Our satnav found it a little difficult to locate, but once there the welcome was good, and the room and facilities exceeded our expectations. Food and drink a little pricey, but this is the South East, so we expected it.

Very friendly staff and a lovely clean room. And the food in the bar was just fine. Everything I needed for an overnight stay before getting the Eurotunnel the following morning.

Very cool old English pub, tucked away in a quiet little hamlet. Rooms are in a converted stables, while not large are well appointed. Was a great place to rest up after a long flight.

OMG!!! What a hidden gem :) this place is so lovely and fresh. The pub attached is wonderful and staff are super helpful and friendly, we loved our stay and will definitely be booking again

The hotel staff and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant had a good menu and was excellent value. Room was comfortable and good Internet access. No cooked breakfast, but cereals and yoghurts/biscuits supplied in room, not in Restaurant. No shops in vicinity, but easy access to other places of interest and motorways.

Had a really good stay here, everything you needed was in the room which was very clean, very warm and shower was excellent. Good choice for breakfast as well and meals in the pub where of a very high standard. We will definitely return to the King and Queen 😀

Always a wonderful stay, clean, fresh room, comfy bed, great shower, TV, lovely continental breakfast in the room, cereals, breakfast bars, fruit, fresh milk, orange juice and yogurts in the fridge, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, replenished daily. Lovely staff. Can't fault it!

One night transit stay. The room was clean. The in room breakfast was very good with plenty of choice in cereal & milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, grain bar and apples. All for a very good price of £50 per room.

We arrived shattered, checked in easily with a lovely member of staff and was shown to our room. My fault entirely, in my haste to book I didn't pick up the room was located at the back of the pub - there was a fair amount of noise until gone 11pm (Saturday) - wouldn't normally be an issue but with an early start that day and the following day it wasn't ideal. Breakfast choices were left in the room (cereals, porridge, yoghurt, granola bar, fruit and orange juice) which was perfectly fine and appreciated. There were a couple of marks on the bedding - clearly something like black ink, nothing suspicious and for me the bed was a bit too soft (we all have different tastes). The room (1) had everything needed, also windows on two sides and a great fan to counter the heat. Would we stay again - yes, if we were not reliant on sleep and an early start.

Two electric heaters in the room, only one working. It was -2°c overnight and the duvet was around 20mm thick and no extra blankets. Extremely cold until around 3am, then the room was boiling. Food service stopped at 6pm. I checked in at 6:10pm and all i was offered was a ceasar salad.

The pub and room are really nice with helpful and friendly staff. The only downside was that they decided to start doing some very noisy work at 4am right outside our window. No idea why they thought that was an appropriate time, but there you go. Other than that, enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic staff and service. The food portion size in the pub was generous, and the breakfast tray was a nice touch. Unfortunately, in the room itself the air con was broken, the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable, the decor was dated, and the blinds were not blackout. I was awoken early by the bins being emptied.

Breakfast items topped up daily. The food and service in the pub is exemplary. The manager is an excellent host who clearly works very hard. We love staying here and can't recommend it highly enough. It's a stones throw from the railway station so easy access into central London too.

Excellent value for money. The 2 staff members we met were both polite and helpful. The cleaning lady went over and above to help us when I left my phone charger in the room. Really appreciated.

One night transit stay. The room was clean. The in room breakfast was very good with plenty of choice in cereal & milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, grain bar and apples. All for a very good price of £50 per room.

Very friendly staff and a lovely clean room. And the food in the bar was just fine. Everything I needed for an overnight stay before getting the Eurotunnel the following morning.

The hotel staff and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant had a good menu and was excellent value. Room was comfortable and good Internet access. No cooked breakfast, but cereals and yoghurts/biscuits supplied in room, not in Restaurant. No shops in vicinity, but easy access to other places of interest and motorways.

Had a really good stay here, everything you needed was in the room which was very clean, very warm and shower was excellent. Good choice for breakfast as well and meals in the pub where of a very high standard. We will definitely return to the King and Queen 😀

Two electric heaters in the room, only one working. It was -2°c overnight and the duvet was around 20mm thick and no extra blankets. Extremely cold until around 3am, then the room was boiling. Food service stopped at 6pm. I checked in at 6:10pm and all i was offered was a ceasar salad.

The second time that I have stayed here and it doesn't disappoint. A good value place with the added bonus of being able to get a decent meal at the pub without having to travel.

Always a wonderful stay, clean, fresh room, comfy bed, great shower, TV, lovely continental breakfast in the room, cereals, breakfast bars, fruit, fresh milk, orange juice and yogurts in the fridge, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, replenished daily. Lovely staff. Can't fault it!

Fantastic staff and service. The food portion size in the pub was generous, and the breakfast tray was a nice touch. Unfortunately, in the room itself the air con was broken, the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable, the decor was dated, and the blinds were not blackout. I was awoken early by the bins being emptied.

Check-in was a little slow — the booking system seemed to be having an off day — but the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We were shown to our room, which was upstairs in the side building. We’d read other reviews mentioning these rooms run hot, and unfortunately that held true for us too. Thankfully there was a fan in the room, which we set up and it made a real difference. Aside from the heat, the room itself was excellent — really clean, well maintained, and everything in great condition, with plenty of hot water for both the shower and basin. One small niggle (echoed in other reviews too) is that the stairwell light runs on a push-button timer that’s set a bit too short. Overall though, a high-quality room, just a touch warm. We didn’t eat here in the evening, but we made good use of the excellent range of beers on offer — very welcome after a day out, and thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was the one letdown. It’s a continental spread — a carton of orange juice, a couple of boxes of cereal, an oat bar, and a small carton of milk in the fridge. Underwhelming enough that we walked across the road instead, where we had a brilliant breakfast. If the owner’s reading this, it might be worth either partnering with the place across the road and offering breakfast there for a small supplement, or scrapping the current offering altogether and just pointing guests in that direction. Would we stay again - yes absolutely!
