The Kayana Beach Lombok

Some recent negative reviews claim Kayana's high 4.7 rating is misleading because it rests on old reviews. As a recent guest, I'll push back directly: after five days here, that rating is completely deserved right now. The service is where Kayana shines. The staff were warm, attentive and genuinely kind throughout, going out of their way to arrange thoughtful little details they had no obligation to. I cannot thank them enough. I'll be direct, as an Indian traveller myself: the recent "rude staff" complaints came from fellow Indian nationals, and I found the complete opposite — nothing but warmth and respect. The rooms are squeaky clean and spotless. The resort has its own private beach with calm water, and the snorkelling is a treat — colourful fish, healthy coral, blue starfish, masks provided. The restaurant, The Blues, has mesmerizing views and unforgettable sunsets. On a clear night you can even see the whole Milky Way. One honest note: mornings can carry a faint smell of burning, as locals burn refuse — but that's common across Lombok and not something the resort controls. Older complaints about the call to prayer simply reflect that Lombok is the "Island of a Thousand Mosques." Clean rooms, heartfelt service, a stunning beach and staff who treat you like family. A hidden gem, and an easy, wholehearted recommendation.

Reception staff are always on hand. The food for breakfast was super and service on all days we were there was efficient and made sure we left satisfied. Plenty of choice on the menus for breakfast and evening meals.

Everything was ok but the restaurant had limited options for vegetarian and no choice for international cuisine. Majority of the beach has local village boats parked and can be noisy as ferry service is operated from nearby to Gilli islands

Our stay at Kayana Beach Resort was nothing short of exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the reception team and management went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Every single member of the front desk was extremely helpful, professional, and always greeted us with a warm smile. They made the check-in and check-out process smooth and effortless, and were always ready to assist with anything we needed during our stay. A special mention must go to the chef and team at The Blues Restaurant. The food was consistently 10/10, delicious, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The restaurant staff went out of their way to accommodate our dietary preferences, even preparing custom dishes to meet our specific needs. Their attention to detail and care truly made every meal a memorable experience. The spa at Kayana Beach Resort deserves high praise as well. It was one of the best spa experiences we’ve had, incredibly spacious, spotless, and serene. The massage therapists were well-trained and provided a deeply relaxing experience that left us feeling rejuvenated. I do consider the resort to be 4/5 for location as it lacks a private beach and it was shared with local people and fisherman. Overall, every member of staff, from management to housekeeping, restaurant to spa, made us feel like family. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made our stay unforgettable.
