommended it to friends and family already.

A lovely boutique hotel with unique furnishings. Very welcoming and helpful staff Room was lovely- a great size, very hot so could do with some air conditioning in the warmer months. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again soon

Small room but great view. Staff were very good. Limited menu if dining in. We were only offered large or small fry for breakfast while other people were eating pancakes etc. ?? Pillows were very thin and had to use cushions as well. Will definitely return though, mainly for view and lovely staff. Could be fabulous with a few tweaks.

Great overall impression Breakfast a bit of confusion…we sat down as directed but had to ask for coffee…we were told we should order from our table …but the choice was only small or large fry, while other non residents were given a menu …don’t want to complain too much tho as the fry was beautiful

Room cleaned every day, helpful and pleasant staff and good bar.I was disappointed my Room was at the back of the Hotel, in the past when I have stayed i have got a Room with a veiw of the promenade and sea. I assumed when booking, because of the price, I was getting a room over looking the promenade.

Staff member apon check in was great and even showed us to our room. Unfortunately the room let us down, it was a very hot day and the rooms have no air conditioning. Phoned reception to ask for a fan to be rudely told THEY WERE ALL OUT! We stayed in the family room, was a nice size and clean, could do with a mini fridge and air conditioning. The WiFi in the hotel did not work at all no matter where we where in the hotel.

The hotel was a real contrast in experiences. When we checked in the woman could not have been more helpful and with the unusual heat, the room was very stuffy, and they provided us with a fan quickly. There was one bartender who was extremely rude and dismissive. In the evening went down for a drink, and the staff was extremely rude, and while we were sitting having a drink, one of the staff turned over tables in front of us to let us know that we should leave and go back to our room. Extremely rude. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay.
