The Inn is a historic building in Ogdensburg and has had a major renovation completed in order to give it a new life. The rooms are massive, the grounds and the pool are lovely and the owners are very attentive and helpful. The breakfast is amazing! A great place to stay.

City school converted to B and B. Historical room themes. Each room is giant and still has aspects of the school classroom. Available full kitchen would make it an ideal place for a longer term stay. Very clean. Friendly owners. Breakfast was excellent. Great place to stay when visiting colleges in area (easy 30 minute drive to most)

Absolutely most unique bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. It happened to be my husbands elementary school decades ago. Each classroom is converted into huge suites that have presidential themes. The details for the decor and history was incredible. Donna did an amazing job. Jim you are one of a kind human. The history of the place from the playroom to the library was intense. Thanks for keeping this gem preserved. Breakfast was amazing too. No parking fees or late checkout fees. It’s like being home and cared for. Access to the kitchen 24/7 for water or coffee and snacks was a perk you can’t find.

This property was amazing! They maintained the school feel as well as making it a desirable place to stay. The owners make it that much better with their welcoming personalities. The brunch was delicious. The presidential tour was fun. The library and gym! I cant say enough about it. Its also very close to the water where you can take a nice stroll!!

Step back in time through the doors of the Sherman Inn! The owners transformed this elementary school into a lavish bed & breakfast. A beautifully curated selection of antique furnishings & decor welcomes you, encouraging you to stay a while. Greeted by name upon arrival, we were shown to our room by the owner. Jim gave us a guided tour of the Inn. He is a wealth of historical information about the building itself & about Ogdensburg. Even my 15 year old daughter was entertained by Jim's stories - he knows how to cater to his audience! Communal areas include: an equipped kitchen; an impressive library you are encouraged to explore; a parlour with an inviting sitting area where you can linger & enjoy the company of the owners & other guests; a large playroom (the former school's gymnasium); an inground pool; an outdoor sitting area. You can even find board games for an evening in. While surrounded by history & antiques, modern amenities are not lacking. There is cable television, in room fridge, air conditioning & private bath. The beds are comfortable with soft sheets. Plenty of options for seating. Donna prepared delicious, gorgeously plated breakfasts which were served to guests in the parlour. We enjoyed our stay at this large yet cozy place. The rooms were very large, with lots of interesting things to enjoy. There were also comfortable common spaces and lots of local and American historical information. The rainy weather precluded use of the pool. We had a nice stroll to Buster's for a good dinner at the recommendation of the owner, and a great breakfast in the moring. Would definitely return.

Property is a beautifully restored schoolhouse with charm and a couple the love and care for it. We were treated to a historic walk through the place that included and amazing library complete with antique books for our enjoyment. The gymnasium was a playground for children complete with the most amazing collection of toys. It was far enough from rooms so kids could play with everything and not be nuisance to anyone. Just finshed breakfast beautifully plated French toast with warm local maple syrup, assorted fruit, and bacon. Owners are very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Throoms oh my goodness the largest rooms ive ever had the are literally a classroom with your own private bathroom. Modern ame but historical charm. Rooms a beautifully decowith comfortable furniture and amazing antiques. We were just passing through but could have spent the weekend there. A gem of a hotel

Such a cool and unique stay! This beautifully restored old school turned hotel perfectly blends historic charm with modern comfort. The location couldn’t be better — close to everything yet still cozy and quiet. Everything was spotless and had such a welcoming, homey feel the moment we walked in. The beds were incredibly comfortable (some of the best sleep I’ve had in a hotel!), and the staff went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating. You can truly feel the warmth and hospitality throughout the entire place. We will absolutely be staying here again!

We stopped in for an overnight stay as part of a longer roadtrip, and to be honest, I didn’t recall that the Inn was converted from an old schoolhouse, so I was surprised when we pulled up. But what a pleasant surprise! Our room was incredibly spacious and full of treasures to explore. The beds were comfortable, the entire place was clean and welcoming, and there are lots of little touches to keep kids entertained. Jim and Donna are friendly hosts who take great care to make sure guests have a perfect stay. But the real highlight was the breakfast. I’ve never had better french toast! An absolutely delightful place to spend the night - I hope our travels bring us through again.

We enjoyed our stay at The Sherman Inn. The room was spacious , super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Jim and Donna are great hosts. We look forward to staying there in the near future when we are passing through to visit our son at SLU.

The location is perfect - within walking distance to restaurants and all the attractions the town has to offer. The staff was very cordial. The room was very spacious and quiet with a nice, comfy bed. The breakfast was great with a variety of fresh berries. Overall, it's a very relaxing, charming, super clean, and well-maintained inn. I'll definitely stay there again.

We attended a Track and Field event at St Lawrence University that my grandson was in and came in second in the weight throw. The Sherman Inn was far above my expectations. Extremely clean, smelled clean, wonderful beds, very roomy, even had throw blankets on chairs. One of the coziest places I have ever stayed in and close enough to the University. The rooms were decorated beautifully with a lighted Christmas tree. And to top it off there was a full kitchen that we could use and a delightful breakfast with waffles, fresh fruit and bacon done perfectly and whipped cream. If I go to another event at the University I certainly will stay again at your well appointed establishment Thank you for making it a mist memorable weekend.

If you would like to spend your vacation in a beautifully restored old school house look no further. We only spent a night here but can't wait to come back. The rooms are massive, tastefully decorated, clean, and comfortable. All this and it comes with a home-cooked breakfast lovingly made by one of the owners. In the evening we sat around a charming campfire and chatted with other guests. We loved our stay here.

The most unique B&B we’ve ever stayed at. It is a former elementary school. Common areas were charming. Our room was HUGE and we loved it. Cozy sitting area with fully decorated Christmas tree. The bed was so comfortable. Lovely robes in bathroom. Owners Jim and Donna were so welcoming. You can tell they take great pride in the property. We had an awesome breakfast in main dining room and Jim gave us a tour and history lesson on the building and area. Highly recommend. Would stay again! Jen and Steve

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in .. very comfortable, very spacious ... lots of character ... Jim and Donna are perfect hosts - I cannot praise them highly enough .. the breakfast is freshly made, and superb .. If you want to see the Remington Museum, a stay at the Sheman Inn will make it a memorable experience

The Sherman Inn is a converted elementary school with very large tastefully decorated former classrooms. There is a large parlor room where an excellent breakfast is served by hosts Jim and Doreen. Guests will also enjoy a comfortable library stocked with books about local history. We especially enjoyed the very comfortable beds and quiet. We will definitely plan visit again in the future.

What a fabulous stay! The Sherman Inn was absolutely incredible - huge room (complete with Netflix on the TV), wonderful hosts, amazing breakfast, and the entire space so tastefully and historically maintained. We are now spoiled for all other hotels. Stay here - you'll love it!

The Sherman is a very unique place with spacious rooms and lots to enjoy for a history buff. The host was very welcoming and gave a tour of the common areas. My only negative is about the breakfast time of 8:30 which by that time we were 1.5 hours into our drive and sadly missed it.

My stay in the Sherman Inn was fantastic. Jim & Donna are exceptionally kind, are fantastic hosts, and have a deep knowledge & appreciation for the area and its history, which they share enthusiastically. The building (a converted school) and rooms are very engaging and relaxing. A very comfortable bed, spacious suite, and a delicious breakfast! This trip was for work, but based on the quality of The Sherman Inn, my wife and I are planning a return trip.

Such a wonderful and unique experience! Jim and Donna are wonderful! We arrived late due to bad weather and they accommodated a late check in. They even made time for a little tour of the converted elementary school and the rooms that are named after presidents that have visited Ogdensburg. We had a flight out of the airport (3 mins away) in the morning so Jim and Danna arranged to have breakfast prepared a little bit earlier for us. The home made breakfast and homemade muffins was delicious! Overall very spacious rooms, very quiet and clean and excellent for families. I would highly recommend and I look forward to our next stay!

It was everything I expected from reading previous reviews. Welcoming, comfortable, clean, spacious rooms to sprawl out in. I couldn't have asked for more. The staff and owners were kind and gracious, the breakfast was DELICIOUS. You won't get a view of the river, but you get so much more. Just book it!

The Sherman Inn is a converted elementary school. The rooms are VERY spacious and well furnished, the neighborhood is safe and walkable and the hosts/owners are delightful - friendly and professional. I loved this place.

City school converted to B and B. Historical room themes. Each room is giant and still has aspects of the school classroom. Available full kitchen would make it an ideal place for a longer term stay. Very clean. Friendly owners. Breakfast was excellent. Great place to stay when visiting colleges in area (easy 30 minute drive to most)

This property was amazing! They maintained the school feel as well as making it a desirable place to stay. The owners make it that much better with their welcoming personalities. The brunch was delicious. The presidential tour was fun. The library and gym! I cant say enough about it. Its also very close to the water where you can take a nice stroll!!

The location is perfect - within walking distance to restaurants and all the attractions the town has to offer. The staff was very cordial. This is an Ogdensburg gem! The innkeepers are warm, friendly and accommodating with lots of insights about local history and things to do. Breakfast was AMAZING. Huge rooms with interesting decor. The inn is right in the middle of town and convenient to everything. You won’t find a better place to stay in Ogdensburg.

We enjoyed our stay at this large yet cozy place. The rooms were very large, with lots of interesting things to enjoy. There were also comfortable common spaces and lots of local and American historical information. The rainy weather precluded use of the pool. We had a nice stroll to Buster's for a good dinner at the recommendation of the owner, and a great breakfast in the moring. Would definitely return.

We would highly recommend the Sherman Inn. We had an amazing stay in a beautifully appointed historic inn. The rooms are huge with plenty of room to relax and stretch your legs. We slept so well and had the best homemade breakfast. We will be back!!

You will not find better accommodations in Ogdensburg. Sherman inn used to be Sherman Elementary School and the rooms are classroom size. The space is amazing. I ate breakfast every morning during my week long stay and I probably gained 10 lbs.😆. Jim and Donna went the extra mile to make my stay pleasant. I will most definitely stay at the Sherman Inn again in the future. I highly recommend The Sherman Inn, you won't be disappointed.

What a fabulous stay! The Sherman Inn was absolutely incredible - huge room (complete with Netflix on the TV), wonderful hosts, amazing breakfast, and the entire space so tastefully and historically maintained. We are now spoiled for all other hotels. Stay here - you'll love it!

Fire pit was readily available, and the heated inground pool was too. We didn't use either as we were there for a function and quite busy the whole weekend. Jim and Donna were great!! The breakfast Donna made was amazing every day!! I highly recommend and looking forward to our next booked vacation at the Inn.

I am not much of a Bed and Breakfast person. This type of place would be far outside my character to stay, but I was pleased with the comfort of the beds, sheets, and towels. The breakfast was excellent, and there were so many amenities available if you needed them. Very interesting property. I was glad I stayed and would recommend this Inn to anyone in the area.
